Overview

Lower Moonridge House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Summer and Fall on the Lake and beautiful blue skies....it doesn't get any better!

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood on a corner lot and very little drive-by traffic. Our floors have recently be upgraded throughout the house with nice travertine tiles, new carpeting and laminate wood flooring. We also recently upgraded our kitchen (granite countertops, new appliances) and bathrooms.

Our house has been described as having a 'treehouse' feel to it...at an elevation of over 7,200 feet, our house is above the lake in the Moonridge area, so panoramic views abound. Our place is perfect to just chill out at our quiet retreat and enjoy the view, fresh air or, build a big fire in our gas and wood fireplace and watch a movie together on our HDTV plasma flatscreen with surround sound!

If you are interested in renting a 'home' instead of merely a cabin in Big Bear, then our house is perfect for you.

Our home is located in Moonridge area of Big Bear City (the eastern part of the lake). It is a very quiet and peaceful area-but, still only five minutes from town, the ski resorts, shopping and the lake. While relaxing on our ample balcony space, you will witness nightly panoramic views of the local mountains-and the sunsets are to die for.

Our home is tastefully decorated with pine and brick colors from the nature around it -- there are many 'bear' and outdoor themes in the house. The lighter colors help to give it an open and airy feel. Also, unlike many of the older cabins and homes in the area, our house does not have any of the mildew or moldy smells that are common. There is an amazing open and airy main family room where everyone in your family can congregate to watch a movie with our 42' plasma HDTV w/surround sound system, play a game or share some dinner in front of the fireplace.

Each room is well appointed with a queen size bed, dresser drawers and a television in each bedroom and DVD player in most. There is speedy wireless internet throughout for all your gadgets and we supply a desktop computer for your internet surfing pleasure. We keep an ample supply of magazines, books and videos on site. We have iPOD docking stations in the master and one guest room. For the kids, we have an air hockey table, Playstation console w/games, kids toys, tons of kids books an razor scooters, kid furniture, videos, games and their own TVs, in addition to ample play area in the back of the house --- an extremely safe area for the kids to play. If you have babies or toddlers, we provide childproofing gates and rails to help keep them safe (this is a two story house and we do have steep internal and external stairwells). A note for those with pets -- while we do welcome house trained pets, our outside yard is not fenced -- this is the wilderness after all!

There is comfortable enclosed garage parking for two small cars and space for one other car on the driveway. We have no neighbors on three sides of us -- the trees on the property give one the feeling of serene privacy and peace.

Exactly as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home high up in the mountains, nice neighbors, and fire roads and trails abound for runners, hikers, or mountain bikers in the summer! Close enough to town to grab what you need. Fun to get lost!

Home DOES need someone to come and spend 8 hours or so cleaning out the game closet (no complete games), getting rid of the VHS movies and old coffee pots (none worked) and old technology laying around....all the junk is great to an extent, but i think at least 50% of the closets full of kids' toys and kitchen cups, etc could disappear. Just needs a dash of TLC to be perfect. And--people drink coffee--make sure the coffee pot WORKS! Update utensils and kitchen stuff. :)

Still gets a 5 star rating though! Owner great to work with! We would book again!

Very nice stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the home over the 4th of July weekend. Three couples and two toddlers felt quite at home and very comfortable. Would recommend getting a box fan for the downstairs room in the back of the house.

Kitchen had everything we need to grill, bake, make smoothies, etc.

Living room was perfect for the lot of us.

Sunsets were AMAZING off the deck.

Would definitely stay again!

Spacious cabin, clean and neat

  • 4 of 5

We spent 5 nites here over Christmas. When we looked out the windows we felt like we were in a treehouse. Loved having the garage, especially when we had to chain up to leave. This house is the most spacious we have ever stayed at and we have been going up to the mountains ever Christmas for about the past 16 years. It is a beautiful neighborhood and enjoyed walking around it. Suggestions to owner were to upgrade bed linens and sofa's in living room. Very good WiFi. Owner was very responsive to us.

Perfect Getaway for the Family!!!

  • 5 of 5

I have been going to Big Bear for years but have been unsatisfied with the accommodations. This weekend, my wife and I -- and our two young kids -- stayed at this beautiful house with completely modern accommodations. We had all of our needs taken care of: garage, full kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and close location to Bear Mountain. My wife - who is used to traveling to Hiltons for business - fell in love with the extremely comfortable beds. My kids played with board games all night in the roomy living room. Meanwhile, I enjoyed a fine wine and looked out across the gorgeous mountain top view. Later, we invited my sister's family over for dinner, and everyone enjoyed themselves. This house is a perfect weekend getaway for the family!!!

In addition to the obvious skiing, boarding and snowplay activities in the winter Big Bear now has tons of spring, summer and fall activities. Hiking and mountain biking are plentiful; ziplining is close by; there is an Octoberfest each year from early Sept through October and a pretty solid 4th of July fireworks presentation each year. There is a Children's Discovery Center nearby and Big Bear lake permits tons of boating, wave runners, fishing, motorboat and paddleboard activities. Our area is quiet and safe enough that the kids can simply walk and play on scooters etc... in our neighborhood.
