Sports & Adventure Activities
Other than the beds being firmer than I am used to, I really enjoyed the cabin.
WOW, that's all you can say about this place. It's location just a few feet from the river made it the highlight of our vacation. Glacier National Park literally starts in the middle of the river outside the house. It's not far at all from Whitefish and Kalispell, and just a few miles from the park entrance. Unfortunately there was a burn ban in affect while we were there, but sitting outside by the river, next to a fire would be ideal. We will definitely be staying here again. Already recommended it to two of our friends!
A little tough to find but worth the search. Clean. Very well equipped. Owner was very responsive. Beautiful outdoor spaces to view the creek. Very comfortable beds and furnishings. Highly recommend. Would return in a minute.
Comfortable with a lovely river view
The chalet is very comfortable and spacious. Great kitchen. Lovely views from inside. The outdoor space is beautiful; enjoyed watching the river and grilling our dinner outside. Appreciated the touches that made it feel like a Montana cabin and like home. Very private and quiet. Was a little worried about finding the location. The owner's directions were spot on and we had no difficulty.
Heaven on the Flathead River
This was our 4th time staying in this amazing very private cabin and we plan to return again. We were blessed to stay this year for 2 weeks. The peace and tranquility from the front deck overlooking the North Fork of the Flathead River into a remote part of West Glacier is unparalleled. We saw deer, bald eagles, geese, mergansers, and a bear from the deck (across the water). We saw a moose just before arriving at the cabin and always get great pleasure feeding the hummingbirds. The cabin is a short 10-15 minute drive to the entrance of West Glacier or the grocery store in Columbia Falls or to Hungry Horse. The cabin is very well stocked with an abundance of kitchen equipment, 2 bathrooms with many linens, and we always appreciate the presence of the washer and dryer. We cooked all evening meals on the amazing outside gas grill while fishing from the bank. A highlight of our trip each time is to rent a raft, put in 15 miles upstream, and to float right by the cabin on the north fork of the Flathead River to Blankenship
Bridge. The owner is local and very available and responsive. Definitely a spot of heaven.
A River Runs Through It
Our week at the Chalet will go down in family history as one of our most memorable vacations. While we set out on hikes every day, we couldn't wait to return to the welcoming house in the evening, sit out on the deck, and watch the river flow. Although our La La Land adult children love LA's gourmet restaurant culture, we cooked every meal in-house, taking full advantage of the well-equipped kitchen and gas grill, as well as the seemingly endless daylight (which did pose a problem for us in the upstairs bedroom at 5:30 am with no curtains).
This was a magical week for us in Glacier, as our younger son proposed to his wonderful girlfriend of 4 years at the top of our Two Medicine Lake hike. The lake grew deeper with our tears of joy, a 300 lb grizzly bear -- more interested in fish than in humans -- appeared at the boat launch to wish the happy couple good luck, and the Chalet bubbled that evening with a Champagne sunset.
Located on the wild and scenic North Fork of the Flathead River, which is the western border to Glacier National Park.
