This house is charming and has a rustic feel, but it is newly renovated, sporting a brand new, modern kitchen and all the modern conveniences -- wireless Internet, washer and dryer, DVD, TV, etc. Enjoy dinners out on the large screened porch. Take strolls or bike rides along the adjoining Shining Sea bike path. Short walk to the beach or to town (Woods Hole). Woods Hole is a bustling village with fine restaurants and shopping, as well as an aquarium, and beaches of all varieties (from quiet, desolate, to busy family beaches). It is also an internationally renowned center for marine biological research and there are interesting lectures almost every night of the week.
We had a great time staying in this roomy accommodation. It provided good access to all parts of Woods Hole on foot, including beaches, the center of town, and the bike path. The accommodation was spacious and convenient for large family gatherings. It was well equipped, making cooking a pleasure. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet during the time we were there at the end of the summer, adding to the enjoyment.
I have waited 40 years since my summer college job as MBL dining hall girl to come back to Woods Hole for an extended stay. It was everything I hoped it would be, thanks largely to the charming, comfortable house on the bike path. Its furnishings are basic, but it has everything you need. My tolerant husband was very willing to go along with my dream to immerse myself in Woods Hole once again, and he, too, fell immediately into the spirit of the place by spending hours perusing the fascinating collection of books in the house. We rode our bikes daily, enjoyed the gorgeous deck, and ate terrific dinners in the screened in porch. We loved being able to walk to the ferry to enjoy a few day trips to the Vineyard. Or into town for dinner. Anyone who likes cooking will love the well-appointed kitchen. Our bedroom felt a bit like a tree house to me when we awoke to the singing mockingbirds. And I can recommend highly starting each day with a luxurious outdoor shower!
Enjoy the character of a home that has been loved by the same family for a number of years. It felt like home to us.
We had a fabulous time in this home full of all the best luxuries and amenities! Beautiful gourmet kitchen and updated bathrooms made us all comfortable and happy!! The main room was full of light and a perfect place to play games and just unwind after a day at the beach. Eating dinner in the screened in porch with twelve was fantastic and very nice because the bugs stayed out and the cool breeze made us feel like we were out in the lush backyard! Easy walk on the path to Woods Hole and my daughters ONLY wanted to take showers using the outdoor shower!! Loved that it was warm water! We would definitely stay again and again. So comfy and nice you'll want to LIVE here!! The Fines also were so responsive to any and all questions. One of our best VRBO experiences!! Don't miss out!!
Three of us stayed at this home from July 7 to 14th, 2012. We were in Woods Hole to work with students at the Marine Biology Labs; this was a perfect location.
With the Consent of Liz, the manager, we hosted a faculty/student get together at the beginning of the Neurobiology Courses at the Lab. Very successful, due to the layout of the home...great kitchen, wonderful outdoor space, screened in porch with dining table for at least 12.
And of course, the guests were wonderful as well. :)
Liz could not have been more helpful. We did not make many special requests, but when we did, she always consented.
The home is just off the Shining Sea Bike Path. We could access it from the opening beside the yard. For our purposes, fantastic location.
Liz, we will be coming back next year and will secure the rental as soon as they tell us when the Neurobiology Courses will be held in 2013. Thanks a Million.
My wife and I choose this beautiful house for a 10 month stay in WoodsHole .
I stayed here during the week and would have my family visit often during weekends and some Holidays.
This home is kid friendly and also ideal for couples stays.
The bike/ walking trail is very close. The trail will bring you down to the vilage in 15 minutes. You can spend days visting aquariums, shops and taking the ferry to Martha's Vinyard. Of course daily morning visits to Pie in the Sky for the best coffee and muffins is easy.
The home is very clean and comfy. The kitchen is great for Thanksgiving which we spent here.
The owner is great and very responsive.
I would recommend this property.
We just got back from a wonderful week here. The downstairs is spacious and inviting - with welcoming family style indoor and outdoor dining. The living room looks out on the woods - a great way to wake up with a cup of coffee and of course the new kitchen is fantastic. Since we were only my husband and I and a baby, we all slept peacefully upstairs. My only minor comment was that the stairs are rather steep so extra care was given to carrying our son up and down - a consideration if you have older family members or young children. The owner responded to all of our needs promptly and kindly. We look forward to returning.
