Excellent Get-away Vacation Site

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Roland for a great get-away. We spent a long weekend in Bar Harbor and Acadia with our son, his wife and her parents. The accomodations were excellent, the location was very accessible and covenient. Well equipped home, sleeping arrangements were great and very pleasant atmosphere. The owner was attentive and responsive without being intrusive. We particularly enjoyed the dining area, the lving room area and the sun room. Plenty of space and very comfortable. I think we all want to come back.

Skip the hotels

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is nicely decorated and appointed (though there were no curtains or blinds) and extremely spacious. It was great to be able to come back after a long day of exploring and spread out and relax and cook a nice family style dinner instead of eating out every day. The location is also excellent, with an easy walk to the Island Explorer shuttle and an ice cream shop. The drive to Acadia and downtown is extremely quick even with the summertime traffic. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: We are so glad the guests enjoyed this charming house so much. There are no curtains as a standard so as not to clutter or obscure the historic details of the house and block light and view. There's no privacy issue as the house is well buffered with lush trees and growth. We can certainly arrange for curtains in any room if they are requested because quaint rod holders are already installed.

Wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

The home was large and comfortable and we enjoyed drinks each evening in the chairs on the back lawn. Air conditioning was not missed because the temps were so pleasant- we slept with windows open! Hope to return next summer for longer visit. Good location too.

Awesome house for large or small groups! Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Roland's house by Sand Point is definitely one of the best-value properties to rent on the island, especially because of its awesome location! The house can sleep 7 on beds comfortably, has some large couches to sleep more, and has tons of space if you need to use blow up mattresses! The property has all the amenities one would need. There was only one bathroom while we were there, but we were able to work through that AND Roland is adding a second bathroom soon. The kitchen is large and has everything you would need to cook throughout your stay (except ingredients, of course). Bar harbor is just a 10-15 minute drive, and the entrance to Acadia is even closer. Short walk to a cool rock beach! Zero complaints, me and my friends (10 of us total) had an amazing time! Will definitely be renting here again when visiting Acadia in the future.

Quaint old world charm in Acadia

  • 4 of 5

We were a family of two with young children and loved our 4th of July weekend stay at Roland's house. The house was cozy and perfect for the size of our group. Location wise it was close to the downtown and the national park by a couple of minutes of drive and very convenient. The house itself was old world charm and quaint. It was thoughtfully planned for kids with books, board games, pack and play and even a high chair. We had a bit of an issue with the workings of the dish washer but Roland was kind enough to come by and help us with that. We even tried the grill one night and the kids loved the swings in the backyard. We had a great time in Acadia, would love to be back sometime. thanks !

Wonderful property, very close to town and Acadia!

  • 5 of 5

We (6 adults) had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house! The location is wonderfully secluded yet close to town that you can visit to shop and do all the tourist things you desire. A park entrance to Acadia is extremely close and we loved that. The kitchen was very well stocked and we cooked every dinner at the house. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean.
