Beautiful condo with a spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

Just finished up our 7-day visit to Puerto Vallarta. This condo really does live up to the high marks given by other reviewers. Spacious, well-equipped, spotlessly clean, views of the ocean to the front and the mountains in back, plenty of cross-breeze, and air conditioning for when the breeze isn't enough.

The property staff was courteous and helpful. We were there in late October, low season, and felt like we had the pool and beach practically to ourselves.

Advice if you're new to the area and traveling from the U.S.: Everything is cheaper if you pay in pesos, and many places don't take credit cards. There's a little row of banks with ATMs just next door, and the transaction fees are cheap. Get pesos and spend like a local.

More advice: Do the Los Veranos Canopy Tour zipline. Our 3 kids (9, 11, and 15) and my wife (who is deathly afraid of heights) and I had the time of our lives. The bus ride there and the location are beautiful.

More advice: Get the fresh salsa from the Soriana grocery store, which is just a few blocks to the north. It's worth the walk, but if you want to take a cab it will only cost you a few bucks.

Family down time

  • 4 of 5

The condo is spacious and well appointed. Being on the 4th floor meant a beautiful ocean view and the sound of waves. The staff were very friendly and available. The security set up was great. We walked to a few large grocery stores (Sorianas, Sams, Walmart) and taxis were always around for a 50 peso ride back. The new La Isla mall is very close by and had some wildlife displays. There is a volleyball net set up on the beach and chairs with palapas for shade. The owner has many extra helpful details and was very available during the stay.

It's that special!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 8 nights in mid-June at Skip's property and LOVED it! The moment we walked in, we were met with an incredible view of the pools and ocean just beyond the giant sliding glass. The condo was immaculate and beautifully appointed. Even more important, when we had questions about the TV or AC, Skip was quick to respond and get the issues resolved. There was plenty of space for our family of four. The master bedroom had a comfortable bed, the master bathroom was luxurious with a jacuzzi tub. There is a slider facing east from the master bedroom that creates a great breeze when the slider from the west side is also opened. Our two teens had plenty of space. When we closed off the den area, it created another bedroom (with its own AC), so both teens had their own rooms. We spent a lot of time down at the pools. Everything was expertly maintained by their pool and grounds crew. It was pure serenity to relax near the pool in the giant circular loungers. The beach is just beyond the pools. One night we watched as a tortoise laid her eggs right on the beach. We also loved the location in PV. We were close enough to the marina that we could walk there for a boat tour. We could also walk to the grocery story or Walmart for supplies. I have been recommending this place to everyone I know. It's that special!

Great Family Escape!

  • 4 of 5

The condo had everything we needed. The pool and the views are the best in Puerto Vallarta. The beach is quiet and well kept. There's lots of Day activities and you can swim in the pool until 10. So you can go to dinner and come back for a night swim. The condo is beach front and we were able to watch cruise ships entering and leaving Banderas Bay. We enjoyed our time and would love to return.

Fantastic 4th Floor Condo

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Skip and his partners for allowing us to stay in their beautiful condo. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. My husband and I loved the 4th floor view and wonderful cross-breeze that came through the patio doors. There was no need to run the air. As soon as we arrived we walked down to Soriana's, picked up groceries, got a taxi ride back and then settled in. The bedrooms are located on the street side so you will hear street noise at times throughout the night, even with the doors shut. A $20 sound machine would easily block that out if you want to bring that along. We appreciated the elevators as they were so fast. We never had to wait longer than seconds for an elevator, even if one was coming down from the 23rd floor. We enjoyed the pool but most of our time was spent under a palapa on the beach but we found out very quickly if we didn't reserve one with a couple chairs with our towels by 8:00 a.m., there were none to be had, but that's typical. It was fun to see the sky-divers come in for a landing right on our beach, as the sky-diving school is close by. We enjoyed watching cruise ships and the nightly fireworks to the north. Lots of vendors on the beach, as usual, but we are accustomed to that. Maggy's is a little snack place in Tower 1, which came in handy for meals, beer and umbrella drinks. I recommend the shrimp tacos and a Pina-Colada. Waiters do go out around the pool and even out on the beach to take orders. At the Krystal Resort next door, you can walk in right off the beach and eat at their restaurant. Many restaurants within walking distance: La Choperia, The Outback, several pizza places by the amusement park and several eating places in the huge, beautiful mall a block away. A deli next door is more of a mini-mart with lots of items besides food. If you're looking for fine dining may I suggest the Vista Grille in PV on the Malecon. DO visit the Malecon. The Marina is a 10 minute taxi ride with several restaurants. Ride the elevator to the top of the light house for a great view and drink. Finally, I feel absolutely safe in Mexico. The P.V. traffic is the biggest safety issue, I think. Don't buy into the media hype about Mexico being unsafe but if you're looking for trouble, you can find it anywhere. My husband and I travel south every year and have never felt at risk. Overall, a fantastic stay in Skip's condo. Thank-you! We tried to take care of it as if it were our own. (We wish!)
