More than a nice property, this is a one of a kind experience that you'll always remember! Set on a hilltop in the middle of 40 acres, this house has magnificent mountain views all around. The property was a recent location of a lovely wedding and reception making beautiful use of the yard and first floor (note the 1st floor or basement is only accessible from a separate downstairs entrance). The second story is the main living area with 4 bedrooms, a full bathroom, open kitchen, dining and living room in a large great room with a stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings, a dining room table for 12, two wrought iron chandeliers and wood throughout. A complete wrap around porch provides views of the property's rolling hills and fields plus long range mountain views for sunsets that top it all! Two of the four bedrooms have French doors leading to the back screened in sun porch, a great spot for morning coffee! Scenic front yard has a tree swing. Take walks along the 1/4 mile driveway lined with apple trees and white fences, venture into the fields, or follow the low driveway past the basketball court to the pond. Enjoy a truly memorable stay at this unique mountain estate. Located just 3 miles from downtown Franklin; 2 miles from the highway, Easy access roads with gradual slopes, excellent cell phone reception, Internet & DirectTV!

The estate was my parent's vacation home and we enjoyed many summers and holidays here with family and friends.
April Sgro purchased this house in 1959
My family loved Franklin and this particular piece of land. It was the perfect spot to build a dream mountain retreat. The house sits at the top of a hill in the center of the property which unfolds around it with fields, trails, a tennis court and pond.
Was nice view on property. Upstairs was fine very small kitchen but ok one bedroom bed set on floor(not good) nails backing out of boards on porch. no access to lower floor from inside had to go outside down the stairs to lower unit very musky smell lower floor not ready for renters(note where 2 bathroom location) stair railing was to low. maybe should look at pest control spraying(stink bugs ) Pictures on HomeAway are very old fence/gates falling down.
We had an amazing time at the cabin. It was family friendly. The cabin had a beautiful view of the mountains and it is located in a peaceful part of Franklin. The first floor is a bit rundown and does need some maintenance but, we stayed on the second floor where it was just perfect for our family. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
Went on vacation here this past week with my family... Pictures look nothing like the house... Pictures make the house look bigger but when u walk in its kitchen living room walk few more steps small hallway with 4 bedrooms and a bathroom... Also stink bugs all over the house...We had 12 people 5 being kids so in hopes of using the bottom floor which btw u cant get downstairs without using the stairs outside no way to go down through the inside.... We went to look and a window was broken the room was moldy and all the furniture had cobwebs on it they had stuff laid arounf like it was a house they were living in not clean at all... Im not someone to complain but my dad paid for basically only the view it seemed like.... And the yard is alright but to go to tje big field u have to drivendown the road to the bottom of the hill its not connected. ..
Btw we noticed yall must of ripped put a complaint note because we found part OF it laying around about the stink bugs....
House very comfortable.Fully equipped.Views are amazing.Owners very helpful.Love that place.
This setting has a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. The open living room/dining area/kitchen was conducive for good family interaction. The grandchildren enjoyed the swing, ping pong, and roasting wieners and marshmellows in rock lined fire ring. The adults enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sunset. The property caretaker was very friendly. We had to go shopping the same day we arrived to purchase TP, etc. There were only seven towels for 8 people staying 3 nights. We did not appreciate and were offended by the name of the Wi-Fi system.
Once again we had a great time in the mountains. The weather was perfect and the views were spectacular....everything we needed was there, just like being at home....we will be back again in the Fall.....Bill & Brenda, Amelia Ialand, FL
