Carolyn and Miller Williams of Atlanta, Georgia. Our family vacationed at Lake Toxaway often so when we found this house, we knew it would become our favorite place. This house has been renovated and newly furnished. We enjoy this house all year with our children, family and friends. Once you come to Cherokee Lodge you will want to return.
Carolyn Williams purchased this house in 2005
Lake Toxaway is a Four Seasons vacation. We love to see snow in the winter, beautiful flowers in the spring, gorgeous summer skies with cool nights, and the changing leaves in the fall are amazing.
We enjoy boating on the lake. The kids love to ski and tube. We love all the great hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. There are fun concerts and bonfires on the mountain. Brevard is a great town to visit, have lunch and go shopping. Cashiers has unique antiques and restaurants. The Farmers market and the playground in Cashiers are a must. There are beautiful golf courses in the area, private and public. The Pisgah National Forest is very close and offers many activities.
Our son was playing in the State Little League 11-12 tournament in Brevard, so we decided to rent a house instead of staying in hotel for the week and this house was the PERFECT choice! The kids loved being close to the lake and playing cornhole and boche ball in the yard and the adults loved spending time on the porch! The house layout was also perfect - room enough for everyone to spread out and the downstairs is ideal for kids to have their own space! Not your typical "rental" house - owners have more than the bare necessities stocked and could not have been any easier to work with. Great location for touring around the area and enjoying all that there is to offer. We all LOVED going tubing! Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock were also huge hits! We hope to return with more free time to explore!
A beautiful home in beautiful surroundings. Couldn't be nicer. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
We had a wonderful visit at this quaint home. It is so well equipped, very cozy, beautiful outdoor spaces. Close to the lake and very private. Seemed much larger than advertised. The owner was very helpful. We would definitely go back again. The 3 floors make it great for families with children of different ages, our middle school kids really enjoyed the space downstairs. We loved renting a boat at the marina and the lake is so pretty and not crowded, even in the middle of summer.
Property was great and exactly as advertised. Owner was very helpful and responsive.
You were right about the back porch. It was a wonderful place to hang out and to entertain. We were there for July 4th and could not have had a better spot to view the fireworks. This was just great! The house was clean, home-like, in good condition--just right for our family. We really enjoyed our stay. We found more than enough to do and enjoy including hiking trails, rock sliding in creeks, canoeing a neat river, exploring the tops of many trees on a line, swimming, boating, horseback riding, golfing, shopping, beautiful waterfalls, and eating out in great places when we wished.
We rented this house for my husband's 40th birthday, and it was PERFECT! The house easily accomodated two families, along with a few more of my husband's friends. Beautiful covered deck with comfy chairs overlooking the 18th fairway, swingset for children, small pond, firepit for s'mores. Perfect place to sip a glass of wine and watch your children have FUN! Extraordinarily clean and well-stocked. We will definitely try to go back!
