Maybe not the swankiest, but this single-level, rustic cabin has captured family memories for the last 60 years. Located on an entire lake-front acre, this private retreat boasts fabulous views of the lake and all it's natural habitat four-seasons a year. This historic cabin has been the venue for many family reunions, bachelor and bachelorette parties, hunting and fishing trips, girls getaways, serene relaxation retreats, and family holiday get togethers. It is now available for rent so you, too, can enjoy all of the mystical, rustical, and fun-filled memories awaiting you on beautiful Rainbow Lake. This retreat is full of character and invites you to come in, relax, and have a great time. You don't want just a vacation - you want an experience!!!
The location on Rainbow lake is great. The prevailing wind comes across the lake and keeps the porch and lakeside yard cool even on a 90 degree day in Pinetop. The house is roomy enough for 8 people and there is good separation between the bedrooms. There are no close neighbors and the street dead ends at the house so there was almost no traffic. It's close to the main road so going to the store is a quick trip. It was properly stocked with all of the household items you would need. Although the rest of the house was clean the kitchen floor was very dirty. The sliding door and sliding screen to the deck were both messed up and it was a pain to open and close either. My little ones couldn't do it by themselves. The cabin has 4 big elk/deer heads as decoration. Animal carcasses are not my decorating style and they were very prominent in the main room. Those 3 negatives knocked it down to 3 stars. We had a great time at the cabin and I would consider booking it again. As a side note Rainbow Lake currently has a weed problem. It does not impact the view but the fishing would be terrible.
While the adults relaxed with coffe in the morning and drinks in the evening on the deck and fussed over what to eat, the children played hard. They Rode their bikes, traversed the rocks to spend hours on end in the lake. Fished from the waters edge. Fed the mama geese and ducks with their trailing babies. Played as though they were living in the woods. Collected pine cones, watched the stars from blankets on the lawn, had a massive water balloon fight on the same lawn. Ate smores and played UNO until everyone had won at least twice. We played hard and slept hard and enjoyed every minute.
This cabin has it all... even a pet dish if you needed one. AMAZING!!!! - Houck family
This was better then pictured! Just perfect! The lake was five steps away and Jeanine team ducks and geese was a bonus! The information folder was fabulous and very helpful to say the least.
Amanda made this last minute trip so perfect! Nice and easy and awesome communication !
We went with our three teenagers 16,15 and 13. They loved fishing again and being able to do so on such a great property, they want to move there.
We can not wait to go back again!
Thank you very much Amanda!

Great vacation home with everything you need. Clean and welcoming. There is a view of the lake from many places in the house, including the front wall of the master bedroom (which also has its own deck). Nice sized deck with table for dining while you watch the lake if you want. There is a lawn covering the yard facing the lake that is amazing. The girls ran, played and danced on it daily. Two ducks call the lawn home, but we had a great geese migration one afternoon as well. Perfect place to go and get unplugged. Fish from the shore line or wade in for a dip (lots of large rocks). Secluded but still very close to everything including restaurants, shopping (antiques to Walmart), horses (Porter Mountain stables), and multiple other lakes (saw a bald eagle at Hawley Lake, but were told there was one in our own tree that very afternoon). We stayed a week and would have loved to stay the summer. Great family vacation or get away for anyone.
We had a great time! This place was a perfect weekend getaway. This cabin is fully stocked with everything imagineable. I truly enjoyed and would love to come back next year!
We really enjoyed our stay at your property. The quiet, the nice weather and the relaxing atmosphere made for a wonderful time and the accomodations were top notch. The views are magnificent from both the patio off the family room and the patio at the master bedroom. The yard and grounds are well kept and the green lawn looks great against the backdrop of the lake. It was nice to have all the extra room and the additional bathrooms meant everyone could get ready at the same time. You have a very nice place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
