EaglePine- A retreat setting with a unique, fully equipped cedar cabin on 6 acres nestled in the woods of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Offering the ultimate in privacy with 600ft of sandy Long Lk, private peninsula, southern exposure, sunrises & sunsets, boats, fire pits, horseshoes, & bikes. Located well off the main road, tucked between 10 acre parcels assures safety & quietude. The path leading to the water (350 ft) meanders over boardwalks and soft mulch through a wildlife corridor. The lakeshore is ideal for children-- the sand is hard-packed & water shallow. The cottage is not bare-bones stripped of its character for renters. We bring the outdoors in with deer mounts, moose antlers, pelts, & local artwork. The screened porch is perfect to read in a wicker chair, play cards at the table or just listen to the hummingbirds. We include other creature comforts such as comfy beds, modern appliances, satellite, on-demand hot water, and a wood stove for cool summer evenings.

Our stay at Eagle Pine was just what we wanted. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the little walk to the lake and all the toys provided; kayaks, paddle board, canoe, row boat. Eagle pine is well stocked with toys of all kinds for the young and not as young. It is secluded which we love. There is no wifi but we got used to it. Used our hotspot when we needed to and otherwise stayed unplugged. We both read a book from the Elwell's library. Our dog was in heaven. She ran and swam yet figured out the property fast as to how much she could wander. We were impressed. The feeling of family warmth and love permeates Eagle Pine and I hope to be back again.
We are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves and that we were able to provide the resources for your fun! If we can't be there, we want others to enjoy it like it were there own!!! Thank you so much and see you next year!
Secluded retreat in northern Michigan
Beautiful modern cabin set In the woods with a walking path to a small lake. You can’t see your neighbors, which is unheard of Up North. The cabin is on the southern edge of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. That means plenty of outdoor activities are close by. We went hiking and mountain biking in the park and kayaked on the lake. Very comfortable for a family or as a couples retreat. We highly recommend this property and are making plans to go back.
Perfect and Private
We absolutely loved our stay. I almost don't want to give too great of a review in the hopes of keeping this gem a secret from the world! We had 4 humans and one pup in the house with room to spare. Our dog LOVED the beach and we loved the dog wash right outside the front door! We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen and only left for lunch one day in Traverse City. We had hoped for more time around the fire on our chilly weekend but unfortunately we had some rainy evenings. Not to worry, there was an entire library of movies to choose from when we had to move indoors. Susan was an amazing host and only a text away if we had any questions. We will absolutely come back.
Awesome place to stay at
Had a wonderful time away from the city, had a chance to see some of the wildlife and dogs enjoyed the playtime in the lake and exploring new smells.
Owners very responsive in all questions we had during our vacations.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! We especially like having guests like yourselves who appreciate and respect our cabin, as well as, the great outdoors-- including the wildlife you experienced first hand! We look forward to your visit next September!
Great escape in the north woods
EaglePine was a fantastic cabin with lots for the kids and parents to do both on-site and in the area. Our only disappointments were that not all the beds had sheets and no wifi.
Thank you for your kind response. Wifi is a bit of a challenge when deep in the woods. We always suggest to guests to consider using a personal hotspot for necessary connectivity. We will attempt to make that more clear in the future.
We offer optional linen service to guests at an additional charge. We also provide extra beach, bath, kitchen and doggie towels at no charge. Our bed linens are provided only for the beds that have been specifically requested on the contract. If any changes need to be made at the time of entry, we will quickly respond to the request as done during this week.
Thank you for your input!
Great find in a great location!
This cottage had a great location. We were in the woods so it was quiet and very private. Although frozen over, it was just a short walk to the lake. Sleeping Bear Dunes is just accros the main road. And, for last minute shopping, we were only 15 minutes from Frankfort. The cottage itself had a Up North feel that was nice to just hang out in after a chilly hike! It had everything we needed!
EaglePine on Long Lake in Benzie County is located at the southern end of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and is just across the street. We are also 12 minutes north of Frankfort, 30 minutes south of Glen Arbor, 20 minutes from Interlochen Arts Academy, 1 mile from Lake Michigan. The cottage is situated on a wildlife corridor offering optimal wildlife viewing. The area includes endless opportunity to explore the advancing dune environment unique to Sleeping Bear. Visitors may hike or bike within the park or choose to drive right up to the dunes and various lakes. Other points of interest include Crystal River tubing & canoeing, scenic drives, bike trails, charter fishing, golfing, Pte.Betsie Lighthouse, Glen Haven Coast Guard Station, Frankfort Pier, fine dining, local art and antiques. The area offers as much OR as little as you choose to take on! Other Activities: river tubing, gliding
