The 44 sqm apartment, next to the Acropolis Museum, is just a walking distance from the Acropolis and the heart of Athens. The Acropolis Metro Station, only a few meters away, links it directly to both the Athens Airport and the Piraeus harbour and on to the greek islands. Thus there is no need for a car. It is fully furnished and has just been renovated by the architect owner.
The flat, on the elevated ground floor is fully secured and easily accessible. There is a comfortable double bed in the bedroom. The extra folding bed in the living room, available on request, makes it ideal for a couple and a child or a friend. The air conditioning makes the apartment very comfortable even through the hottest summer days and nights.
There is free internet WI-FI access.
The flat is equipped with a washing/drying machine. An automatic laundry service is also right opposite. Access to the beach is very easy with tram or bus. Coffee shops, news stands, restaurants and bars around the Acropolis and the tavernas of old Plaka are all at a walking distance. The Acropolis Museum also offers great views to the Acropolis from its beautiful and economic roof terrace Restaurant and Cafeteria. There are many events taking place both in the Museum and in the lively and safe neighbourhood.
The National Garden, the Panathinaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games were held in 1896, Zappeion, the House of Parliament and many other archaeological sites are all at a walking distance. It is also a great experience walking down the Ermou Street shops and to the Monastiraki Flea Market.

Our family (3 of us), stayed at this Athens apartment for 3 nights. Nikos was not able to meet us but sent one of his friends to help us with instructions etc. Both of them were extremely nice and very helpful. The wifi worked great and the apartment was walking distance to all attractions. We did not use any transportation other than a taxi to go back and forth to the airport. There are a lot of restaurants within a short walking distance. They also stocked the apartment with some basic needs like coffee maker, coffee, sugar, salt, shampoo, conditioner, soap, washing liquid etc. Having a working washer and dryer was a blessing during our trip. We would stay there again!!
Very nice flat, well equiped and and excellent arrival info from the owner. Would highly recommend this flat.
This apartment is a terrific location for getting to know Athens. We stayed 17 days and walked everywhere in the core of the city. There are great restaurants in the neighbourhood....don't forget to turn right for some off the beaten path, including pizza at Diva Plus when you have had enough Greek cuisine. The apartment is modern, spacious and clean, one of the best we have had with Home Away. We would definitely choose it again if we are lucky enough to return to Athens. Thank-you, Nikos!
My wife and I stayed in Nikos' wonderful flat for an all too short two nights. The space is very clean and efficiently furnished with the obvious pride and keen eye of an architect. An easy few meter walk to active street life, but far enough away to be safe and quiet.... minutes from the Acropolis.
We had a minor unfortunate incident just prior to arriving at the flat. Nikos insisted on bringing us to a pharamany and stayed with us until he was sure that everything was going to be OK.
A super flat in an excellent location. Nikos is a great host!
Excellent location, short walk to Plakka and Acropolis. Accommodations were clean and as advertised. Nikos was excellent to deal with and was flexible with our needs regarding arrival and departure timing. Would recommend this to friends or family.
This first floor apartment is secure, super clean inside, has high speed wifi, a comfy couch and bed, a spacious, clean, modern bathroom and anything else we would need, including a travel adaptor, guides around athens, towels, plates, glasses, and utinsils, he even provided us with coffee, creamer and some biscuits! It is less than a 5 minute walk from the Acropoli metro stop. Nikos and this apartment are wonderful, he was very responsive to email and understood when our card got cancelled and allowed us to pay our remaining deposit in cash upon our arrival, and made our whole stay very low hassle even when we had to leave for the airport at 4am. We wouldn't hesitate a minute if anyone asked us where to stay during their visit!
Koukaki, the neighborhood on the south slope of the Acropolis is an old area with a history of thousands of years. The new Acropolis Museum designed by architect Bernard Tschumi has brought new life the area. The pedestrianized street network around the Acropolis with its small cafes and shops is the meeting point for both Athenians and visitors from all over the world. The Acropolis on the one side and the 'listed' historic neoclassical buildings on the other, make Dionysiou Areopagitou Str one of the finest promenades in the world. The old traditional area of Plaka, only a few blocks away, is a unique place to visit, not only for its traditional architecture, the archaeological sites and the museums, but also for its tavernas and the amazing nightlife. The Acropolis metro station provides quick access to other areas including the Athens International Airport, the Port of Piraeus and the Railway Station. The House of Parliament, the National Garden etc are only a small walk away.
