Keywords: Summer in Annapolis ! We are 5 minutes from historic Annapolis, directly on beautiful black walnut creek , perfect for quiet relaxation, and family reunions, and so much more.
This home is not located in Highland beach, a nearby community.. The above Title is a computer Clitch with google maps..
This very special home is located in Annapolis, 4.5 miles from the center of Historic Annapolis. Thus about a 5 minute drive by car..
I have lived on this property for 26 years. This home along with its beautiful perennial gardens, and creek are magical, and should be shared. I now devote all my time and attention to this lovely home. One of my passions is as a pastry chef, no longer full time, but still bake ,when not preparing for house guests.
I enjoy the whole process of preparing for the arrival of a new family, ensuring that the home exceeds all expectations.
Debbie Buchanan purchased this house in 1991
Actually, I did not Choose Highland Beach, this is a computer/maps clitch- This home is NOT located in Highland Beach, but in Annapolis, 4.5 miles from center of Historic Annapolis. Exhausted trying to have this location error corrected, with no result. In any event:
There are a thousand tributaries to the Cheasapeake Bay, this one little slice of heaven was little known, but has gained some notoriety several years back, when LL Bean chose it as one of its only 2 spots for their popular Discovery kayak learning trips. Local Annapolis Author in his book ' Open Spaces, Sacred Places' features our exact location on page 23. Across the creek is acreage , expressly left as a nature preserve. The only thing you will see , as you wiling away the hours , are very grateful critters, and some boaters.
The expansive windows in every room, face east, so you enjoy the sunrise as well as the beauty of the moon on the creek , from the master suite as well as other perfect spots. One of the greatest attributes of this property is its beauty and peaceful, quiet surroundings.
Additionally, the homeowner is available to help with set up table decor for dinner parties -rehearsal dinners, flower arrangement for tables, rentals essentially anything you need to assist in making your party, brunch or small event a success-
The house was ideal and impressed so many people. I think I must have given more than a dozen tours of all the rooms and suites in the house and everyone was in awe. Thanks again for the great house.
We are 10 active cousins all over 65, some well over, from the East Coast -FL to NY. Since the late 80's we have been renting a house for a week every other year in different places through out this country.... All week everyone kept saying they "loved this home". Debbie was an absolute joy to work with... I asked in passing if there were any poker chips among the games and puzzles... next day Poker Chips as well as THE BEST hot-out-of-the-oven muffins arrived... which were devoured instantly... and the poker chips used every night.
Five Stars in every way. Debbie has created an enviorment of luxurious comfort and livability...from the exquisite decorating to the amazingly comfortable beds, (robes and slippers included) she has not left out any Five Star Hotel amemities.
As a professional Baker the kitchen is equipped with restaurant quality everything. There is plenty of room for everyone to make their own breakfast, our group made use of all THREE coffee makers...
ON THE Water views and a "Better Homes and Garden" Garden skilfully cared for is all part of the package... beautiful.
Location is perfect, we took advantage of the easy metro access to DC, drivable Baltimore and the treasures of Annnapolis minutes away, returning to our comfortable hidaway...
We highly recommend this property, Debbie and Gepetto who are always improving on the experience and are only a phone call away...
It doesn't get any better than this..
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. It served as the meeting point for a very large family reunion. There was plenty of room for our family to stay (including 6 children under the age of 6-with lots of separate quiet rooms for differing nap times). We loved the gorgeous backyard with the access to water and the kayaks and paddleboards. Everyone in the family really enjoyed the morning and evening kayak trips. We will definitely return to this wonderful home in the future!
We used the house to host a small family reunion. Debbie (the owner) was very easy to work with. The house was perfect. There are plenty of rooms and enough space that even with 8 adults and 4 children, we never once felt like we were on top of each other.
The house was well equipped with everything you would possibly need. The large gourmet kitchen made dining in a breeze.
The property itself was amazing, and offered plenty of activities to keep all of us entertained.
Proximity to Annapolis can't be beat, and we made it to DC in 30 minutes or so.
Highly, highly recommended.
A perfect vacation in a wonderful house, spectacularly located, and beautifully furnished and equipped. Debbie has done a marvelous job of combining comfort and décor. The house is gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful, and the views of Blackwalnut Creek are stunning. Our frequent kayak and paddle board expeditions in the creek and out to the bay were a high point, as were our strolls and bike rides around the neighborhood, including a visit to nearby historic Highland Beach. We are positive that you will love The Yellow House!
The first impression of the house started with my conversations with Debbie. She is amazing! She is so easy-going, warm, friendly, helpful, always available and responsive and accommodating. We picked this house for our annual family reunion. There were 15 of us, adults and kids. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated and it is obvious that Debbie has thought of everything and anticipated your every need. The house was fully equipped and stocked; inside and out. The kayaks, paddle boards and fishing/crabbing gear were all in the shed. Every single room was warm and comfortable. The location is extremely convenient to downtown shops and restaurants (although we ended up cooking most meals at the house), and close to supermarkets. We had such a wonderful time at the house and highly recommend it to friends and family!
After our first stay in 2013, our family of 11, now with grandkids ranging in age from 19-14, were anxious to return to Annapolis and the Yellow House for another memorable family vacation which were able to do this month. The house which is beautiful, spacious, and accommodating, in addition to Debbie's warm, welcoming hospitality, again, contributed to wonderful family vacation memories. With the house being located on Black Walnut Creek, and Debbie providing kayaks and paddleboards, it allowed for fun times on the water. This along with access to Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. only adds to our vacation memories.
We look forward to returning in the near future for another fun, memorable family gathering!!
