Beachside Family Getaway! 3 Doors From Beach Access. Fantastic!!!!

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,550 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 180 nights

About the property

House, 3+ Br, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8), SOOOO close to the almost private beach

We are completely booked this summer. Thanks to all those who enjoy our home every year!

Wonderfully decorated and renovated. Third house from the beach. Very spacious. New refinished wood flooring throughout in 2014. New windows in 2015 and resided the whole exterior in 2016. It's never looked this good!

We have another rental for a multifamily getaway. See it here: vrbo #395829

You will love this newly renovated cottage, 'Sea Escape'. It is so close to the ocean, the beach will feel like it's in your front yard. The beach is only stone's throw from the front door. Once on the beach you will find a majestic, panoramic view of 9 islands (one with a lighthouse), Saco River inlet with a jetty to climb on and fish from, etc. If you have a boat, bring it!

An outside shower is fun to use or just rinse the kids off...

Hill's Beach is very quiet and just far enough to get away from all the tourist beaches. For the most part, the only people who frequent this area of beach are those who live on the street, approximately 10 houses. So the large, sandy beach is almost all yours!

If you have kids (like our family), you will enjoy the peace of mind being on a side street with very little traffic and the large yard for the kids to run and play while they wait for the short walk to the beach.

It looks small from the outside, but it is over 1500 sq. feet. Completely furnished and renovated with washer/dryer. It is an all season 3 bedroom home, air conditioning and wood floors, fully applianced kitchen.

Note: Linens are not provided. Signed rental agreement must be submitted after booking.

Thanks! Hope you get to enjoy Maine this summer!

Great location, practically private beach.

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a great location. It's a quiet beach neighborhood, but only 15-20 minutes away from Old Orchard and lots of other activities with little traffic on the way. And of course it's literally a 1 minute walk to the beach. The beach is great for young kids who want to collect shells (at low tide you can walk hundreds of feet out) and make castles. Also great if you want to just hang out and relax as most days there was hardly anyone around. But if you have older kids who want to boogie board they'll be disappointed as there are no real waves; the beach is protected by a breakwater.

We had two adults, three kids and a dog and there was plenty of room for all, we never felt cramped. The backyard was ready to go for a campfire with plenty of wood stacked. The interior is dated and a bit worn but clean. The kitchen was well stocked. If I had any complaints it would be the hard bed in the master bedroom, which left both my wife and I waking up sore. It would also be nice to have a larger propane grill to BBQ on instead of the small charcoal grill that is in the back.

Overall the location makes up for any of these minor nitpicks.

Spent 5 wonderful days

Excellent location and clean property. Highly recommend it. Only feedback is that the mattresses are too soft. Easy fix is to have a couple of low profile airbeds available.

Just right !

  • 5 of 5

The area is perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway far enough from the hussle yet never to far for a quick drive to a popular destination up or down the coast

The house itself is spacious , clean with all the ammeneties included that a family would need

and only steps from the beach

Jonathan the owner is a class act and is a pleasure to deal with , he is slways available for questions and replies in a timely manner

We have been coming down to the area every summer from Montreal for many years and so far Sea Escape has us hooked ..... our 5 year old actually cries when its time to leave ... he loves it as we do ... accept we can hold back our tears

Hills Beach Maine Rental was awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We have never rented a beach house in Maine before and we really had no idea what to expect. End result was a awesome week right off the beach at the Sea Escape Cottage. It was all about the location with young children and ease of use and access between the cottage and the beach. The cottage had allot of room with A/C which helped a few days when it was really hot. Front and back porches which was great. Big yard and a outside shower that really needs a door. Overall, it was a great cottage to rent and location next to the beach so we will be back next year

Owner's Response: Thanks Sean. So glad you enjoyed your week! (And we will put a door on the outside shower.) :)

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our second time at Sea Escape. Best Location in Southern Maine. Great weather and memories. Property had been upgraded since our last visit. Would love to see a gas grill and some upgraded kitchen supplies. But still an awesome place to stay.

Family Get Together

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. Family from as far away as Wisconsin were there. Lots of room inside. Big common spaces were appreciated. The front porch with the water view and ceiling fan was a favorite hangout. Being able to walk to the beach was priceless. No parking hassles. And we walked to Buffleheads, just down the street, for a great meal outside overlooking the water. A great home base or daytime excursions. The one regret is that we only had 1 week of vacation.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We recently spent Labor Day weekend at Sea Escape. We were very fortunate. The weather was wonderful and Sea Escape provided the comfortable setting in which to enjoy it! Due to Hurricane "Irene", our plans were rather "last minute" and the owners were very helpful in arranging them. Sea Escape is larger than it appears in the pictures with most of the rooms quite roomy! The street is quiet and provides easy beach access. A nice feature are the updates with dishwasher, washer and dryer, etc.
