Guestbook comments from the owner

I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our visit in your lovely mountain home! It is more lovely than we could have imagined, and the internet does not do it justice. Our visit to Montana was more enjoyable than last time, and we did a lot more than three years ago. We contribute most of that to where we stayed! We rented a raft and floated down the Flathead, road horses at Many Glacier, hiked to Avalanche Falls and Hidden Lakes, went to Polebridge (one of our favorite places) twice, saw bears, a moose, eagles, ground squirrels, chipmunks, many many hummingbirds, beavers. I could go on and on!!

Peace, Solitude, Magnificient Surroundings and Memories

  • 5 of 5

When my Husband suggested that I would love Montana as much as Alaska and that we should visit, I thought to myself ... I am always up for adventure. But nothing could ever compare to Alaska. Several health scares with my Husband and we were not sure if this trip would ever happen. Steve and Kathy kept in constant contact and assured me that there was no rush to make a decision and wished for a speedy recovery. Well, we made it to the cabin and I could sit here and type all the words in the dictionary to describe the amazing scenery but there is never a picture that tells the memories of the heart. The cabin is tucked directly on the river bank and you hear nothing but Nature. You see nothing but the unfolding granduer of Glacier National Park. The first morning we wake up to a beautiful Elk crossing the clear, flowing river. We both couldn't grab our cameras fast enough to see what other jewels Nature would bestow upon us. As the fog began to lift, 7 deer crossing the river to the front of the cabin. I made a new friend, Pip the Chipmunk, who visited me most mornings and even joined me on the porch for an afternoon reading. I couldn't believe that we had not only found a cabin on the river at the base of Glacier National Park but we found a place to call home for the week we were here. This trip wasn't just a trip for us. My Father-in-law had passed 3 years ago and his and our Mother's one dream was to see the beauty of Montana. The best we could do was bring our Mother so that she too could experience the magnificient beauty that this Glacier Chalet and Glacier itself had to share with us. We spent two days in the Park and after 1400 pictures we still feel like our pictures could never capture the memories we were blessed to experience. This home was the base for our creating memories that will always be the foundation of Montana for us. We wanted for nothing!!! A Cabin filled with all the comfort of a home. A beautiful deck that provided a view that a magazine couldn't capture and a solid foundation for hearts filled with memories. A true blessing of Nature this home, the scenery and Nature offered to us. I learned that Alaska holds a major part of my heart but thank you to Steve, Kathy and The Glacier Chalet for allowing Montana to be placed right beside Alaska!!! ♡♡♡♡

Beautiful log cabin near Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was a great place to stay while in the Glacier National Park area.

Very clean with all of the amenities expected in a Rental home. We loved being on the river and the views are really nice. It was rainy and chilly, so we had a fire inside each night, which made the cabin so cozy. We cooked in the kitchen, which had everything we needed. I hope I can stay at this cabin again sometime! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Animals galore

  • 5 of 5

You can't beat the view. What a treat to see all the deer and elk and beavers and otters... too many animals to count. Fabulous house. The only thing I wished for was a better Internet connection. But that's not the purpose of vacation. It forced me to disconnect.

Great stay at a beautiful location

Lovely log house at an ideal, quiet spot on the bend of the Flathead River. Mr. Thomas is great to deal with and responds quickly to renters questions and requests.

Very good...

Place was clean and just as advertised. Easy access to Glacier Park local businesses. Road in was a little rough due to recent rains but cabin was great. Only suggestion I would have is to put a TV downstairs....
