Many thanks to all of the Brown family. We enjoyed the peaceful time we spent at your wonderful home. The beauty & craftsmanship of the cottage make it my favorite of places. The horse ride in the morning and the hike on the trail was a great blessing. Thanks again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We felt right at home. It was close to downtown Waco and Magnolia Market. We would definitely recommend this home to our family and friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Being on the same property as a homestead community made it easy to get everything we needed... Farm fresh groceries at the market, organic BBQ and cheese shop, and a delicious restaurant where you might just run into a local celebrity couple! They are the sweetest women you will ever meet living and working in this area. The name 'Jenni' is carved into the piece of pottery i purchased and so I pray for her and the rest of the homestead heritage community. We learned a lot about the history of this area while we were here. Plus, The ice cream is delicious. We woke up one morning to horses grazing in our front yard. It was amazing.
What a great weekend getaway location! This was truly a lovely cabin on a beautiful property. It was immaculately clean and extremely well appointed. We enjoyed a horse back ride led by one of the owner's sons, making smores in the campfire ring by the cabin, and just soaking in the beautiful scenery. Because of a rainy week before we arrived, the river was moving swiftly and the banks were very muddy which kept us from using the canoes and from fishing. We hope to return and enjoy this spot with family again.
This is a beautiful, secluded place with a true, rustic feel. The King bed was very comfortable! The property was very clean and you have everything you need to cook a meal in the kitchen or on the grill. The front porch looks out over the pond and lovely flower bushes which draws hummingbirds. At the end of the road is a pavilion along the banks of the Brazos River where Canoes can be found if you choose to float the river. It was extremely hot during our stay, so we opted to not ride horses, which was our original intention. At the entrance of the property is a cafe which is a must-visit! There's also a craft barn there which we loved wandering through. We made this trip with another couple whom we travel with frequently. Their visit was cut short due to a family emergency. As the description of the property states, this property has no TV and no WiFi. We depend upon internet to help us determine what we want to do once we arrive at a location (such as where to shop, eat, sight-see, etc). Between us, we had 3 of the major cell phone carriers and none of us had good cell service. So with the absence of WiFi, we weren't successful with our internet searches. This is the only issue which caused us concern. We didn't miss the TV as they have cards and dominoes in one of the drawers and we brought our own games as well, but we did miss the wifi. Other than that, this is a gorgeous get away!
I used to live in the country and living in the city so long it was a retreat to be able to just relax and enjoy the cabin. Also the Homestead was awesome to visit and watch them make things out of metal, potty, wood, and weave. Great place and surly will come back.
Brazos Bluffs Ranch is located next to the popular farm of Brazos de Dios, home of award winning craftsmen. Take time to tour its numerous historic structures, including its working gristmill built in 1760, and its pottery, blacksmith, spinning, weaving and woodworking shops. Its craft campus, general store and restaurant featuring all natural beef and locally grown grains and vegetables are open Monday through Saturday until 6:00 p.m. You may want to sign up for one of their many craft or homesteading workshops, e.g. cheese making or woodworking.
