Sundial Lodge is located in the heart of the Canyons Resort Base/Village Area, next to the main Gondola. Our C-306 unit has a separate King Bedroom, and the Queen sofa sleeper in Living Room/Dining Room works great for kids, and there's a single comfy air mattress inside the coffee table. The main gondola was relocated in 2010 and is now just 75 yards from the entrance to Sundial (See Village Map in our Photos). The new 4-person high speed lift with heated seats is an easy walk (200 yards). This 3rd floor unit has incredible sunny southeast views of the new 300 acre Iron Mountain Peak and Dreamscape areas. Don’t forget your bathing suit. This 605 sq ft unit overlooks the heated pool and hot tub. There is a smaller hot tub and plunge pool on the 3rd level, just walking distance down the hall from our condo. A fitness studio is located on the main level with views of the mountain.

The Canyons Village is just outside the Sundial entrance. The Ski Beach offering food and beverages is right outside. Shopping in the Village for fun or necessities includes Canyon Mountain Sports, One Sweet Ride Snowboard Shop, and Solid Edge Tuning Repair.
A car is not needed. Transportation to and from the airport is available through private companies. There is a free Canyons Resort shuttle that stops at Sundial and will take you to the grocery store and old town. You can also use Park City's free bus system. A free Canyons Shuttle leaves Sundial 5 minutes after each hour, to The Food Market and Park City Main St. Buy your own groceries and make your own meals in the full kitchen, equipped w/ spices!.
We have made several upgrades to this unit in 2010-11 including new hardwood floors, new flat-screen TV’s in the bedroom and living room, new mattress and box spring, a new Duvee and wall coverings and rugs.

Because Sundial is the most convenient ski in/out location in all of Park City, with a very friendly and helpful staff. It's the absolute best mountain lodge hotel. Sundial is an old fashioned ski lodge in the heart of everything, including the lifts. We couldn't think of a better place considering all the improvements going on at the Canyons.
Underground parking, absolute best location in the Canyons village, 75 yards from the re-located Gondola base. 35% off ski and snowboard rentals w/ Breeze and discount lift tickets. 6 restaurants within walking distance. You do not need to rent a car at the SLC airport. The Front Desk is wonderful. Renovated unit w/ natural hickory wood floors and HDTV's. Superior 3rd floor location within Sundial. 7th night is free!
This one bedroom condo at the base of the gondola is the perfect place for any vacation. Close to many restaurants, it has great pools and hot tubs, outdoor gas fireplaces, easy access to biking trails in the summer and ski lifts in the winter. It's clean, roomy, has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, big bathroom with a jetted tub, good sized dining area plus a breakfast bar, and large living space with a cozy gas fireplace. For the price, this unit can't be beat! Public transportation is easy to downtown Park City plus covered parking. We can't wait to come back. Thanks for the great times!! (Our family of five had plenty of room.). It was five star plus.
Our family traveled to Park City mountain to celebrate my husband's birthday. The room met all expectations and was super convenient: location to the slopes, restaurants, shops. It was a bonus that it was stocked with cooking staples and an air mattress. We also enjoyed the fire pits and hot tubs right down the hall. We look forward to a return visit. The Park City bus station was easy to use as well. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
My wife and I made our first visit to Park City in February and absolutely loved it. We travel a lot and put a premium on location and this unit has an excellent location. We booked directly through the owner and it was a very smooth process. We first considered staying on main street and using the Town Lift each day. While that wouldn't have been a bad option, the Sundial at Canyons was the best choice. It is literally right dead in the center of the village. We had a 4 night stay and went into town on 2 of the nights. If we get the chance to return, I would plan the trip the same way and book the same unit (& hopefully stay longer). The unit itself was perfect for us. It was plenty spacious and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable, which is important after a hard day of skiing. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is clear that these owners have great attention to detail. Definitely check out the hot tub that is just down the hall. We enjoyed it one afternoon after skiing. It is literally steps away (no elevator or stairs). Having a w/d in the unit is very convenient, especially if you have a lengthy stay. The concierge staff of Sundial was friendly and accommodating. Utilize the free shuttle service to go to Main Street. It is easy, just remember to call the concierge for a reservation - we were there in a peak time so the 6:00 & 7:00 departures would fill up, but you should be fine if you call a couple hours in advance even during peak times.
This condo was perfect for us. The kitchen is stocked with supplies....olive oil, spices, flour, etc. The unit is spacious and very clean. Pullout sofa sleeper accomodated our teenager. The hot tub is just at the end if the hallway...very convenient. Washer and dryer in the condo. We have rented through VRBO several times and have always had a good experience. We will definitely rent this condo again when coming back to Park City. We love The Canyons resort and especially The Sundial Lodge. Several good restaurants on the resort property and many more in downtown Park City. The main ski lift is about 50 yards from the lobby door very convenient! Lot's of shopping nearby, Whole Foods, Smith's grocery are 10 minutes away. Bob and Jimmy were great to work with!
The condo was perfect for my family. It was super clean, spacious and had everything we needed (the kitchen was fully stocked with supplies). It was very nice having the hot tub at the end of the hallway especially after a long day of skiing. With young children it was very nice to have the gondola so close by along with the restaurants and the little supermarket (which had mostly everything we needed). Jimmy and Bob were excellent to work with and we would definitely love to come back next year to stay at the Sundial. Overall we had a wonderful experience!
This condo was perfect for our family of 4. It was very clean, spacious and so convenient, with a quick walk to the lifts and restaurants. Our two kids ages 8, 10 slept on the pull out couch in the living room and there was still plenty of space for us to walk around. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a plus as well. We must have washed every other day. The kitchen was spacious and very well stocked, with spices, foil, ziploc bags, paper towels, laundry detergent, you name it. The ski valet service was a great addition as we did not have to drag our equipment up to the room each day. The Jacuzzi, which was just steps away at the end of the hall on our floor was just so convenient. We used it every day and never even went down to the pool. The bath was huge, had heated tiles and a jacuzzi tub.
We were a bit nervous renting through VRBO, as we thought we couldn't possibly be as lucky as with our previous positive ski rental experience with the same wonderful lady. We rented with her for 5 years in a row. However, all turned out just as perfect as before. Bob and Jimmy were just as wonderful and easy to work with. They were so responsive and true to their word.
We did rent a car, which was a great decision in hind sight, as it meant quick trips to all the nearby shopping. We were able to stock up for breakfast and dinners in the unit, but we usually had lunch out. We got all our fresh bread from Kneaders in the Newpark shopping center. Their cakes were so yummy.
Before we booked at Sundial, we looked at some of the locations further down the mountain, on the cabriolet lift. Well, now that we have stayed there, I would definitely recommend against that if you are travelling with kids (who fuss over carrying their own ski equipment). Depending on where you live down there, it's still quite a walk down in the morning to the cabriolet and then walking back up coming home in the afternoon. We were oh so happy about our decision to stay at Sundial and will definitely stay there again when we return to Canyons.
