A true weekend getaway! Completely secluded with outstanding views from snow-capped Mt. Baker and the Cascade Range, in the east, multiple islands seemingly floating in the sound in the north and northwest, plus the sparkling lights of Vancouver in the evening.
A newer, lovely cabin on Buck Mountain awaits you. Enjoy summer light until late in the evening, followed by rosy sunsets and then, star-filled skies. 10 acres for you to enjoy walks, games, a night at the fire pit roasting marshmallows, or sitting in the hot tub enjoying the magical views!
My husband, Bathan, built this cabin for us in 2004 and it was our home for the first 5 years of our marriage. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts! It was where we were engaged, the place he carried me through the door for the first time after we said our vows, and we hope to one day move back to this beautiful, secluded property. So, please don't miss out on this opportunity to experience a one-of-a-kind getaway.
Victoria Shaner purchased this cabin in 2004
We were fortunate enough to buy this beautiful property in '99, and build our very first home, this cabin, as newly weds in 2004. When we set our eyes on this property, we knew this was where we wanted to build.
One of the most special benefits is when you first arrive. You realize you're removed from it all, surrounded by complete beauty, serenity, peace, and freedom to roam as we own the 13 acres around the cabin. It is truly a breath of fresh air every time we drive up the driveway!
"This cabin is very special-the most peaceful, quiet, place I've ever been. The perfect place to reflect, to heal. It was difficult to leave each day so this my last day, I stayed to experience every last moment. Thank you for sharing this special place."
The views from this cabin were breathtaking. And to have the deck with the hot tub overlooking it, was a special treat. The cabin was so cozy and cute, even from inside you got the views. Everything was perfect! This was exactly what me and my husband needed after a very stressful year. We enjoyed every minute there and did not want to leave. I will recommend this treasure to all my friends and family.
My husband and I stayed here as part of a trip touring the Pacific Northwest. Victoria's property is with every penny of the rental fee. The view is breathtaking. It's hard to imagine that it's even possible to have a house somewhere so beautiful, but this cabin is it!! I was blown away by how clean it was on our arrival, and and everything you could need is all provided. We never had a fire, but all the things you would need for one are there. The hot tub was amazing. The deck chairs are super comfortable. The climb to the loft is steep. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, book this property immediately!! Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven with us!
We loved our stay at this cabin on Orcas--just the size we needed, nice and secluded from the business of Eastsound, and gorgeous views. We enjoyed coffee each morning and dinner each evening on the deck. Unfortunately it was rather overcast on the mainland and we didn't see the mountains until we got a peek the last night. The highlight was one morning when an eagle flew over our heads, landed about 50 yards up the driveway, looked around, then picked up some grass and swooped back over us to dive down to the water. Amazing! Not a minute later a hummingbird buzzed past. Fell asleep each night to open windows and ocean breezes. And loved watching sunsets from the hot tub!
Without a doubt this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. The view was spectacular. The cabin was simple but cozy and the hot tub topped it off. You have complete privacy on this property. We loved every moment of our stay!
Before arriving, we had planned to go for some hikes for the expansive island views. We ended up never going because you couldn't beat the view from the cabin! Gorgeous cliff side views seeing all the way to Mt. Baker and Canada. The cabin is perfect for a couple looking for a private and romantic trip away. Beautiful scenery, isolated from neighbors, and close enough to town grab your morning coffee from Brown Bear (you really should go). Highly recommend!
You know you are staying in an utterly breathtaking gorgeous location when you are in mid sentence (several times), lose your train of thought and forget what you were talking about ......all to do with the beauty all around you. This place will knock your panties off with the views and location along with an awesome fire pit, hot tub and patio. WE loved waking up to the birds singing while the sun was rising over Mt. Baker and the Olympic Mountains. We tend to not stay at our accomodations for very long as we are out exploring......however, at this little cabin at the edge of heaven, we never wanted to leave. In the morning, we would wake up, sip coffee on the patio, then slide into the hot tub to watch the sun come up. I think we took over 50 pictures just at the cabin. The loft was super cute. Made me feel like a kid again based on how excited it made me. The view from the loft was stunning...the bed was super comfy. The cabin has everything you need... just bring some food and coffee. I wish I could upload photos because the photos posted here do no do the place justice. I think the owner Victoria wants to leave a surprise for all her guests. Do yourself an favor and book this cabin. You'll felt like you died and went to heaven! Happy Travels!!!
