Kohala Coast Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Enjoy your stay at this Hawaiian plantation style villa across the lake from the King's Shops and a short walk to the scenic Anaeho'omalu Bay. The villa is located on the 14th hole of the world class Beach Course in the heart of the Waikoloa Resort. Get ready to unlock the door to your luxury vacation retreat.

You will open the door to walk across a marble threshold to see a beautifully set glass dining table. Looking further into the living room is an inviting chenille sofa and walls adorned with landscapes by a local Hawaiian artist. As you walk past the koa clock, you will find a modern kitchen with mahogany cabinets and granite counter tops. Don't miss breakfast on the peaceful lanai as you watch the sunrise over Mauna Kea.

Our favorite room, the master bedroom suite looks over the well manicured bermuda grass of the second fairway, facing the ancient Kohala Volcano. The room is styled with decor from Tommy Bahama. In the master bathroom, relax in the Jacuzzi soaking tub after a long day in the sun. The guest bedroom, described as 'comfortable and elegant', has a queen-size bed featuring a light down comforter and featherbed with an adjacent spacious bathroom.

On location at The Fairway Villas, enjoy your time at the infinity edge pool and elevated waterfall spa, use the fully equipped exercise room, or barbeque at the poolside picnic area.

About James and Stacy Lynn

We both grew up on the coast of California so the beach has been part of our lives from the beginning. We were married on the island in 2002 and have been coming back together since. The Big Island has definitely become part of our life as a couple. Now, as our family has grown we continue to spend time here with our children. We enjoy all the outdoor activities from snorkling, golf, tennis, hiking and especially whale watching. We hope that you and your family will enjoy and appreciate it as much as we do.

Why James and Stacy Lynn chose Kohala Coast

We stumbled upon The Fairway Villas during it's construction in April of 2003 while on our second honeymoon. We had some time on our hands prior to our departure when we stopped at the King's Shops on our way to the airport. We knew that we wanted a place to escape our busy lives in the Bay Area. After returning home, a week of no sleep, and hours of conversation we decided to take the plunge to make Hawaii our second home. Since then, we have visited as often as 5-6 times a year along with sharing our visits with friends and family.

What makes this condo unique

We enjoy the proximity to all the amenities of the resort area. We always take a snorkel or sunset cruise with Ocean Sports right out of A-Bay. They are friendly and consistently give great service. Most of all, we love to golf on the local courses and play tennis at the Hilton.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a nice time at your condo, thanks so much for sharing with us. The location was great, we were able to walk with the kids to the beach and the resorts without any trouble. Thanks for getting the light in the bathroom replaced while we were there. We hope to return again. Thanks, Kathy and Earl Jennings

Kona Marathon

  • 5 of 5

This was a fantastic place to stay! We chose this location because it was within walking distance of the start and finish of the Kona Marathon. We were so happy to be there. It felt like it was home to us, everything we needed was available, they even had beach equipment. It was easy to walk to get groceries, go to the beach, and to go out for meals. We had a couple of questions while we were there and had speedy responses from the owners. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Perfect home away from home in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Everything was exactly as described, lovely two bedroom condo, facing golf course. Furniture was modern and Hawaii appropriate, with lots of closet and drawer space. Kitchen is better equipped than home, something for everyone. Reserved parking space made this much easier, as the complex is busy with visitors and homeowners alike. Home has overhead fans and AC, however we never used this to the breezes throughout the day and evening. There were no issues for which we would have contacted the homeowner.

Great 2 bedroom Condo, Close to Grocery, Shops, the Bay & Hapuna Beach! =)

  • 5 of 5

We rented this condo for 10 nights in 2013, and had a great vacation. This review is very late b/c we didn't submit it immediately and then forgot until we just went to VRBO to book another rental and found the confirmation from Stacy in our email for this rental (sorry Stacy & James!!). We had to select April, 2015 b/c the VRBO review calendar didn't go back that far! :O

Owners were responsive and the condo was clean, well-furnished (furniture wise and with cookware/glassware/etc.) and well-located. You could walk to the grocery, shops, restaurants, beach, Marriott, etc. I noticed that someone complained that you couldn't walk to the beach -- puzzling -- we walked to the beach at the Bay every day -- through the outdoor mall (which often had free outdoor concerts) and around or thru the Marriott. The location on the map is accurate -- it's a comfortable 2 bedroom in Waikoloa, and for the price, with free parking, sure it's not waterfront, but that would come at a huge premium that this condo doesn't charge.

We, too, had a problem with the A/C, but it was our fault for not having the sliding door closed all the way. A quick call to Stacy and James and we realized our mistake and the condo cooled right off. I actually liked and appreciated this "environmentally friendly" feature. :)

We wouldn't hesitate to book this condo again.

Pro tip: it is a short ~15 minute drive to Hapuna Beach (imo one of the best beaches in Hawaii), at a fraction of the cost of a room at the Prince Hotel.

Pro tip #2: Hapuna charges a parking fee, but had not in our previous visits, so we went with just a credit card & no cash -- thankfully the parking attendant showed us mercy and let us park on the 1st day for free! Don't be us... bring a few dollar$ to the beach. ;-)

Nice and quiet

  • 4 of 5

I very much enjoyed my stay because the neighbors were quiet, the lanai faced the peaceful side of the complex, and I could walk to the grocery store! Being alone on this trip I also liked the 2nd story location for safety reasons. I didn't appreciate the prior tenants leaving their recycling, but chalk it up to vacation mode.

Great place to stay on a sunny side of the Big Island

  • 5 of 5

First I want to tell you that we've had an outstanding time in this condo, there are couple of earlier not-so-happy reviews are so disappointing. We are frequent visitors to Hawaii and this place is great. You have luxury and grocery shops, golf, beach, sunset, everything is within few minutes walk! Fairway Villas location is one of the best, probably THE BEST in Waikoloa village resort area.

Condo was clean, well maintained and owners addressed couple of very minor issues that we've noticed. Golf field view from lanai is peaceful, Weber grills just a couple of minute walk. If you want to enjoy great beach with even better snorkeling - drive to Beach 69 10 minutes away at Poipu turn (Google it).

For groceries you can walk to the supermarket across the road or, for better prices, drive to Foodland store at Mauna Loa resort area. For everything else - read blue "Big Island Revealed" book, available everywhere.

And one more note - don't use AC - just open windows and doors, keep mosquito screens closed, you'll like it more than AC.

We love staying in this condo. It is so convenient to things we like to do, such as hiking, beaches, good restaurants, shopping. Nicely equipped and always clean and comfortable.
