Divide Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Elk Spring Cabin is a secluded mountain getaway! You can feel completely isolated with no other homes in view. It sits on a hill overlooking the spring fed pond below with awesome Pike's Peak views as a backdrop. It is surrounded by pine and aspen trees on 35 fenced and gated acres. Although it feels remote, it is only 1 1/2 miles from US Hwy 24 on a well maintained County Road and only 30 minutes to Colorado Springs or Cripple Creek and very convenient to all local attractions. You can hike the acreage or relax and enjoy the beautiful back deck and patio area. The views of Pikes Peak from the living room, both bedrooms and the back deck are spectacular and you may experience an occasional deer or elk that wander through the property. This cabin shares the same property with Mountain Sun Cabin yet they are not visible from each other. Both cabins can be rented together for larger groups.

After an exciting day of sightseeing, hiking, biking, rafting or shopping, relax in the Hot Tub, located off both bedrooms, perfect for stargazing. You can also sit in the warm Colorado sun on the Deck or Patio area. When it snows, you can bring cross country skis or use the provided selection of snowshoes and sleds to explore the property or many nearby trails. When you return, cozy up in front of the Stone Fireplace and watch it snow. You are sure to enjoy all of the conveniences of home including high speed Internet, large Flatscreen TV with BluRay DVD player and surround sound. This can all be enjoyed with the beauty, peace and serenity of the Rocky Mountains in this special home. The cabin is cozy and romantic for two, but large enough for the whole family.

About Bradley and Laura Eicher

Hello, I'm Brad, and this is Laura, my wife of 35 years. Otis is our 8 year old chocolate lab pictured with us. I'm a Colorado native and have lived in this area my entire life. We enjoy all outdoor activities including biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and even backpacking at 58 years old! We would love to meet you and your family and to share our knowledge of the area, making your vacation a wonderful experience.

Bradley and Laura Eicher purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Bradley and Laura Eicher chose South Central Colorado

We have lived in the area for many years and were fortunate to have found this piece of property. We have built both 'cabins' for friends and family to enjoy and have now extended this invitation to the general public to enjoy as we have.

What makes this cabin unique

This property offers so much, from hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing to winter fun including sledding and snowshoeing. We do provide a selection of snowshoes and sleds for our guests to use. It also provides an opportunity to relax, sit on the deck and enjoy absolute solitude while drinking coffee, enjoying the visiting birds and hummingbirds, and basking in the warm sunshine with majestic Pike's Peak as a backdrop.

Beautiful, private place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for a week and it felt like we were at home. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed including dishes, linens, and washer/dryer plus supplies. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub and exploring the property and we were even greeted by 2 elk one morning right outside of the door. We would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone or stay there again. We absolutely loved it. Thanks again Laura and Brad for sharing your place with us!

Beautiful Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is wonderful, it is very clean, the owners have thought of all the little things you need and then some to make it a perfect getaway. There are so many extras, it is too many to list, such as toys for small children, tons of board games, DVD's to watch, all the dishes and utensils you need, a book with all sorts of brochures of area attractions and restaurants, etc. etc. When we could not get the tv to work when we first arrived or the internet, the owners were very quick to respond and try to get things working. The cabin feels like you are out and away from everything, but it is a very short drive to Divide or Woodland Pass to have shopping, restaurants, etc. It is a short drive to many area attractions. We would go out exploring during the day and come home in the evening to relax in the hot tub and then watch one of the DVD's. We had refreshing mornings watching the birds at the bird feeders either from the big living room window or out on the patio. This was a girlfriends get-away and several of our friends could not make it, we want to try to go to this area again and would definitely try to stay at this cabin or another one of the owners' again.

Exceptional secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what you hope for (but never expect to actually get) - it was secluded in a beautiful little forest area with wildlife nearby. The cabin itself was nicely decorated and *very* clean. The view was wonderful, and the hot tub, grill, and deck made the outdoors even more fun to enjoy. It was very peaceful and a great romantic getaway! The owners were quick to respond and easy to work with. The little towns nearby have some fun restaurants (McGinty's Pub, Swiss Chalet), and nearby Mueller State Park has some great hikes (recommend trail #10). We've already recommended this cabin to a friend and can't wait to come back again!

The Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for something secluded with a great view. Elk Spring Cabin delivered that and MUCH more. It's the type of place you hope you find (but usually don't!) when planning a trip to the mountains. Not only is the view amazing and breathtaking, the cabin itself is adorable, well furnished and perfect for a long or short stay. We only had 2 adults in the house but there was definitely room for a few others to join. We enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from the living room and spent a lot of time hiking the acreage that is available. It's location is great and we had easy access to hiking trails, tourist attractions and great little places to eat! We'll definitely be coming back here again!

Birthday/vacation trip to Colorado that turned into quite an adventure -

  • 5 of 5

The cabin had amazing views of the mountains and everything that you could possible need inside. Despite the spring snow storm that dumped over 4 foot of snow, we were forced to slow down and just relax. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace and even built a snowman. We read, played cards and games. When we were finally able to "break" out we went shopping in Castle Rock at the outlet mall, drove through the Garden of the Gods, shopped in Manitou Springs, Woodland Park and Colorado Springs to some of our favorite antique stores. This cabin was an excellent alternative for us, since we always came in our Motorhome. What you see in the pictures of this cabin is exactly what you get and so much more, you will not be disappointed. We know where we can stay if we ever find our way back up to Colorado in the future. Thank You Laura and Brad for opening up your cabin to us. We loved it!
