About Steven Coppa

We are a family of four. A Mommy, a Daddy and two boys. We moved to Colorado in 2003 and never want to leave. We try to come up to Granby Ranch whenever we get the chance. Mommy and Daddy met in North Dakota a long time ago and have since lived an Arkansas, Florida (2 times) and Ft Collins, CO. We like all outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, skiing (although Daddy thinks he is a snowboarder and Mommy doesn't like going downhill to much). fishing and kayaking. I just learned to ski at Granby Ranch last year and now I can go down the greens all by myself. This year is my brother's turn to learn and hopefully by next summer we will both be riding the pump track on our mountain bikes. I might even be able able to keep up with Daddy down Nature's Way. Last month I caught my first trout in the fishing pond in Granby and hiked along the Frasier river with Daddy and Brownie. But sometimes at night or when it's cold we just like to snuggle by the fire place, watch movies and drink coco. No matter what we are doing we always have fun as a family up here.

Why Steven Coppa chose Granby

Back in February 2010 we spent a weekend at a friend’s condo nearby. Daddy was working on his mad snowboarding skills at Granby Ranch and wasn’t quite ready for Winterpark yet after several years off. Mommy was down at the base tubing and playing king of the mountain with my brother and I. Mommy checked out the open house at Base Camp One. I think she went to it for the free cheese and wine. When Daddy got down in one piece, Mommy dragged him on a tour of the condos. They weren’t even looking for a place to buy at the time but they immediately fell in love with the place and made an offer. I don’t think at that time they even new about all the cool things that we could do at Granby Ranch and Grand County. Every time we visit we discover more amazing things to do up here. I’ve learned so much about outdoor activities and nature that I never knew existed. I’ve made lots of friends especially around the fire pits at night when we make Smores and run around the base camp. Our family has so much fun here all year round.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Steve and Audra, We had a great time at your place. It was so beautiful and nice. It was a memorable occasion because we got to celebrate my son’s 4th birthday and his first time skiing. Thanks for the great memories. Kris and Stacy

Wonderful clean condo with everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

The condo was wonderful - very clean and had everything we needed to cook some meals in. The pool and hot tub were very nice too. Balcony was great to sit out on. Steve was very prompt and thorough with communication prior to our stay. Check in was very easy. Thanks so much - we really enjoyed our stay!!

Gorgeous place!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over the weekend for a wedding (ceremony was on top of the mountain and the reception was back at the lodge next door). The unit is lovely, very clean, and quite spacious. Everything was very clear in the check in, check out instructions and we had zero issues during our stay. No A/C, but it's very cool at night and there are window fans. Loved it! Would absolutely stay here again if we're ever back in town.

Clean and modern apartment

  • 5 of 5

Steve and Audra's place is a great all season spot. We went in the summer so didn't experience the pleasures of staying "on site" at the base of the ski lift. However, it's a location that can be enjoyed anytime of year. There is a gorgeous heated lap pool and outdoor sauna for guests and you can ride the ski lift up to the top and hike around from the top. We attended a wedding that was held in an aspen grove at the top of the ski lift that was absolutely magical. Every day we went out hiking in Rocky National Park. We would especially recommend the Adams Falls hike and then continuing on to the East Inlet Trail. This trail, although a RMNP trail is located just outside of Grand Lake, so you don't have to pay the entrance fee to the park. Both trails are rated as "easy" - some elevation getting to the falls but then the East Inlet Trail walk is moderately flat and some spectacular scenery with large meadows and rivers at the base of the mountains. We even saw a mother moose with her baby hiding out in the meadow.

The apartment is very comfortable and well appointed. Exactly as you see in the photos. What you see is what you get!

Car: recommended

Despite what the map shows, our condo is not on the airport. It is at Base Camp One at Granby Ranch ski resort, right next to the ski lodge about 1.5 miles south of the town of Granby.

Golf: Grand County is home to four golf courses including the Jack Nicklaus-redesigned Headwaters Golf Course located right at Granby Ranch.

Ski: Ski Granby Ranch Ski Resort is literally in our back yard and offers excellent family mountain fun year round. Enjoy sking, hiking and biking or just take the lift up to discover amazing panoramic views. Winter Park and Mary Jane ski resorts are only 20 minutes away by bus or car and with many more Colorado ski resorts located within an hour and a half we really are in the center of it all.
