Overview

Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Enjoy our newly remodeled home - a clean, modern aesthetic with finished basement and bright, sunny rooms. The large dinning area downstairs is perfect for family gatherings and games. And when you're ready to settle in, enjoy a movie on the flat-screen TV. Well kept, newly landscaped yard makes you feel at home in the friendly downtown neighborhood.

Bikes, beach gear, and some tennis and golf gear are available at the house for renters to use. Look for the info binder for brochures on local art galleries, restaurants and activities. There's enough in walking/biking distance to keep you happy throughout your stay, but if you're looking for daytrips, consider the local wineries, state parks, Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and much more.

Wi-Fi is available at the local coffee house and library.

Cheers!

About The Owner

I was very lucky to grow up in Elk Rapids, one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I know. The spirit of my upbringing stayed with me through college in Arizona, a short professional career and finally as wife and mom in California. I look forward to my bi-annual trips 'home' to visit family and friends, and to let my kids run free on the beach or tumble in the snow. I like to say, 'You can take the girl out of Elk Rapids, but you can't take Elk Rapids out of the girl.' My husband and I own 'The Town House' with my brother and his wife. I keep track of the renters, and my sister-in-law takes care of the money. Our late father was the previous owner of the house and was well known in the community. We've had a great time collaborating on the renovation and transformation of his very 'utilitarian' style house to a home with beautiful form and perfect functionality.

nice house in great location

Great location close to town and the park. Communication with Nicky to set up the rental agreement and organize arrival/departure was excellent. The house is clean and functional. We look forward to renting again!

Just what we had hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

We had jan absolutely wonderful week here at the Town House- the home is so lovingly cared for and was very well furnished with everything we needed. The location couldn't be better- just a block from the beach, dining and shopping. Our children are quite spread out (13, 9, 7 and 3) and I felt that all of them enjoyed the house and had a comfortable place to stay. Having the downstairs space is really great- there's lots of room to unwind, and a place to play even if little ones are upstairs resting. The owners are just lovely and really easy to work with. I felt they really went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. We hope to return in the future- what a gem!

ANOTHER great year at the "Town House"

  • 5 of 5

In 2011 we spent 2 weeks at the Town House. It was our best vacation ever! This is SUCH a lovely home and a perfect location. There are so many fun things to do in the area. It didn't hurt that we caught a 6 pound, 20" small mouth bass in the bay, along with many other "keepers"! (oh, and I hit a Royal Flush on a 25 cent video poker machine at Turtle Creek $$$). The town of Elk Rapids is so welcoming. Our kids are spread across the country and 2 of them were able to come home to be with us for part of the vacation. This is a wonderful property and we highly recommend it.

Beautiful vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED this house. It is so nicely decorated, clean, bright and well equipped. Such a convenient location in town too. The owners are great and easy to work with. We had a fun week in Elk Rapids. There is so much to do in the area. We boated from Elk Lake down the river to the sand bar in Torch Lake, played miniature golf in Traverse, visited the shops and galleries in the old State Hospital, walks and bike rides, casino, and lots of fishing in the bay. Dinner at Apache Trout Grill is a must for every northern vacation too.

Everything we could have asked for and more!!!

  • 5 of 5

This rental home was beautifully remodeled and comfortable for our family. We had two small children and the location was perfect for bike rides or walking to the beach/park and to downtown for our daily treat of ice cream, baked goods and visit to Java Jones for coffee. The decor is open and airy and has a nice and cool finished lower level (which we didn't use much b/c we had gorgeous weather and were outside as much as possible) We think it would be a great spot to bring grandparents along next time and they could have their own space with full bath below. The owners were friendly and easy to work with and provided all the information and answered all our questions. We just love Elk Rapids, and have stayed on Elk Lake the past two years, but after our experience downtown, we will definitely be staying at this property in the future and highly recommend it to others looking for the same amenities and location! Great, charming "Town House". Thank you!!
