** House Layout: Perfect for large or 2+ families **
The layout of the house and its size -- nearly 2600 sq ft -- is perfect for a large extended family or several families. Many different possible sleeping "configurations" to accommodate different types of families and groups.
SPACIOUS AND COMFORTABLE BEDROOMS: The Master Retreat is huge and private (on its own level) -– it has a king log canopy bed with designer linens, sitting area, 42" LCD TV, DVD player, gas fireplace with granite surround, and a beautiful bathroom suite with jet tub, heated floors and dual sinks. There is even space for a twin mattress (which we have) if a small child wants to sleep with his or her parents. The Guest Room has a king bed, and 42"' LCD TV. The Bunk Room has a 40" LCD TV with Apple TV and can sleep 6 people in 2 brand new twin- over-full bunk beds. Given the full bed on the bottom, an adult has room to sit up in the lower bunks -- they are quite comfortable. In addition, 2 can sleep on the queen sofa sleeper in the main family room.

We live in Boulder, CO with our 2 kids, who love Summit Ski House too! We are veteran owners and VRBO users: we've owned vacation rentals since 2000 and have rented them via VRBO since 2003. We use Summit Ski House ourselves, especially in the summer, and are continuously upgrading appliances and furnishings.
Shana purchased this House in 2009
Why Shana chose Frisco
Frisco is beautiful and offers so many activities -- skiing, hiking, biking, boating, etc -- that you can walk or bike to in the summer. We love to walk to Main St., the marina on Lake Dillon and the nearby playground. The paved biketrail is also amazing, and just a few blocks away. It's centrally located to everything in Summit County.
What makes this House unique
Summit Ski House is great for relaxing and entertaining and we often invite another family of 4 to join us, as the house is very well suited for 2 families. We enjoy being able to cook and entertain, as the dining area seats 8 and the breakfast bar seats 3. Our kids love the DVDs, games, Love Sac chairs and X-box we have there. We are continuously upgrading appliances and furnishings. So most of what's in the house is nearly new and useful. Need a charger/dock for your iPhone 6, 5 (or 4) -- it's here. Want a huge boot warmer so your boots and helmet are dry for the next day -- it's here! We want to delight you with everything, large and small.

Owner is Fantastic, Prompt & Helpful...House has Everything You Need!
We just returned from the Summit Ski House. It was a fantastic place to stay. Large house with all the amenities you need. It was well maintained and very cozy. The location was excellent and an easy walk into town (even when it is cold). Great sledding hill on property for the kids and super close to the Frisco Adventure Park. Most importantly, the owner Shana was very prompt, responsive and helpful. It is very clear she cares not only about the property but that her guests have a great trip.
Thanks so much for your review and I’m so glad you had a good time and loved the house! You and your family were great guests and welcome back any time. Happy New Year!
Exceeded Expectations ! Thanks Shana
My ski group and I had a wonderful visit to Summit County and were fortunate to stay at the perfectly appointed, perfectly located home. We loved that the huge kitchen flowed right into the living room and the outside deck. We were all very comfortable winding down in the living room couches, love seats, and beanbag chairs. The BR's were all very nice. The Master bedroom and bath were a real treat. I especially liked identifying my "ideal shower temperature" in the high tech waterfall shower ! We had some great hikes around Frisco (Rainbow Lake was the fave !) on the one day we took off from the mountains. Would not hesitate to come back and enjoy this property again. ps. Shana was great to work with... very responsive... very helpful and knowledgeable. !
Loved it both times!! So much more than a typical rental
We've now been to Summit Ski House twice, once with another family, this time just our family, and both times we had a great time and loved the house. Can't wait to return in the summer!
We like to ski and have stayed in many VRBO properties over the years and this one is among our favorite. Reclining sofa was so comfortable my husband fell asleep on it and the kids loved the bunk room and the animal heads on the walls. It's got everything, like a keurig (+ pods were provided), docking/charging station for iPhone, great movies, smart TV (we could access our Netflix account!), ski boot dryer/warmer (!), beanbag chairs for the kids to lounge in, even a treadmill, which I was happy to have when we didn't ski. There's also a great hill right beside the house and the owners let us use their sleds. The kids had a blast and we could watch them from the kitchen while sipping hot cocoa (also provided, along with tea, coffee, condiments, spices and staples, baggies, that sorta thing).
Keypad entry was handy. There was a large entry allowing us to hang jackets, store and dry boots, etc. it's right near the laundry, which was convenient and we used the dryer to dry mittens, gloves and hats. The owners left ski jackets, shoes and vaccums in the closet, as there's no lockable owners closet. Still lots of room for our stuff and it was really fine with us (and probably most people?) but it's just something to be aware of if you are looking for a more sterile rental with no trace that the owner actually uses the place too.
Last note, the location is very good, about 4 blocks to Main street and the Summit Stage stop that goes to Copper. I think the location will be an even bigger advantage in the summer since it's also close to the bike trail and hiking trails.
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the house and all the amenities we provide; we are constantly refreshing and upgrading too. You are welcome back any time!
This property is in a perfect location. Beautiful views, tons of things to do, kid friendly, quiet and peaceful. The owner is outstanding and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
Thank you! We also have 2 kids so we are always updating amenities with adults and kids in mind! We welcome you back any time.
The unit is nicely set up for large groups and families.
The large kitchen and family room are nice features. The master bedroom that my wife and I occupied is top shelf. Good views from the deck and family room and good walkability.
Thanks! I'm glad the kitchen is so big so I can keep stocking it!
Wonderful Location and Well Stocked Home
We rented this home for a week in July 2016 for our 3 families. The home was perfect for us, 6 adults, a 7 year old, 4 year old, two 1 year old children and one dog. We have stayed in a lot of homes, and this one is stocked like no other home we have stayed in. Everything you could ever want. We enjoy cooking while on vacation, and this home had everything we needed, and then some in a wonderfully large kitchen. Spices, foil, baggies, condiments, crock pot, BBQ grill, you name it, it had it. The location is 2 blocks from Main Street, which was perfect. And Shana the owner was a delight to work with! Very responsive to any question. And did I mention the DVD's? Washer and Dryer? Bikes in the garage? Pack and Play? Booster chair? We love staying in Frisco, and we have found our home away from home. Oh yes, and the hot tub was enjoyed by the older children and their parents. So fun!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, and it's wonderful to gather 3 generations together to vacation together! We travel a fair amount too and my pet peeve is understocked rentals so I strive to have everything and anything guests could need (or want). I'm glad the kid gear came in handy too!
Frisco is the most centrally located town in Summit County and has a quaint Main Street a mile long and full of shops, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. Summit Ski House is just 4 blocks from Main and 4 blocks to the paved bike trail that goes to Brekenridge and Copper and an extensive network of hiking/mountain biking trails. It's only 5 min to Copper, 20 min to Vail, 12 min to Brekenridge, 17 min to Keystone, 7 min to great Outlet shopping in Silverthorne. NOTE: though I've tried to fix it, the pin on the map is slightly off. We are at 6th and Frisco St.
