This very family friendly condominium is located in the high restricted Padre Isles Community. This large unit is located entirely on the second floor of a two story complex with only 4 units. This property is located on a large canal 'lake' with the closest neighbor behind the unit approximately 100 yards away. The intercoastal waterway is a short boat ride away as are the little known Padre Isle 'ski canals' which offer an excellent water sports area.
The unit consists of a large master suite with separate bathroom that includes his and hers vanities and a separate shower and jetted bathtub. The master bedroom also has a 25 inch LCD HD TV. There are two other bedrooms with queen beds. There is a very large bedroom which is over the bottom unit's garage which is outfitted with a bunkbed, two single beds and a large corner sofa. There are also foam mattresses that can be used for 'overflow' sleeping. This room has it's own TV/DVD to allow the kids there own area to enjoy.
The living room has a great south view of the canal lake where dolphins and pelicans are seen regularly. The living room has a large VERY comfortable corner sofa and a 25 inch LCD TV and DVD player.
The dining room has a large table with 6 chairs.
The kitchen is well equipped with two full sets of dishes as well as most utensils, cooking and serving dishes needed. This is NOT the usual stripped down kitchen you will find in most rentals!!
There is a fishing pier with an underwater green light for night fishing and a very nice elevated deck with furniture that over looks the canal lake. The kids can swim off the deck as the water is usually at least 6 feet deep at the end of the dock. Please be careful and ALWAYS watch the kids while swimming. Please no jumping off the decks.
There is a very nice boat launch about 50 yards away and you are welcome to dock your boat in the slips.
My name is Van Swift, My family lives in Austin and have owned a vacation home in the Corpus Christi area for many years. We looked around for a long time before deciding to purchase this unit. We really like the location of this home due to it's proximity to great fishing, great beaches and many great restaurants.

This condominium is really like a large two story duplex. Your parking location is just steps to the front door, not like the larger hotel like condominiums in the area. This unit is very easy to find and is a short boat ride to the Laguna Madre or a short car ride to Whitecap Beach which is very family friendly and patrolled by the Nueces County Sheriff and Corpus Christi PD. You can park your vehicle close to the water which is not possible on most of the beaches in Port Aransas. Most of the popular restaurant and stores are located on South Padre Island Drive which is just down the road. Corpus Christi is a very easy drive from Austin or San Antonio and you won't have to wait in a long ferry line when arriving or departing like you do in Port Aransas.
This unit is over 1,672 sq. ft. all on the second floor on the complex with no neighbors above you! This unit is ideal for two or three families to enjoy as the kids can share a large bedroom with their own TV/DVD so the adults can enjoy the deck or living room in the evening in peace. This unit faces south so the deck, balcony and fishing pier all have nice shade in the afternoon. This unit was built in 1999 and was a builder owned unit so it has a lot of nice upgrades such as extensive crown molding and intercom system.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Van's condo. It was spacious and well-furnished to meet all our needs for a week. We had 8 adults and 1 child, and we were very comfortable. Parking in the drive was a challenge, so we simply parked on the street where we had plenty of room.
We have been lucky enough to rent this home a couple times over the last two years. This truly is one of the best places to get away with a family or because of its size you could share and have two families stay here.
The location is fantastic, right on the water, with a deck and tranquil, calming views and sounds. It is close enough to everything that you can easily visit restaurants or stores if you need to, including the Super HEB right across the bridge. So it has all the conveniences right around the corner, yet when you are at the house you feel like you are away from all the hussle and bussle.
The access to all Padres Island beaches as well as Mustang Island beaches and Port Aransas are optimal. We were able to visit several different beaches during our stay with ease and enjoyed each of them. You truly feel like you are on an island vacation and in the middle of nature as soon as you drive up one of the access roads to the beach.
The home is beautifully furnished and maintained and has every modern convenience you could want, making cooking, barbecuing or just hanging out for sundowners easy and enjoyable.
I would HIGHLY recommend this vacation home for you next getaway!
My stay at the Swift family condo over the March 1st weekend was ideal. This was my third time to rent this expansive condo and my fishing buddies and I could not have been more comfortable. This place is more suited for families because of the kids bunkroom, but I like to stay there when I fish because 1) the owner is easy to deal with and very accessible, 2) the inside of the condo has construction details that I have not seen elsewhere, which gives it a touch of elegance, and 3) the location is very convenient to my fishing holes and to the beach. Overall, I have not found a place on North Padre Island that has more value than this one.
Very nice, well furnished with all the amenities you could possibly want. Swimming was great, right off the dock. Very good place to dock a boat. Stairs got to be kind of difficult for a 65 year old with bad knees, but the view was worth it.
