About Mary

I love gardening and the cottage is surrounded by my efforts of creating a nest of greenery that puts the city at bay while you nestle in for a pleasant urban experience.

It was important for me to draw from my own travels and wanted to show the same warmth and generosity I've experienced and apply it as a host.

Mary purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Mary chose South

Seattle is a great city and I'm happy to show it off from the perspective of a proud homeowner and a seasoned traveler.

Seeing the interior of a place through a cozy neighborhood makes a more relaxing and memorable trip.

Our cottage has been very popular with our neighborhood who bring their family members to stay with us.

What makes this cottage unique

You'll get a personal greeting as I live on the property. I believe that is why most people take this route so they can have a human experience. A bit of communication and warm hospitality goes a long way.

We live near Jefferson Park which is an easy walk (1.5 miles) from the cottage. The park has gone through an incredible renovation and expansion! We are proud to showcase a basketball court, 4 tennis courts, skateboard park and a children's play area.

A quiet place to stay after a busy day in the city

  • 5 of 5

Clean, comfortable, very kind owner. You really feel at home. Recommendable for everyone who wants something else than the usual hotel. Next time in Seattle I would choose again this nice cottage.

Perfect Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed my stay in the cottage. It is exactly how it's described. The convenience of the location to the bus route is my favorite part.

Lovely and quaint!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the cottage for three nights. We were quite comfortable and so enjoyed the garden that was right outside the door. It was an easy Uber ride from the airport to the cottage and you could easily Uber to and from downtown or take the bus which is quite convenient. We really enjoyed meeting Mary and Bonnie - sharing great conversation over a nice glass of wine or two in the garden! Was nice to get away from downtown in the evening. I would highly recommend this place and if we are back in Seattle, we will definitely stay here again!

Just as described

  • 5 of 5

A great place to get way after a long strenuous day for me. A cute place just as described. The airplanes did not bother me at all, in fact they were quite soothing. A nice oasis in the middle of town.
