About Alan Lambert

A dream come true. A villa in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The picture shows the owner kayaking in the lagoon of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Just a short distance from the house is a Mayan lighthouse that is shown in the picture. This lighthouse was used for night fishing hundreds of years ago to exactly pinpoint the location of a cenote in the lagoon where bountiful fish awaited. The Mayans would light a small fire in the lighthouse and when lined up directly in the line of sight of the fire, they would be directly over the cenote.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fantastic vacation with family

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I invited our three sons and one daugther-in-law to spend a week of family time here in Tulum. We absolutely loved the villa. We opened the door and were impressed with the spaciousness and openness of the living area, dining, and kitchen. Perfect for a big group. The indooor furniture was comfy. Our family loves to be outdoors so we loved the covered deck. It had a dining table, another table, and a variety of seating options including Adirondeck chairs, sofas, and chaisses. There are some special lighting options indoors and out. There was no need for air conditioning except for the downstairs room. The fans and wind made for comfortable tropical temps.

The bedrooms were equipped with lots of closet /storage space, excellent lines and mattresses, and views, The view from our shower was incredible---a palm tree and ocean or looking the other way, a deserted beach. Shampoo and soap provided. Each bedroom was private and if one family member got up early, the others didn't hear a sound. The road is close to the house. At night, i estimate two or three vehicles passed by between ten and six. Birds will start chirping at six am prividng a natural alarm clock.

Beach: gorgeous. The water is warm, sometimes with waves, sometimes calm. Most days, we could look up and down without seeing another person. We never needed the beach towels provided by the villa. The staff rakes the seaweed off the beach. If you walk either north or south, you will see lots of weed and plastic garbage. When the wind died down, we snorkeled off the beach and saw turtles, rays, fish.

Highly recommend having Chari and Felipe cook for you. Their meals are better than what you would get at a restaurant. We enjoyed their dinnners every night. On their night off, we went into the hotel zone and had a mediocre dinner.

We rented a car, mainly because there were six of us, we had luggage, and we went into town several times a week for scuba diving. I would have been happy staying at the villa without leaving the entire week.

Bottom line, we would not hesitate to rent this villa again.

Luxury in paradise

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home and setting more than met our expectations. The home was spacious and comfortable with many amenities. We had meals prepared by the caretakers on three of our nights there and all were delicious. The guacamole with every meal was a favorite. But the outdoor space is truly breathtaking. We felt like we had a private beach that went on for miles and spent many hours both on the veranda and on the beach. We hope to return!

Family trip for our parents 50th anniversary

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate enough to spend 2 weeks at this beautiful Casa in the Sian Ka'an in March. We were a group of 7 adults there to help celebrate our parents 50th anniversary. We could not have asked for anything more, everything was absolutely perfect. The house was exactly as describe, in fact I would say even better. Felipe and Chari are the greatest hosts and provided everything we needed. As we are a group who enjoy cooking so we took care of most of our meals and the kitchen and grill were just great, one of the best equipped kitchens I have seen in a vacation rental. We did take advantage of Chari's cooking for a special anniversary dinner one night. To say that it was excellent would be a huge understatement, I would recommend anyone staying to have at least one of their meals.

Being that some of our group were sun people and some were shade the combination of covered and uncovered areas was just perfect. Most of our days were spent on the beautiful beach where we saw few if any other people. We usually had dinner on the outside terrace enjoying the fantastic breeze off the ocean.

All in all it was a fantastic trip and the house was perfect, we could not have asked for anything more!

Stunning house, stunning location!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to celebrate my wife's 40th with our closest friends. It's a stunning property. Standing on the roof viewing porch, we could catch both sunrises and sunsets over water. Each of the three masters is excellent, and the fourth bedroom with the single beds has a lot of space.

This stretch of beach is very private, only a few houses every coupe hundred yards or so. The house also has sea kayaks, boogie boards, etc that makes ocean time super fun.

On the homefront, the in-house chef is the best chef of Mexican cuisine any of us had encountered. All around a great choice for a group or family.

Second year in a row and still a blast!

  • 5 of 5

We love Casa de los pelicanos so much, this was our second year in a row staying there! The house is Amazing, the rooms are quite big, the staff so kind and they keep the house and beach so clean! we came back because we love the seclusion having a beach to our selves, the access to kayaks, snorkel gear, boogie boards. Never a dull moment, plenty of things to do if you are an active person and plenty of private space (decks, patios, beach chairs) if you just want to relax with a book or take a nap. It is such an easy drive from the airport, renting a car is the best way to go! the dirt road to the house is no problem at all, this year there was a lot of rain the weeks before our trip but the road was mostly graded and only a few pot holes nothing big. We still were able to drive 25 mph easily to the house and it does not take long to get there. The grocery store is convenient, only 20-25 min drive, we love their bakery! Donuts and everything! The town of Tulum has many great resturants, but we preferred to cook most of our meals at the house. The kitchen is huge and very well stocked with every appliance and utensil you could need or want. We loved driving to Dos Ojos cenotes only 30 min away and the Tulum Ruins are a meer 15min away so much is so close and yet we are just as happy staying at the house. We had my husband our two kids 12 and 8yrs and my nephew who is 13 yrs old, they Boogie boarded every day, built sand castles and tried building forts (LOL). My husband and I played too, but also had plenty of chill time. I would recommend this home to any persons or groups of people, who want to have a great vacation!

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful house very well equipped and a wonderful beach.

We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary there with our kids and grandchildren.

The beach was so sandy and safe and we used the boogie boards every day.

Chucho and Cheri were a delightful couple and cooked a couple of delicious meals for us.

It was great having the kayaks to use too, only we could not go on the lagoon as the path was too muddy.

The only downside was the road to the house.

There had been a lot of rain before we arrived and the potholes were terrible. Our rental cars kept bottoming out and it took us 45 minutes to drive from Tulum.

I read other reviews where people had been into Tulum for dinner, but there was NO way we could do that.

I know the owners cannot help it, but it was a definite drawback for us.

We have beautiful memories though!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. Valorie and I are glad to hear that you had a wonderful time with your family. The road was scheduled to be graded back in November but I think that they had mechanical problems and it was delayed. However, it was graded immediately after you left and is now in excellent condition. I'm just sorry that it wasn't completed prior to your arrival. We hope that you can come back and stay with us soon!

Car: not necessary

Beauty and seclusion, a white virgin sand beach, with restaurants and shopping nearby! Secluded, yes, but close to the Tulum Hotel Zone where beautiful oceanfront restaurants abound. Six short kilometers and the best dining on the Riviera Maya awaits you. Tulum pueblo is only 10 minutes more where there also are great restaurants, banks, ATMs, grocery stores, and many local shops. A villa in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Explore the lagoon in our kayaks. Just a short distance from the villa is a Mayan lighthouse used centuries ago to navigate to a favorite fishing cenote in the lagoon.

Other Activities: World class fly fishing on the lagoon flats for Permit, Tarpon, and Bonefish, deep sea ocean fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, world class kiteboarding and windsurfing, boating, kayaking, parasailing, shopping, wildlife viewing, hot air ballooning
