Old World Charm w/Contemporary Design-Hard Wood Floors-Wainschottin-Stainless Appliances. Located in one of Brooklyn's historic area known for its beautiful Brownstones and Great architectural structures. Just a 5 minute walk to the 'A' train. The 'A' train is just a 15 minute express ride to Manhattan. The apartment is in close proximity to Prospect Park, Brooklyn Academy Of Music (B.A.M), Atlantic Mall, Restoration Plaza and Barclay Center. The home of The Brooklyn Nets and one of the best entertainment centers in New York. There are plenty of local restaurants and late night stores in the area. The apartment is perfect for a couple, but can accommodate three close relatives or friends. It has one queens size bed and one futon (sofa bed). The futon is more comfortable for one person, but can sleep two small children. This is a private studio apartment that comes with everything you would expect to find in your home. Kitchen, bathroom, free wifi, cable TV and more. This is your 'Home away from home'.
The accommodation is perfect for a couple and we stayed for five nights. Though the apartment is small it is quite comfortable, the kitchen is clean and modern and has all the requirements for an extended stay, the bed is a good size and we slept well. The bathroom could use some updating, however it was clean and usable. The area is very quiet and close to the subway to get into New York, we felt quite safe there. John is a lovely man, very helpful but respected our privacy. For the price I think we got very good value.
The appartment is perfect for a sightseeing trip to NY. It is well equipped, clean and the surrounding offers everything you need. We would definitely recommend this location.
I stayed in this apartment in March of this year.Everything was just as pictured! John Brake was so very nice to work with! He helped us with any issues that we had.He was extremely helpful in guiding us with our transportation needs. The neighborhood was very safe and we were not worried making the short walk to the subway.I will stay here again of I'm ever back in NY!
John and Kim are so nice. If you want to stay in Brooklyn with nice people, stay here. I took my mom and sisters, who have never seen outside of Times Square to stay here in Brooklyn. They were so pleasantly surprised to see a different, more nice and kind side of NY. I would definitely stay there again.
We arrived late at our destination, however the owners were very accommodating. They even provided us with bottled water, which was very kind as the children were very tired as our flight was delayed by 2 hours.
Our family consisted of Mum, dad, 2 boys one aged 8 and one aged 12.
I would give the place 3 stars however it gets 2 stars because none of us had a good nights sleep at this rental accommodation. The sofa bed was just too small, my boys tried to sleep on the sofa bed however they kept falling out of the bed as there was simply not enough room for the both of them. This meant that our son kept climbing into our bed, hence very exhausted parents.
In addition the accommodation is very dated and needs updating and very dusty.
It has a kitchen area which was useful, we used it in the morning to make porridge and have a cup of tea.
There were no loud parties and the road was quiet at night which was good.
Despite all the above you get what you pay for and in saving on the rental price we were able to do and see so much in New York. We still had a great holiday as New York city is truly amazing.
The rental apartment is not far from the station, around 5 mins to walk I did feel a little vulnerable at the beginning however I did get used to it.
I have been as honest and fair, the owners are helpful and will try there best to help you if you need anything.
John and Kim were amazing hosts. Their apartment was great and I felt totally safe in the neighborhood, the subway was literally 5 minutes away and was close to restaurants, grocery stores and shopping.
I'm coming back in August and I'll definitely be staying here again if it's free. Thank you again to John & Kim for their hospitality.
