This beautifully updated two bedroom/two bath condo at The Villas at Walton Creek has been lovingly cared for since we purchased it new in 1998. Comfortably accommodating 4 - 6, we recently finished some extensive upgrades, including replacing the tired old carpet with new hardwood flooring and new slate tile in the main areas, adding new carpet in bedrooms, new quartz counters, stainless appliances and canister lighting in the kitchen, and remodeling both bathrooms. We've made sure the condo has everything you need for a winter or summer holiday! The complex includes an outdoor hot tub for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes or on the trail.
Conveniently located close to the Gondola base, The Villas is only a short walk along a scenic creek-side paved path that takes you to the gondola, ski slopes or summer hiking in just a 10 minute walk. A ride on the free bus (available every 15-20 minutes) gives quick access to the slopes, nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Shops and other activities in downtown Steamboat Springs are just two miles away on the same bus route. Regularly scheduled HDN and DIA airport shuttles pick up and drop off guests right at our door so you don't need to even have a rental car. The unit is a spacious 1,087 square feet on the 2nd floor with a private heated garage/entrance below.
There is a fully-equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, charming log queen bed in master bed-room, bunk bed in the second bedroom (full-size bed on bottom, twin on top) down comforters for all beds, and queen pull-out sofa in the living room. Sunny decks are located off both the living room and master bedroom with views of the ski area and the Flat Tops. You'll have many moments of tranquility just looking at the magnificent views. A gas fireplace in the living room will be welcome after a day on the mountain.
Other conveniences include a barbecue, tables and chairs on the decks, two color TVs with HD cable, 40' LCD HD Flat screen in living room, Blu-ray DVD players, Bose iPod sound dock, board games, Free high speed wireless internet, and hot tub on site. This is a quiet complex with only 6 units per building. Private heated single car garage with mudroom and staircase entrance. There are many resident owners, making this a great location for families. Includes stackable washer and dryer. Additional towels and linens, as well as housekeeping are provided. There may be a cleaning fee for four nights or less. 4 night minimum stay during the winter season please.
Located on FREE Walton Creek bus route to gondola and downtown.
This is a Smoke and Pet free condominium.
We lived in Steamboat and met here many years ago. Steamboat has been a part of our lives for over 30 years. This is our only rental property, and it is also our home-away-from-home.
Gregg Royer purchased this condo in 1998
Steamboat is a special place for us, and for our kids as well. This property is just the right size and location to enjoy the area and everything it has to offer. We love it in all seasons...there's always something in Steamboat that will take your breath away.
Wonderful people! Plus the best skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, and camping. Don't miss the Strawberry Park hot springs in winter or summer.
A beautiful home with lots of little extras that really made it seem like a home away from home. A very short walk to the free shuttle to the ski hill. Plenty of room!!! Full kitchen facilities!!
We had a wonderful time at this Steamboat Springs condo. It is a second story unit with decks off the great room and the master bedroom. The ski mountain is visible from the main deck. The unit includes a locking garage with inside stairs to the condo. It's easy to get to and around Steamboat from the condo. The free shuttle bus is about five minutes from the ski area. The interior of the condo is super with updated floors, bathrooms and kitchen. Everything seemed to be provided except food. The kitchen is very well furnished. Flat screen tv's in the great room and master bedroom. The tv reception is excellent and also includes a DVD player. The second bedroom has a bunk bed for three and the sleeper sofa in the great room adds more sleeping room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return again.
Having stayed the previous part of our trip in a condo that was "underwhelming" what a pleasant surprise it was to check into Gregg and Lindy's place. The entire condo had a new feel to it, and it was tastefully decorated. The brand new kitchen has nice countertops, maple cabinetry and stainless appliances. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of pots/pans/dishes and utensils and there were even some condiments in the fridge. The living room was very comfortable, we watched the Olympics in HD on the big screen TV. There is a ceiling fan to keep you cool on summer days. The beds in both rooms were very comfortable, and all the linens and towels had the look and feeling you would get at a higher end property. The masterpiece has to be the master bath, which has unique flooring and a fantastic shower. I really felt like I was staying at a hotel in the master suite. There was ample storage and dresser space in both rooms, good lighting, and night tables on both sides of the bed, with lamps. Everything was clean and orderly and had a newer appearance to it.
There is a sliding glass door in both the living room, and the master bedroom, to let in Fresh air. Both lead out to a nice outdoor deck. There is a brand new stainless BBQ that we used to make dinner. There is a view of the mountain from the deck. One caveat- I tried sleeping with the glass door open, but there is some noise from the road (both in evening and morning). You don't hear the noise with the door closed.
It was also helpful to have the local literature handy, in terms of things to do, take out food etc. A big plus was that the unit was very quiet. It is on the second floor, so you will not hear anyone above you, and honestly most of the time it was very quiet. I slept extremely well, with no disruptions from noisy neighbors or thin walls. Another plus was the garage, not only to keep our car, but also Gregg left a couple bikes there, and I was happy to ride the bike along the Yampa River trail.
In terms of location, the unit is right on the bus route, and then a short drive to the Safeway and other stores. It is under 3 miles to the town. I was able to walk from the unit to some of the local walking trails, and also you can bike to the Yampa River trail without ever going on a busy road. The other people at the condo complex we met were certainly friendly, and we loved Steamboat Springs as a place to visit! Would definitely stay again.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was exceptionally well supplied and appliances new and clean. We were there to relax and enjoy the scenery so the condo worked out great for us. The location was good for getting into town for shopping and so many great restaurants. We even went tubing and thought it was a blast even though the river was low and not flowing real fast. Beautiful country and friendly people surrounded us. The week we were there was unusually warm according to the natives, so without air conditioning and only a ceiling fan in the living room, we were uncomfortably warm sleeping, even with windows open. But overall, had a super experience. Thanks to the Goyers for sharing their lovely condo.
Really happy with the unit, overall. It's an older building, but still nice enough. Mostly quiet neighborhood with view of the ski mountain from the main deck, and a short 5 minute drive to downtown. Furniture was a little dated/eclectic (think "80's southwest"), but it didn't bother us. Nicely done kitchen and master bathroom with granite (REALLY nice shower). Garage was a bit small, but convenient (our RAV4 fit in there fine, but a bigger SUV would be tight). Biggest complaint would be the bed in the master bedroom--it was pretty uncomfortable, to the point where I was waking up several times a night (hence 4 starts instead of 5; interesting that the 2nd bedroom's bed was quite comfortable). But overall, good place, and I would likely stay there again, especially if a better mattress was put on that master bed.
Snowshoeing, biking, hiking from site, as well as local hot springs, hot air balloon rides, sleigh rides and snowmobiling.
