Why William Harty chose Chicago

The location is perfect. I wanted to be close to the lake, airport and Evanston. I am a fanatic for wonderful architechture and Rogers Park is known for the late 20's grand style. Only 10 miles from O'Hare Field. Midway Airport is 22 miles away. Just a 15 minute ride on the Union Pacific train to the heart of the city. This train stop is only 6 blocks from Residence on the Avenue. Ravinia Park, the out door concert venue can be reached in 20 minutes by this same train. The Red line will take you to Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo & to down town. Wrigley Field home to the World Series Championship Cubs is just 15 minutes from our location!

What makes this condo unique

I love the location. All that the city has to offer is so reachable. Lake Shore Drive is so close and can take me to the Magnificient mile (Michigan Avenue)Or head the other direction where LSD becomes Sheridan Road & view the beautiful mansions along the way to the Chicago Botanical Garden..........All along the the lake front. I enjoy as well the peacefulness ofthe beautiful North Shore towns of Evanston, Willmette, Winnetka & Glencoe Having the lake front so close is also a benefit.

Terrific!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was so comfortable! With two bedrooms and two baths it suited our family perfectly. We enjoyed sitting out in the back garden (the weather was beautiful), the kitchen is well-appointed, the dining and living rooms very spacious, and Ross was a great host. Rogers Park is an eclectic neighborhood with a fun vibe, close to Evanston, Andersonville, and easy access to downtown Chicago by car or train.

Quiet, Safe, Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our dog, Bogart, stayed here and it was a very nice experience. We dealt with Ross, the property manager, and he was very pleasant and easily accessible. There is a no parking zone directly in front of the garden condo and Ross said we were allowed to park there while we unloaded our things for the condo. That was very convenient. We would highly recommend the paid parking spot behind the building...very reasonable price and easy access to the condo through the private garden.

We called Ross upon arrival and he met us and gave us a tour of the condo, answered questions, gave us the keys, and showed us our personal parking space.

The garden condo was clean and well furnished. Loved the heated bathroom floors. The beds were comfortable. The only suggestion I have would be to have fans available for the bedrooms for those who are used to sleeping with a ceiling fan every night. We had no trouble sleeping at night as far as city noise. It was surprisingly quiet. And, the private garden was wonderful for our dog to go out at midnight and I felt comfortable being out there with him. The neighborhood was nice and safe and my husband walked Bogart for several hours daily and was all around the area and felt safe.

We chose this condo because we needed to be close to Evanston and Northwestern. It is literally just a few blocks from Evanston . This is the ideal place if you have a need to visit those places.

Lovely and comfortable. It quickly felt like home.

  • 5 of 5

Ross greeted us with detailed instructions on the unit , the neighborhood and restaurants. We were in Chicago on a house hunting trip and we wanted to immerse ourselves in a neighborhood for a week. Rogers Park was a great launch point for our adventures. The L stops are a 10 minute walk. Lyft service was excellent. Restaurants like R Public House (go for weekend brunch), Antiprima, and the Peckish Pig were amazing. Even though we are moving to Lakeview, we know we are a short L ride away from Rogers Park and the great places we discovered there. We will return to the area regularly.

In the Garden unit of the Residence there is plenty of space to stretch out, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer so no need to over pack. Groceries easy to obtain at Jewel Osco by the Howard L stop.

If you are visiting Northwestern University this is a fabulous location to stay. Just 10 minute walk to the Howard L stop then 10 minutes on the purple line. If you are headed downtown just jump on the red line at Howard or Jarvis (R Public House right next to Jarvis stop).

Overall many thanks to Ross and William for great communication and a charming and quiet place to stay.

Amazing Condo for the Right Price

  • 5 of 5

Excellent place to stay, clean, roomy (5 of us were here and didn't feel cramped) and quiet. Also, very nicely decorated and close to a train station as well. Having personal parking is also a nice perk/bonus. Has all the utensils needed, dishwasher, coffee maker, stove, fridge all you need. Had a wonderful time and would come back again.

Lovely stay in this comfortable condo!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed at the Residence on the Avenue "Garden" Unit for our 10-year reunion at Northwestern. It was perfect. The unit is spacious, modern, and beautiful. We had no problems checking in and checking out, they were very accommodating of letting us drop bags off before our official check-in time. We didn't make much use of the kitchen but it was fully stocked with cookware. We did like how central the kitchen was and we spent a lot of time around the table talking and catching up; it was a great place for this. One of the other things we liked were that that sleeping rooms were all nicely spaced out from each other, and there were enough bathrooms, which really spread the "getting ready" in the morning out so we weren't just running into each other all the time. There were also extra blankets and pillows in the closets, and basic toiletries (soap, etc) in the bathrooms.

Communication with the property manager was very easy. You can take Uber to Northwestern for ~$12 in this area if you don't have a car. Plus the whole area is lovely and quiet, lots of tree-lined streets, and the light that filters in to the unit in the mornings through the leaves outside was very calming. We did not walk to the El from this location; it wasn't super close, but you could probably uber there in <5 min for really cheap. Would definitely stay again.
