Very nice, clean

  • 5 of 5

Very nice little condo! Had the essentials in the kitchen, even cooking spray, which I always forget! ;)

Only thing I could reccomend is maybe replacing the shower head. It doesnt have pressure, had a hard time getting the sunscreen off because the water was so soft! But that may be a water issue and have nothing to do with the shower itself! Lovely little place overall! :)

Comfortable but small

  • 3 of 5

The property is ok, but not great. We enjoyed the games, and beach chairs, and partial sea view. My kids (9 and 11) did not find the bunk beds comfortable, however. Luckily there is also a sleeper couch so that worked out ok. The condo needs a deep clean- there were some serious dust bunnies under the drawers in the bedroom. Also, a fork shortage. Overall a small condo, but convenient location.

Nice condo for an affordable price.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. It was comfortable for the two of us but room for more with the fold out couch and bunks.

Loved the bike rides and walks in the beach.

The pools look inviting but didn't use them because it was still cool outside at the time.

Beach trip

  • 3 of 5

I will start with the pros:

This was a conveniently located condo in regards to the pool and the beach. The condo itself was very quiet for being on the corner near the parking lot. My husband and I brought our 8 1/2 month old and we had plenty of room to set up his pack-n-play in the living room. The price was under our budget, so that made it worth it. The property manager was very good about about communication and replying to my questions/requests. I can see a family of 4 fitting fine- but I would feel like the walls were closing in if I had to stay here with 4 adults.

The kitchen was very adequate in size and amenities. Very nice cabinets and counters. We cooked 3 out of the 4 nights of our stay which was very nice. I will say that the kitchen had limited sizes of pots, but we made it work. There is a tiny dish washer, but no dish drain for small quantity items like cereal bowls. There were also no napkins- just one roll of paper towels (no extra in the condo), which was really frustrating.

Here are things that need to be improved on: The bed. That was an awful bed that sinks down and rolls you to the middle. I could feel the springs through the mattress- way past time for an upgrade. The couch is just as uncomfortable. It has a chenille type material and gets awfully hot and sticky. It also had stains- but not nearly as bad as the orange chair. This was FILTHY and gross with stains- it needs to be removed because it is an eye sore. The floors had not been mopped in a very long time. Within 5 minutes of my son playing on the floor when we were unpacking- his feet were black. There was also no broom to clean up quick sand messes- or a rug to wipe your feet to not track in sand (and we washed our feet at the pool every time). There were only 2 beach towels which was really frustrating to have to use the same towel everyday, I would recommend bringing your own. There was also dust bunnies in the corners of the bedroom and on the valances, apparently the cleaner wasn't aware of dusting in the bedroom. A closet door fell on top of me while holding my son when I opened it to put stuff in, so that was really frustrating. Inside the other closet was a new set of blinds for the glass door- which really bothered me because we had to pick up the fallen and taped on blinds throughout our trip. Updates should be made before renters come and have to deal with the broken things.

I did enjoy our stay, but this place needs some upgrades.

Owner's Response: We welcome honest reviews, but this one definitely leaves a black eye on our record. Those of you reading our past reviews will see that we have a 5 star history and make every effort to keep it that way. We have 4 other rentals on Hilton Head Island and 1 in Gatlinburg, TN. All of our reviews have been nothing more than excellent and even the 1 or 2 four star reviews that we received had nothing negative to say, just suggestions for special requests. I have no intent on lashing back at this guest for what was written, rather I have decided to take care of a few matters and make sure that a bad review never happens again. There are a few things mentioned in this review that did need improvement and some others that were possibly an attempt to get a refund or a discount. I have taken the issues mentioned in this review and made a list of the things that a potential guest might be concerned with before deciding to book a reservation. Hope this helps :-) Paper supplies – we supply enough paper towels and toilet paper for what we believe should be enough for the number of guests staying and the length of time of the reservation. This guest stated that they had 2 in their party staying for 3 nights. We do not provide napkins, only paper towels and toilet paper. This has been my experience at any hotel that I’ve stayed at in the past. The bed – we have never had a complaint about the bed, even from our friends who have stayed there. There are plans to replace the mattress in the off season regardless. The couch – we agree that the couch needs to be replaced, but have never had a complaint about it being hot and sticky. There are plans to replace it in the off season regardless. The “orange chair” – has been removed. It was time for it to go. Thank you for the suggestion. The floors – get mopped after each guest checks out. We’ve never had any complaints about the floors. The broom – in the hall closet as well as a vacuum cleaner. Beach towels – we provide beach towels for the number of guests staying. If you need more, we do suggest bringing some of your own. Dusting – has been addressed with our housekeeper. Closet door – track hinge has been tightened up. It’s possible that it was pulled from the wrong side. Sliding glass door blinds – will be replaced with drapes in the off season. It’s very hard to have these in a rental unit. They do come off the hangers and the plastic tends to break easily. Please feel free to ask me questions if you have any concerns.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was perfect for our little get away. Conveniently located as it is a corner unit. The amenities at the complex were wonderful. We plan to return!

While Hilton Head Island has long been known for Palmetto Dunes, Sea Pines and its famous candy striped lighthouse, Folly Field is the neighborhood that continues to charm visitors to the Island year after year. Home to one of the oldest neighborhoods on the Island, the architecture found in Folly Field is pleasantly eclectic, from old-fashioned beach cottages to modern marvels. Centrally located, you can venture in any direction to area shops, restaurants, movie theaters, world-class golf courses, as well as the many other attractions. This flourishing community of quiet neighborhoods featuring both homes and villas offers wide beautiful beaches with lots of room to play and build sandcastles for hours. Folly Field is also a perfect place for long, romantic walks on the beach with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
