Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Past guests have been very happy with our home and return year after year. It is very welcoming and family friendly. It is also very easy to access and to find but offers complete privacy. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor with private access to bath, 2 bedrooms, bath and sitting room downstairs in the Bear's Den and a large master suite with sitting loft and large bath with whirlpool. There is also a full deck with birch Adirondack chairs and a grill. Folks can be grilling while some of you are enjoying a game of horseshoes! Within a few miles you will be able to swim, kayak (rentals at the beach) fish and play volleyball at the town beach at Lake Everest. The beach also has a wonderful toddler playground and a lifeguard on duty. You can hike, cross country ski and mountain bike on a new set of trails 1 mile from the house. You can also ski, or snowshoe and in the Fall ride the gondola to the top of the mountain for a feast of color you will never forget!

And, of course there is the village of Lake Placid with the Olympic venues, horse shows, great shopping and a great relaxing spot, The Cottage, on Mirror Lake. We have created many friends and family memories here at Innisfree (Yeats favorite place) and offer the same for you.

Enjoy!

About Joan Morris

We built this house to spend time with our grandchildren and are willing to share with families appreciating their time together.

Joan Morris purchased this house in 2005

Why Joan Morris chose Wilmington

We love the Adirondacks and all it is has to offer. Innisfree is a haven for our family to come together and enjoy skiing, hiking, and the entirety of the Lake Placid region. We are confident you will relish your time here as we have since its construction in 2005.

What makes this house unique

The Adirondacks themselves constitute the breathtaking scenery that is ubiquitous in the area. The serene view of the peaks can be enjoyed over an Ubu Ale from the Lake Placid Brewery on Innisfree's deck. For the adventurous, the multitude of peaks, trails, and hikes in the region offer unparalleled views. Innisfree is a sanctuary that was built to reflect the atmosphere of the stunning area it inhabits.

Our family of 7 adults and 2 children found this home to be perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Innisfree is a lovely retreat in the woods that is secluded yet close to many attractions. We hiked day after day, found little family restaurants, played putt-putt, enjoyed the beach at Lake Everest, the Bike Park and playground, bowled, canoed, and had a day in Lake Placid. We found the home to feel like a home away from home with space to be together or have a quiet time alone- plenty of room to stretch out inside and out! Thanks for the memories

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed the house. I have informed our caretaker of the grill issue, he is taking immediate care of it.

EXCELLENT!

We had a terrific time! Secluded but close to a lot of fun things to do. Watching the biking portion of the Ironman Triathlon was a neat experience too.

Beautiful home with a lot of space

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful home (the photos don't do it justice) although there are neighbors nearby, this house is set back enough to feel as though you're far enough away. We used the grill every night and it even came with another tank of propane if we had needed it. Nearest gas station was 7 minutes away which was very convenient. Only thing that could have made this trip better was if we had better weather. Would definitely rent again!

Perfect cabin close to every attractions!

  • 5 of 5

We were on a mountain bike week end, and we all loved the cabin. We were a fullhouse, and we had more than enough space for everyone. For chilling outside or inside, the cabin makes it perfect. It is close to Whiteface mtn and Lake Placid, and we had some mountain bike and hiking trails at less than a mile from the cabin. The owner answered all of my question, and she is very nice!
