Nestled in the original section of Kiawah on a quiet street with a beautiful ocean view is this spacious five bedroom, three bath home. Freshfields, the Straw Market and all Island facilities are only a short walk or bike ride away. The ocean access is directly across from the house.
This is a large wooded lot, which backs up to other heavily wooded lots, with assorted wildlife (deer, raccoons, etc.) in the backyard. This comfortably furnished house features one king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, and two bedrooms with twin beds. The king and queen bedrooms are on the front with a limited ocean view. These three large beds all have new deep luxurious mattresses. A living room with a fireplace and 46' flat screen TV opens on to a screened-in porch in front of the living room and the dining room with a Charleston Forge dining room table, chairs, and corner shelves. Adjacent to the dining room is a glassed-in sunroom with a 42:' flat screen TV, dining (a glass-top table with four chairs) and seating facing the ocean. This room opens onto a spacious screened-in porch with a comfortable seating area on one end and a dining group for six on the other end and 2 ceiling fans for comfort, and a stainless steel gourmet grill on a bricked area off the porch, and an outside shower.
The kitchen has just had a complete facelift with beautiful new cabinets, granite counters and decorative tile backsplash. It is fully equipped with stainless steel upscale appliances and pots and pans to cook for a crowd. There are many small appliances and equipment to make the job easier. A high chair and portable crib are located in the house. The house is centrally heated and cooled. Two flat screen TV's (46' in living room and 42' in sunroom) with digital cable, two DVD Blu Ray players are provided. The house is also equipped with a wireless DSL internet connection.
A $1000 deposit per week is required to reserve the home. The balance is required four (4) weeks prior to your arrival. Summer rentals are from 4:00 pm Sunday through 11:00 am Sunday.

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it right in our backyard as we live in Columbia, S. C. Development is controlled so that a lot of the natural beauty and wildlife still abounds

My wife and I stayed here in September 2014. Just now getting around to sending out our appreciation for the wonderful time we had. As with the other reviews, we found the home well-stocked with kitchen amenities. We've stayed in a number of vacation rentals and this house has more than you can imagine for kitchen supplies. The convenience to the beach walkway right across the road on this very quiet cul-de-sac is a plus. We rented bicycles from one of the recommended businesses, had them delivered that morning, and picked up on our way out. We rode all over the place, including way up the beach and back. Deer roamed the yard on several occasions, and our dogs enjoyed their time at the beach. The owner was more than accommodating for our every need and questions. A gas grill out back is available for outdoor cooking, TVs in two locations, convenient bathrooms side-by-side for guests (which we had for two days), and an added bonus of having the local paper, the Charleston Post & Courier, delivered each day (BTW, this paper just won the top Pulitzer for 2015!)...this is a great vacation destination. Thank you.
Our family of 6 adults and 4 grandchildren, and our dog, were fortunate to stay 4 nights at this cozy, older Eugenia Avenue home. We have been coming to Kiawah for several years at Christmas time, renting newer, grander homes on the island. After arriving and checking everything out at this address, our children and grandchildren told us this was the best home yet. You would be hard pressed to find a better equipped kitchen. Having everything on one floor was great. The home is well kept. The beds are comfortable enough. The weather was warmer than we have experienced in past Decembers. There is a wonderful, shaded, screened- in back porch, as well as a smaller sunnier porch on the front side of the home. The path to the beautiful wide beach is just across the street from this home. We were back and forth to the beach the entire stay. The golf is superb and the restaurants and service are top notch. The owner, Meda, checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed. We are all looking forward to our next stay at this property.
Our family of 4 stayed at this ranch during Christmas and really enjoyed ourselves. The house is in a great location right across the street from beach access and everything was in working order (including the gas grill). The kids loved having their own bedrooms and it was nice that you could close a door leading to 3 of the bedrooms, so they could have quiet while we watched the morning news. The only hiccup (and the reason for only 4 stars) was that the house was not ready upon our arrival (a snafu with the cleaning folks); however, we went to the Village and enjoyed some appetizers and walking around to see the sights. The owners did offer a later check-out as a result of the snafu; however, we had to leave early to meet friends for lunch in Charleston and could not take advantage of the offer. The owners were great to deal with and very responsive. I certainly recommend this house if you are looking for a relaxing break and hope that we can stay again. Happy New Year!!!
We have been coming to Kiawah for 2 weeks almost every summer for the past 30 years - in the last 24 or so we have always rented #8 Eugenia except for a few summers when we didn't come at all.
Our group consists of extended family and we range from babies to people in their 80's.
This is a wonderful house to stay in and is perfect for us.
We love this house. It is in a great location - right across from the beach access and on a quiet end of Eugenia Ave. Our primary reason for coming to Kiawah is the beach and it is a very short walk across the road and through the access walk straight to the beach.
The owners have continued to update the house as the years have gone by, and it is very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen is well equipped. There are 2 large TV's, great sitting areas and large dining table for meals together. The beds are very comfortable and all bath towels and linens are provided (not beach towels).
There is internet access (wireless) - only slight issue is that it is sometimes a bit slow - but usually is fine.
We usually cook in but will occasionally enjoy a night out in Charleston or eating at the Fat Hen or Wild Olive or Gilligan's.
We have also enjoyed the plantation tours in years past (although it does get quite hot!) but mainly now just want to enjoy the beach.
I love working with the owner - very good response for anything we have ever needed. The house has always been ready for us.
I can't say enough about it! Our family always has a fantastic 2 weeks and I highly recommend staying here!
This spacious home was perfect for the needs of our multi-generational family group. It's location across the street from the beach provided easy access for small children and those of us who enjoy biking and walking on the beach.
The house was very clean with updated bathrooms and kitchen. The bedrooms and living area are a little dated with knotty pine walls which make the rooms dark. The living room in particular could use more light. However the kitchen is by far the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental property! The numerous appliances, pots and pans, dishes and glassware are top quality and include items that you would not expect, like a slow cooker.
One of the bathrooms had a walk in shower which was perfect for my 93 year old mother. Also the beds were low enough that she did not need a step stool to get into bed which can be a problem when we are traveling.
The owner was very nice and extremely responsive. We would definitely consider renting this property again. We felt that the rental price was very reasonable considering the location, size, and amenities of the property.
