This bright and airy loft apartment, custom built for the owner, sits atop the rear of a two bedroom rental home. It is the 5th home off the beach (a mere 250 feet), and on a one-block long street which ends at the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. You enter this unit upstairs from your own large private deck, which has a water view and is complete with table and chairs, umbrella, loungers, and a gas grill. It is an ideal spot for tanning, outdoor dining and get-togethers, and simply enjoying the sunset and gulf breezes.
The unit is approximately 500 square feet. It sits atop the rear of the two-bedroom house, which sleeps five.
The unit is very warm and welcoming, decorated in the subtle tones of sands and surf. The open floor plan features a queen sized bed, dining table for four, a sitting area, walk-in closet and a fully functional kitchen. It is outfitted with plenty of dishes, utensils, linens, accessories and small appliances. As it was designed for two persons, there is no dishwasher.
Wireless internet service (WiFi), use of the washer/dryer, TV with cable and DVD player, stereo with CD player and iPod dock, beach chairs, alarm clock, linens and towels, are all included. Just bring your vacation clothes, relax and enjoy. Off-street parking is available for one vehicle in front of the house.
There are so many things to do on Clearwater Beach, you name it, we've got it. Frequent volleyball and other tournaments and contests are held here, and many restaurants and bars feature live music by day and night. Our restaurants have an exceptional assortment of fresh seafood, as the docks are located nearby. There are several golf courses nearby. For the family, the Clearwater Aquarium, miniature golf courses, street festivals, activities on the Pier, and more are held on a regular basis. Splash Island Water Park is just down the coast on St. Petersburg's beach. Major attractions in Tampa are the Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, just to name a few. Within two hours you can get to everything in Orlando: Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Theme Parks and more. My husband and I (and our dog) stayed in this studio for a week and really enjoyed it. We looked at many vacation rentals and hotels in the area, and this was under the cost for the location--hotels tended to be around $180 a night, and didn't have full kitchens. Other vacation rentals were a bit more expensive, but some of them could sleep more people, but for just two people (or perhaps a couple and a child) this was more than enough for our needs. It was also great to be able to have dog, especially given that the beach is dog friendly beginning 1 block north of the unit.
Unit: The vaulted ceilings in the studio make it seem much larger than the square footage. The photos are representative. The bed and couch were comfortable. The outdoor deck and table (with umbrella) was nice for eating on the deck. There is a small view of the ocean from the deck, but it is not an "ocean view" deck. We enjoyed being able to see the bustle of people on the street from the deck without being a part of it.
Amenities: We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes and utensils for all of our cooking needs. The Wifi was really easy to access, which is unusual for vacation rentals. There it was quick and easy to connect. We brought an Apple TV and had no trouble streaming Netflix movies in the room. There are chairs and floats for use at the beach if you need them, and there are plenty of towels for shower and beach use.
Location: It is a *very* short walk to the beach, and the north end of the beach is far less crowded or touristy than the south end. We really appreciated the quiet and more "low-key" feel of being on the North Beach side of Clearwater Beach. However, it is also really short walk (about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk or whether you walk on the beach or road) to get down to Pier 60 where all of the charter boats and excitement are happening. It is also really close to the Palm Pavillion, which is a great place to listen to live music and watch the sunset. Despite the walk from the more populated areas, we found it safe to walk back after dark and a safe place to walk our dog in the evening.
Management/Owner: It was a delight working with Joe! He was responsive and very helpful. Anytime we had a question we heard from him virtually immediately, and he returned our security deposit within 24 hours of checking out -- on a Sunday, no less. I would love to have all VRBO owners to be this pleasant and professional!
We stayed in this studio apartment for a week and had a great time. The location of the unit was excellent, in a more residential area of Clearwater Beach (so the beaches weren't packed with people) but still very walkable to all the attractions in town- restaurant, boating activities, Pier 60, etc (we walked everywhere even though we had a car). The apartment fit our needs: a well equipped kitchen, large bathroom, small table, sofa, bed and decent sized closet with a dresser so we could put our things away and store our suitcases out of sight. The owner, Joe, had everything you'd need and more (ample towels, beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, beach cart, umbrella plus all the kitchen equipment you need) which was great for us who flew into the area. We've never used VRBO before but had an excellent experience with the owner. He was great at communicating with us, answered all questions super quickly and was very helpful throughout the entire process (he sent step-by-step directions with pictures). We'd highly recommend this rental not only for the wonderful location but also for the great owner.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the place. It was well kept and the studio had everything you would need as stated in other reviews. The biggest plus being how friendly and accomadating the owner is, never had a better experience when renting for a vacation. You a literally 4 houses from the beach and a short walk to town. We plan on coming back and will stay nowhere but here.
A few days before my son wedding in St. Petersburg we decided visit Clearwater beach. The studio was nice, neat and cozy. The beach was beautiful as well the neighbor, good memories and we planning come back next year!
My wife and I stayed here for three weeks in Feb & March and this cozy studio was perfect. Nothing is needed, everything was right there. Beach chairs, umbrella, the owner thought of everything and was told if we needed anything to just call. The weather was also perfect. Its close to all you need to do and within walking distance to everything. Just loved it, hope to come back soon.
My husband and I had a great time in Florida! Owner has truly thought of everything you would need in this studio. All you really need is your clothes! Off street parking is a plus and the beach is literally steps away!
