This home is a 4th generation family home. Our children have been born and raised in the area, and all graduated from Gardiner schools. I moved to Gardiner, from Northern Idaho, met and married Joe in 1982 (formally deceased). We raised 3 wonderful boys, Jim, Jeff, and Jake. Jim is in the Navy with a family of his own. Wife Elizabeth, 2 children, Katie and William. Jeff (Navy for 6 years) lives is Olympia, Wa. married to Ryanne With 1 child, Aria. Jake (Marine for 4 years) lives in Gardiner with wife Kayla. We are a very family and friend oriented family. We have supported the town and school of Gardiner with a lot of pride of the area. I was an active leader of the local 4-h club for over 10 years. All our boys have been in 4-h, showing horses, sheep and beef and doing quite well. I worked for Yellowstone Natl. Park for 14 years but now work for Malstrom Airforce base in Great Falls, Mt. as a Motor vehicle and equipment operator. I like to meet new people, and like to make new friends.

Tranquil Private Home on the Yellowstone River
average rating of 4.939394 based on 33 reviews

Great rental that just far enough outside town but just close enough.

  • 5 of 5

The home is right outside of the town and YS entrance but yet it seems like its sitting in the rural MT riverbanks. It was very comfortable and roomy for my group ( 4 adults and 2 tweens). All the little extras ( condiments, extra laundry stuff, tinfoil, etc.) made it so perfect. The riverside bank and fire pit/porch area were amazing. The games and fishing poles were a lifesaver for the kids as well. Owner and family were super nice and very easy to get ahold of if I needed communication with them. It felt like home. Great rental.....I would stay again! Also it was clean and had everything anyone would need!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Here. Best ever!

Best place of any you could stay at!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 6 nights in early September, and I was so excited after booking this trip, couldn't wait to get up there. Nothing about this house or area let us down. This was the most beautiful property, loved the privacy, we really felt as if we were in our own little world! Very clean, had everything we needed and we spent almost every night at the river with a fire and just gazing at stars, and listening to the river... ahhh, heaven. Very comfortable home, and the bed is great! Gardiner is a great town, too! Just felt at home here after even just a day. The Gardiner market has about anything you need, and where as usually we have to stock up on groceries, it was so close, we just stopped in after being in the park and got what we needed each night. Entrance to Yellowstone is so close also. I would recommend this house to anyone! And also we did get to meet the owner's son and wife, and they couldn't have been more pleasant and nice! Thank you for allowing us to rent your home, it made our vacation all the better!

Absolutely Wonderful Experience!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean!! It also had everything we needed (more than enough towels, bedding, seating, etc). It is a great place to relax after a day spent exploring Yellowstone. It is private so you can get away from the tourists and relax by the river while reflecting on your day. Then you can crawl into a clean comfortable bed to help get you ready for the next days adventures. The family was kind and very responsive to anything we needed. I could have sat down with them and talked for hours.

Home AWAY From Florida with the Grandkids

  • 5 of 5

Dear Sandy, We want to thank you for your gracious home for our once-in-a-lifetime, weeklong vacation with 6 of our grandkids. Staying there was a very unique opportunity for all of us being from Florida. The kids were ecstatic with the Yellowstone River literally right in the backyard, watching the herd of Elk right within reaching distance, and out the windows for Bears at night. They took advantage of the enormous yard for playing soccer and running after a long day of travel and sightseeing at Yellowstone. (They'd never seen such 'cool' grass.) They had a wonderful time wading in the water, fishing, lazing in the gazebo and skipping stones. In the cool evenings, they gathered in the breezeway for private talks, in the kitchen nook for cards/games, and we all roasted marshmallows for s'mores in the firepit.

Thank you also for supplying your home with just about EVERYTHING. (BTW, borrowed your big cooler daily for Park picnics too - 'thanks')

We were elated with the living room being able to seat ALL the family in ONE place at ONE time. Every one of us enjoyed your artwork of the local wildlife and Park features, and the Western furnishings throughout your home. Special personal touch definitely! Canvas-mounted photos were EXCEPTIONAL!

We loved watching the Pronghorn Antelope leaping just feet away from our van every morning as we entered Yellowstone. The quick, close access to the Park was certainly appreciated after each long day's adventures of wildlife hunting, Old Faithful, mud pots, prisms, shopping, and waterfalls.

We especially thank you for thinking of and supplying games and quite interesting books. The kids all gathered in the spacious living room at night and actually got back to pure innovative simple fun that we grandparents grew up having.

We ALL thank you again for your graciousness! 8 from SW Florida

Just a couple minutes from Gardiner and Yellowstone. Just bring your food. Everything else is there. Property sits on the Yellowstone River. Helpful and friendly owner was willing to answer all my questions about the area. Elk and deer in the yard every day.

My home is located 3 miles from the entrance into Yellowstone Park and Gardiner Montana. The house with a huge back yard sits on the banks of Yellowstone river. This home is far enough out of town so you hear no noise at night but close enough if you need to run in to enjoy some day and night life. We offer out door seating in a covered gazebo with a rock fire place, and deck over the river bank, to enjoy the scenery, sounds of the river and just the tranquil feeling you will get. In Gardiner there are lots of Gift shops, grocery store, Bars and different kinds of restaurants.

Other Activities: Yellowstone National Park is in your back yard. There is wild river rafting and fishing on the Yellowstone River, Horseback riding along with dinners up in the mountains. Yellowstone National Park offers lots of site seeing, museums, and history of the area.

Golf: There is golfing in Livingstone Montana, 53 miles from the house. Also Bozeman Montana has a golf course which is about 80 miles from the house.

Ski: In the winter time Yellowstone Park has some of the best cross country skiing around. Not only awsome scenry but the animal life you will see. You also have down hill skiing in Bozeman Montana about 80 miles away and both cross country and down hill skiing in Big Sky Montana about 130 miles away.
