|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Life can be crazy and time consuming; it's easy to lose touch with our families and ourselves. If you're looking for a place to run away with the kids or if you just need to leave the world behind you for a while? Stop looking. Book your chance to reconnect today!
From the moment you enter the driveway, you begin to understand the meaning of serenity. As you open the door of the chalet, tucked away on the mountain, sunlight from the wall of windows draws you.
When you look out, all you can see are miles of mountains and fields. You turn around and the cozy feeling of the living room invites you to sit down and enjoy the surroundings.
The outside world seems miles away...you can take that much needed time to relax...reconnect with yourself, your family and nature.
The Chalet offers 2 ponds, a one-acre pond located in front of the house is visible from the living room. It is about 20 feet deep which is great for swimming, ice skating or build a fire in the fire pit and watch the sunset. The second pond is located just behind the house and provides picnic tables, a fire pit, benches along the shore line, catch & release fishing and a seasonal waterfall. What a great place for your family to spend countless hours enjoying the outdoors.
Relax!: We have you covered on your vacation! If you are worried about what you will find when you get there.. DON'T! My family and I take great pride in our Chalet. We try to add new comforts every year. 2010's addition include new bunk beds, new gas grill, new leather furniture and beautiful lamiate floors. So chill out and read our reviews! You won't be disappointed!
My husband and I opened the Chalet for business in 2003. We had originally planned to retire to the Chalet, but since we started our family late in life things have changed a little. My husband just recently retired from the State Police. Thus we are at a point in our lives where.. It's all about the kids! YEAH! Life is short, so why not enjoy it while it lasts!
Sonya purchased this chalet in 2001
We fell instantly in love the Wellsboro. The second we came into town and saw the gas lantern lined streets we were hooked. Wellsboro is a very quaint little town.. You'll be amazed when you see the PA Grand Canyon.. It's Beautiful.. especially in the Fall!
We stayed in the Chalet for a girls holiday get together and to check out Wellsboro's famous Dickens Christmas event. We found the Chalet without problems (my GPS actually took me right to the driveway). The road in and the driveway are dirt roads and steep at times so I would say that if there is the possibility of rain, ice or snow, 4 wheel drive would be helpful. The Chalet was perfectly suited for us-- a nice great room where we were able to hang out, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of beds. The grounds were also lovely for some light hiking. It happened to be really cold when we were there so we didn't get to take advantage of fire pit or outside amenities but there was a play set and 2 lovely ponds! We were really close to town (~6 miles) and were able to get in to the craft fair and to check out some places to eat.
Sonya is an excellent host and responds quickly to any questions you may have. I would have to say that this was the most memorable vacation that I have had and will be back to try and top it. The property is so peaceful and the view is beyond words. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place for you!
This was our second stay at the Chalet. We will definitely come back. The property is beautiful as is the Chalet. Lots of nice little touches in the Chalet. Very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is very well stocked with supplies. Our dog loves to roam the property. There are some great hikes in the area or just enjoy the land around the Chalet.
Very nice Property. The location is well off the beaten path and provides a lot of peace & quiet. The grounds are well maintained and beg to be explored. The house was on the big side for just two of us but very well appointed and comfortable. Did not have time to use the house or property to its fullest since we only stayed for two nights. Close enough to Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon to be super convenient. took us a little bit to get our bearings to travel back and forth to the house. Definitely would recommend for a "Family Get-Away"
We were first timers at the Chalet, but we will definitely be going back! Right when we drove up the long, private driveway we were impressed! After we walked in, it was hard to believe just how clean, well-kept, and nice the inside was. The large window covering almost the entire wall looks out to the mountains and sunset. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and the property has everything you need for every age. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, fishing, laying in the hammocks, and our 18month old guest absolutely loved the outdoor play set. It is so private and quiet you feel like you are the only one on the entire mountain. We cannot wait to return!!! Our only suggestion would be to add another toilet downstairs (for convenience with 6 adults!) Cannot wait to return next year!
Very scenic and private. Great view from the living room. Lots of wildlife and good fishing. We had invited friends but were glad they turned us down after seeing that there was only one small bathroom. But it was great for us and we enjoyed our stay. Wellsboro is a neat little town and the State parks nearby are beautiful especially the PA Grand Canyon.
