Overview

San Francisco Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa has 3 separate casas, 2 to 7 Bedrooms, 8 Baths, (Sleeps 4 to 14)

Villa de Vistas is a luxurious, ecological paradise just five minutes from the beach and a twenty five-minute walk from the center of San Pancho. The Villa has three separate houses that can be rented together or individually. It is located on a stunning property overlooking the Pacific......a perfect destination for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty without compromising comfort...... ideal for family reunions, gatherings of friends, and life's celebrations. All three houses are artistically designed and beautifully furnished with vibrant Mexican fabrics, tiles, and museum quality arts and crafts.

Although there are many distinctive features at Villa de Vistas, these seem to be the most remarkable:

FIRST: ITS SHEER SIZE (over 8200 sq. ft.) and the thoughtful way in which the three houses and even the individual rooms are related to one another. This allows gracious spaces for groups to gather and many intimate locations for reading, reflecting, relaxing and quiet conversation.

SECOND: ITS POOL is unusually large for a vacation home in San Pancho. Not only that, but the pool was designed with families in mind. There is a large step where infants can splash in very shallow water -- a couple inches deep. There is a bench that wraps around the pool and is a delight to toddlers who can walk around and jump into their parents' arms. There is also a raised terrace which is perfect for older children to fly into the pool with masterful spins and loops. They land in water that is less than five feet deep. Also Casita Celestial has a PALAPA with its own dipping pool. Both pools can be heated for your comfort.

THIRD: ITS LOCATION. It's in the jungle, which has been tamed by a master gardener to create a botanical wonder and a home for exotic birds and native wildlife.

FOURTH: ITS GRACIOUSNESS AND AMENITIES. Each of the three kitchens has top-of-the-line appliances. All the bedrooms have king sized beds with excellent mattresses. The furniture throughout is tastefully chosen. The two televisions are large-screen, high definition with programming beamed in from Canada (and cities just across the border -- Detroit in the east, Spokane and Seattle in the west). Super high speed internet service (a rarity ion Mexico!). Pool toys. Firepit to SAFELY enjoy a campfire. Hammock. Three grills. Two cribs. Two high chairs. Children’s furniture. Full-time staff. Knowledgable, helpful, local, bi-lingual house managers. Chefs, massage therapists, baby sitters available.

"It's a veritable museum of exquisite Mexican crafts and arts."

FINALLY, THE DISTINCTIVE CHARACTER OF EACH OF THE THREE HOUSES:

HOUSE ONE: 3 BR (king) 4 BA - Sleeps 6

On the top of the hill, at street level is the main floor of the Big House, where you will find the spacious living room, dining room, kitchen (laundry and pantry), family room and guest bath. All of these rooms are essentially interconnected in one great open space. They have fabulous views of the jungle, beach and ocean. The kitchen and family room are air-conditioned.

Going UP the magnificent spiral staircase, you come to the Upper Terrace and the Master Suite with its luxurious marble bath and private sunning deck. Several of our guests have remarked that the master bath reminded them of a high-end spa.

Going DOWN the spiral staircase from the main floor you come to the bedroom floor with two large bedroom suites. One has a fabulous jungle and garden view and boasts a sitting area and dual showers; the other has a large terrace overlooking the ocean.

HOUSE TWO: 1 BR (king) 1BR (bunk), 1 BA - Sleeps 4

If you go DOWN one more flight of stairs you come to the pool deck. It is also from this level that you enter EL NIDO DE LA TORTUGA (The Nest of the Turtle), which is a completely contained home with about 900 square feet nestled under the “mother house.” The NIDO has its own kitchen, a sitting area, and is four steps from the large pool.

HOUSE THREE: 2 BR (both king suites) and 2 BA - Sleeps 4

If you go DOWN one more flight of stairs you come to the charming CASITA CELESTIAL (The Heavenly Little House) with its two bedroom suites, one celebrating the sun and the other celebrating the moon, a complete kitchen, a sitting area with its own television and DVD player. Also the CASITA has a PALAPA with a dipping pool that stays cool year around, except in the winter, when it can be heated.

Each of the three houses can be rented alone, but the entire villa is perfect for families and friends who are seeking a safe, luxurious, accommodating and beautiful vacation home.

Keywords: Villa with 3 Complete Homes, 7 Bedrooms, 8 Baths, stunning Ocean Views, 3 Heated Pools, easy walk to San Pancho Beach! Perfect for Celebrations, Reunions, Large or Small Gatherings.

About Melissa Roberts (and her husband Bill)

A note from Melissa and Bill Roberts: Even though you will have four marvelous hosts in our San Pancho staff, we want to take a moment and introduce ourselves to you.

We have lived most of our adult life in Middletown, Connecticut, where Melissa was a school social worker and Bill was a clergyman for the first half of his career and a consultant for the second half. In the 1970s we built a home on Cape Cod for our family -- we have three sons.

The Cape House was very important to our family, but as the boys grew up and moved away and had children of their own, we decided to sell that house and built a three-home complex in San Pancho, which is just perfect for our family and our hosting friends and renters.

Melissa Roberts (and her husband Bill) purchased this villa in 2009

Why Melissa Roberts (and her husband Bill) chose Nayarit

In 2006 two of our sons went on a surfing-scouting trip to the west coast of Mexico, found their way to San Pancho, and immediately fell in love with the town and the beach. A month later we rearranged some travel plans and went to check it out for ourselves. Well, we also loved the place. The Mexicans were very friendly and also very proud of their charming little town.

The Americans and Canadians we met seemed to respect the culture and value their relationships with the residents whose families, in some cases, had lived in San Pancho for over a hundred years. It seemed that this would be an ideal place to build a home for generations of our family.

We purchased this particular property with the hopes, just the hopes, that we might have a pretty good view of the ocean. As the construction progressed it became clearer and clearer that we would have not only 'a pretty good view,' but SPECTACULAR VIEWS of the ocean, the beach, the town (San Pancho), Sayulita in the distance, and, equally stunning, fantastic views of the jungle....from many different locations on the property. Although we originally called our home La Casa Que Canta, because it seemed to sing with the profundo of the ocean surf, the rustling of the palm leaves, and the chirping of the birds, we have renamed it the VILLA DE VISTAS -- the Villa of Views.

As you will see the property presented some challenges since it goes sharply downhill, but Melissa (with partial assistance from three different architects) was able to change those challenges into opportunities, which allows us to have three separate homes in very close proximity to one another.

What makes this villa unique

The unique benefit of renting the entire villa is that you have a lot of space in a secluded, secure, quiet setting.....with comfortably large areas for gatherings of many people......and lots of places for intimate conversations among just a few people....or just to rest and relax by yourself.

THREE FEATURES THAT YOU WILL JUST LOVE:

First, the pool, which has become the primary gathering place, is designed so children of all ages -- from infants to grandparents -- can feel safe as they play together. Infants can sit in a few inches of water and splash away. Toddlers can run around the benches and jump of the ledge. Adults can feel assured that their children are safe. Not only that, but the pool is heated in the winter, cooled by the rains and shade of the palm trees in the summer. And not only THAT, but there is a Jacuzzi right nearby.

Second, the VILLA DE VISTAS has a fire pit on the path along side of the CASITA CELESTIAL. It's a great place to light a little campfire, toast up s'mores, sing a song, tell a tale, and just reflect on the day, or the week or life itself. The palm trees which have been there for what seems like forever and the stars above put a little perspective on our human existence.

Finally, Melissa is a master gardener. Her garden in Connecticut is a showpiece. As soon as she concluded the oversight of the construction project, she turned her attention to the creation of an lush, tropical garden. She found native plants which are very happy in her garden.

THIS HOUSE IS ABSOLUTELY UNREAL!

  • 5 of 5

I had the good fortune to stay at La Villa de Vistas in May 2016 with a full house. There were 14 of us and we filled up the entire property (La Villa, El Nido & Casita Celestial) for a destination wedding. The town itself is amazing, and the house is most definitely the cherry on top! Everything about the house was just as described beforehand, except even better! You really can't believe it until you see it, but the intricacies inside are absolutely astounding. The art, the mosaics, the lighting, the decorations, just all of it. The amount of thought, planning and detail that went into the creation of this home is just amazing, and one of the highlights for me was reading through the book that documents it all. The folks that come and clean the home and do grounds-keeping are all very friendly and helpful, and the owners (The Roberts) helped us out massively beforehand by emailing us a very thorough packet of information with TONS of useful info including traveling to and from the airport, renting golf carts, great restaurants, what wildlife you may see, the drinking water situation, and way way more. I would most definitely recommend ANYBODY to stay here, except for these exceptions: it is decently far from the middle of town, so a golf cart is somewhat imperative; and there are tons of stairs, so be prepared to get your exercise in! If you can handle the stairs and want to stay in a FANTASTIC and BEAUTIFUL home with an INCREDIBLE VIEW, then I most definitely recommend it. Cheers!

Amazing home!

  • 5 of 5

This house is every thing it promises, and it is as amazing as other reviewers have described. The pictures and descriptions are accurate and speak for themselves. I will comment on how accommodating, professional, and helpful the owners and staff were in the process of booking the reservation and during our stay. For instance, after arriving, our group of 14 friends rented 4 golf carts to get around San Pancho (I highly recommend this choice, and San Pancho Rentals was great to work with). Due the power needs of charging 4 carts simultaneously, we kept tripping the breaker box. Not only did the staff keep helping us fix this issue, they came out the next day and installed an entirely new electrical outlet to allow us to charge our carts. We had a slight issue with an A/C unit in a bedroom, and they were there 10 minutes later to fix it. I can't say enough wonderful things about how professional, quick, and helpful everyone was during our stay. Our group plans to book this house again, we have told everyone how wonderful our stay was, and I highly, highly recommend this property to any interested parties. If you book this house, be sure to take time to read the wonderful books the owners compiled about the process and philosophy behind building this house; it increases your appreciation for its beauty. The documents the owners sent after booking were also extremely helpful. My non-property related tip would be to book Diva Tours to pick you up from the PV airport, ask them to stop by Mega (a huge grocery store), stock up on all your supplies and food, head to the house, and begin your vacation! The entire experience was amazing, and I genuinely hope to return to this property for more wonderful reunions with friends!

Other reviews say it better than I can, but we heartily agree.

  • 5 of 5

All of the other reviews, with 5 stars all, are superlative and absolutely correct. We have rented a dozen other homes in San Pancho, and this home is by far the most spectacular, well designed, built, furnished and decorated of them all. There are visual treats everywhere you look and everything is of the very highest quality and standard.

We have rented the Casita and the Main House and have slept in every bedroom over the years. They are all great; all have magnificent views of jungle and/or ocean and are wonder-full. I cannot say enough good things about Villa de Vistas.

Disclaimer: Because we also have undeveloped property in town, we have been coming for ten years, and we knew Bill and Melisa since before they started building and got to watch the construction. They have become friends and mentors to our building process, for our casita under construction.

I won't repeat all the other accolades in other reviews, other than to confirm them. This is simply a spectacular property built and owned by extraordinary people.

We offer our highest possible recommendation.

Wonderful villa.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (my husband, daughter and son-in-law) stayed at the Casita for 8 days and had a wonderful time. The accommodations were perfect for 2 couples, with a lot of privacy, but a shared kitchen and living area. The pallapa was the highlight: a great place to spend the evening hours, playing cards, talking or just listening to the sounds of the jungle. The owners, Bill and Melissa, arrived while we were there, and it was an pleasure to meet them. I highly recommend this place.

WOW... Exceeds all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family and I spent a week at Villa De Vistas where we had use of the entire property. Everything you read in the details is true, only words and pictures can't do it justice.

The vegetation surrounding the massive grounds are lush and it is built on a slope overlooking the beach and ocean below. The large villa at the top has 4 levels with three of them having vistas of the ocean and Sayulita across the bay. The grounds, pools and buildings are routinely maintained by loyal staff with loving care. The grounds keeper was a laborer in the construction and is like family to the owners.

The architecture, features, art, decorations and the sheer size are over the top. All the art is from Mexico and plays together in a very pleasing way. We took hundreds of pictures, including a wonderful coffee table book that Bill and Melissa produced which describes site selection, design, construction and furnishing of Villa De Vistas. This place truly is a work of love and vision.

Our party included 9 adults and a 6 month old grandson who was the center of attention. We had plenty of space to gather as a group for dinners or games, while there are maybe a dozen places to get 4 or 5 people together away from everyone else. Privacy is not an issue here.

We rented a massive van from Diva tours to pick us up at PVR, make a Costco run on the way to pick up the keys and deliver us to the door at the big house. We had a wedding anniversary dinner catered by Abigail and it was delicious. She bought the ingredients, prepared the meal, served us, and did the dishes. That was money well spent.

My wife and I plan to come back with 5 other couples next year. It will be a hoot!

A Great Place For A Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

We rented the whole property for a gathering of our family of 15. We were four families including 8 adults and 7 children. It was a perfect getaway for us. The main house has large gathering areas for meals together and entertainment. Yet each family could escape to their own space as needed. The property is beautiful and well cared for. Each time you look around you notice artwork and details you hadn't seen before. The pool was perfect for our 7 grandchildren. We also loved the quiet pueblo of San Pancho and the beautiful quiet beach. I would highly recommend this for a family gathering.

THE BEAUTIFUL SAN PANCHO BEACH IS A FIVE-MINUTE WALK AWAY.

We have recently created a path through a lush tropical garden down to Calle Palmas. It takes about two minutes to walk down the pathway. It then takes another three minutes to walk to the beach. In addition to being extremely functional, the pathway puts you up close and personal with native plants, exotic birds and beautiful butterflies.
