Red Elk Lodge: A luxurious family getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rested, relaxed, and enjoyed the outdoors in February, 2016 at the Red Elk Lodge. Three families were there and the lodge had even more room than we needed. The place is tastefully decorated and the structure is perfectly situated so that the beauty of the surrounding woods and lake can be enjoyed from all angles. The huge wrap-around deck was an ideal spot for having barbecues or morning coffee while surrounded by scenic surroundings and wildlife. It's also a very drive to the Branson Landing restaurants, stores & local activities. We had one incident for which we needed the owner's help, and he had an agent on site to assist immediately. It is a great property that exceeded our expectations in every way.

The lodge was extremely nice and had plenty of room to accomodate our large group

  • 5 of 5

There was easy access to all the activities we wanted to do but yet the lodge was in a secluded spot. It was very well equipped and clean. I was impressed with the accomodations.

Family Reunion (4+ stars!)

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 19 (11 adults, 3 teens, and 5 kids) stayed here for a week in July. The home itself was very comfortable with plenty of room. Spent lots of time down by the lake (s'mores, fishing, firefly catching, kayaking (that we rented separately).

Things we really enjoyed:

Kitchen well stocked, two ovens (loved the gas oven), bedrooms comfortable, plenty of linens, comfortable furniture with ample seating for meals, beautiful secluded setting, awesome wrap around patio with rocking chairs, open concept with lots of natural light, baby friendly with two high chairs, pack & plays, and baby gate. Easy to contain small children in large areas.

Suggestions that would make this 5 stars:

More than 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom with a large group for a week.

Seating/picnic table down by the water.

Kayak or canoe for taking advantage of all the lake has to offer. Maybe offer at an additional price for the week with the house rental?

A small dock to fish off of.

Would be easier for guests to keep house cleaner with provided cleaning supplies: clorox wipes, dishwasher pods, sponges, more trash bags, and paper towels.

Wifi works, but slow (probably due to many of us in the home). Owner was very helpful in getting our wifi up and running when we encountered problems upon arrival. This was also on the 4th of July, so kudos to the owner for being available and finding help on a holiday.

Thanks for lots of wonderful memories! Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and for the suggestions. We are glad to hear that you all enjoyed your stay. I apologize that there was not more rolls of toilet paper. The cleaning company is supposed to leave more rolls than that. I have contacted them to make sure that doesn't happen again. Thank you, Michael

Giant hidden gem in Branson - perfect for large groups

  • 5 of 5

Tucked inside a very off-the-beaten path area, this home is spacious, extremely well furnished, and perfect for large groups or multiple families.

I hosted an business retreat here and we enjoyed the multiple gathering areas upstairs and down, the view of the lake, the outdoor patio, and of course the giant kitchen with almost every pan, pot, and utensil you'd ever need...and two (much appreciated) coffee makers! The extra-large dining room table allowed us to share meals together without needing to spread around the house. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are fully stocked with plenty of towels. There are several pull-out beds and even a few air mattresses too.

All the floors are wooden and it would be nice to have a few carpets to make sitting on the floor more comfortable. I would be a bit concerned about getting to the property in the winter if the weather is bad considering the gravel roads are steep and curvy. The internet connection was not the fastest but was still reliable, which is surprising given the rural location. Cell phone service is not so great.

The owner was great to work with and the reservation process was quick and painless. We're definitely looking forward to staying at the Red Elk Lodge again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review! I would like to mention that if you follow the directions we give to our guests to get to the lodge, all the roads are paved all the way to the driveway. There are some GPS systems that will take you down a steep gravel road to get to the lodge, but this is not necessary.

Great place to meet up with family

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th- and favorite- Vrbo experience. The Red Elk Lodge on Lake Taneycomo was the perfect spot for our 5 families to get together for a long weekend. This home was, by far, the most comfortable and best maintained of them all, with the most beautiful, well-equipped kitchen, right down to the wine opener, cake pans for our birthday celebration, and a crock pot. We all enjoyed marshmallows at the fire ring and dinner on the deck. We will definitely be back again!

Reunion of Friends

  • 5 of 5

We had great time staying here. We came from all over that states and Canada. It was amazing to find a place big enough for all and great condition. Our week went by too fast with old friends from high school but was so worth the trip. We'd all do it again! Thanks! It was perfect for privacy and yet close to downtown Branson.
