About Nate Schwartz & Laurel O'Donnell
We decided to move out to the lake house from Ithaca back in late 2016. It was the dead of winter, late December, and we looked at each other one day and said: "We should get outta town, go live where it's quieter." So we left the apartments that we were still paying for, and on a mission to save both dollars and sanity, we both decided to move in together; out into "the sticks" and breathe life back into this beautiful house. Built in the late-1970's by David Schwartz, Nate's father, after he too had escaped the city life; it was the family home for a number of years. The last full-time residents lived here in 1985, and it has been rented out as a summer home for the last decade. David kept a tight hold on the property through the years hoping that one day, Nate would find its beauty and move onto the land. Luckily for him, that day happened and here we are! Now we are running the rental business, keeping up the property and making big plans for future expansions and additions. We hope you enjoy the changes we have made if you are a returning guest and if not, we look forward to turning you into one!

Why Nate Schwartz & Laurel O'Donnell chose Lodi
This home is almost entirely built from local trees and natural materials: red pine, hemlock, fir, and oak cut and milled just a few miles away. Its rustic feel and quaint woodsy charm has captivated guests for years and just calls to mind simpler times. 15 acres are yours to explore and you will never see it all! Its secluded location right off of the beautiful Wine Trail has you just miles away from the best food, wine and sights the state of New York has to offer.
What makes this House unique
We like to call this place sanctuary. It is a place to visit when you want to leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time moves slower here, and even the trees feel different when they dance in the wind that comes off the lake. This is a place to find peace, to feel safe and to nurture love, and we welcome you to share it with us.

We had a lovely father's day family weekend (2 adults in 2 young kids, 1 dog) playing in the lake/creek, fishing, and taking in the ambiance of the surroundings. The cabin was clean and well-kept. The kitchen is stocked with excellent cooking utensils. The beds were very comfortable. Met or exceeded all expectations!
We had a great time and will come here again.
Great weekend Getaway!
We had a wonderful time. The owners were very accommodating. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We took advantage of the 'chef services' and they cooked an amazing breakfast.
Wonderful retreat on Seneca Lake
A beautiful secluded house but still close to the wineries on East shore of Seneca Lake. Great place for our dogs to run around in the woods outside the house. Short walk to the dock on Seneca Lake.Nice place to sit and relax
Cozy/Rustic family get-away, needs some refurbishing.
Location is excellent: a short walk on dirt path amongst beautiful tall trees, down slightly steep set of stairs to the Seneca Lake. However, drive from main road to house is severely rutted and quite steep in places. Inside house: roomy master bedroom with attached bath is comfortable and peaceful, surrounded by the sound of crickets in the wood. Other rooms are small but fine for sleeping. Main room was suitable for eating, game-playing, cooking and listening to music. Outside: hammock was a delight on a balmy afternoon and swimming off shore and dock of the Lake was a quite rocky, but fine once past the rocks.
However, one couch was delapidated; ceiling fan/lighting needed string attached to manage; and kitchen lacked basic provisions and adequate dish ware.
Owner was polite, quickly answered all inquiries.
Although we had a nice time here, we feel it was overpriced for what it offered. With some repairs and upgrades (especially to the dock and some fixtures in house) this hideaway would be even better.
Great cabin getaway in the woods!
Very rustic cabin close to the lake. We had a wonderful time exploring the area. Nate and Laurel were very welcoming and the cabin had everything we needed. Lots of charm!
