Wai’ula’ula at the newly renovated and reopened Mauna Kea Resort, located on the Big Island of Hawaii, is a unique residential community, complete with luxurious condominiums, as well as family oriented activities. The homes are situated in a private and peaceful setting, the perfect locale for your tranquil retreat.

Our Poli Ahu condominium (named after the Hawaiian goddess) is a second story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath duplex, with almost 2,500 sq. ft of living space and panoramic ocean and golf course views. Our home is designer decorated with mahogany wood trim and stone finishes throughout. The workmanship, details and furnishing details are unrivaled by any of the resorts in the area.

Our home includes a covered lanai (patio) complete with a wet bar, SubZero under-counter refrigerator and a built-in Wolf stainless steel gas barbecue and rotisserie.

There are two master suites, both of which feature coffered ceilings and walk in closets. The master baths boast soaking tubs and spacious walk-in stone and glass showers. In addition to the third bedroom our living room has a pull out king sofa sleeper allowing you to sleep 8 comfortably. To enhance your travel experience each room is fitted with a European style plush pillow top bed and a choice of hypo-allergenic soft and medium pillows.

The Hale ‘Ikena Amenity Center is exclusive to Wai’ula’ula homeowners and guests, and is the epitome of a fitness, swimming and activity center. Surrounded by a dramatic infinity edge pool which reaches towards the Pacific, there are shallow water sunning areas as well as oversize lounges for relaxing while enjoying the view of the horizon. This is the idyllic spot for a heart-pumping workout, a lazy day at the pool, or even a dinner party using the poolside kitchen or barbeque.

Enjoy all the amenities of the world-renowned Mauna Kea Resort, including easy access to beautiful white sand beaches (includes lounge chairs and towels) , award-winning golf courses (hotel guest rates), tennis courts (hotel guest rates), fitness centers, spas, restaurants, as well as hotel concierge services. There is a fee for resort amenity access which you pay directly to the resort.

Mauna Kea is located along the beautiful and famed Kohala Coast. This area of the island is quiet and peaceful, yet only a thirty minute drive from the airport. The towns of Kawaihae and Waimea are conveniently close, five and twenty minutes respectively, with each offering a wide variety of dining and shopping options.

Our family of four love our Vacation home in Wai'ula'ula. We have visited the entire west coast of the Big Island from South Kona to Puako on the Kohala Coast for nearly 30 years. We found that we love the Mauna Kea resort area. At the Mauna Kea Resort we have the best of both worlds; a luxury hotel with all of the Amenities at our beck and call and the ability to be completely on our own and away from all of the rush at our own luxury vacation home at the lowest density development on the Big Island - Wai'ula'ula. We could not find a better place to indulge ourselves in sun bathing, surfing, and golf. There is not a better way to lose yourself in your vacation!

Our family has been visiting the western side (dry side) of the Big Island for nearly 30 years. Most of our fondest family memories have been from the heady moments of our first snorkeling experience, surfing with dolphins and sea turtles, tennis on the most beautiful courts in the world, our first golf lesson and relaxing on the Mauna Kea beach sipping Frederico's and watching the whales play and the sunset with a green flash! There is no other setting like this on the Hawaiian Islands
