Our beachfront home, aka the Pipe Bungalo, is the perfect little green beach house. Its custom glossy coconut and bamboo interior, 100% solar power, open floor plan, large deck, grill, and prime location please everyone from the Pipeline Masters to the individual looking for a peaceful summer getaway.
There are three queen beds and a bunk, but only one closed bedroom (where the bunks are located). The living room has a murphy bed with a clever roll out room divider that provides privacy and there is a great punee perfect for napping. There is one bathroom and a great outdoor shower. If the Pipe Bungalo can't host all in your group, contact us about our other nearby rental properties.
You don't really need to leave the house, but you can easily hop on the bike path and head to Waimea Bay, Sharks Cove or Sunset Beach. Foodland is just a mile away, and Haleiwa or Turtle Bay are just a 15 minute drive. Our location on the North Shore is ideal.
We are doing what we can to make The Pipe Bungalo your green option- from solar, to providing eco-soaps and cleaners, to facilitating convenient recycling/composting and even providing you home grown produce from our farm across the street.
Check out the weather- visit Surf News Network's website, click on 'Cams', and on 'Oahu- Pipeline', it sits on our roof!

Aloha we are the Judds! We love solar power, gardening, surfing and escaping to the beautiful North Shore.
The Owner purchased this house in 1969
Banzai Pipeline and Backdoor. Not only home to amazing waves, but a place to enjoy sunshine, shade, shells, swimming and sunsets over Kaena Point.
I love the outdoor solar heated shower and knowing that 100% of this home's electricity is provided by the photovoltaic system on the roof makes that cold beer taste that much better. It's also the best place in the world to wash dishes as you can watch your friends get barreled from the kitchen sink!
Great location. Beautiful and wide beach. Would definitely stay here again. Loved grilling on the deck and watching the sunset.
The view and location of this place can NOT be beat.
Tons of sleeping room, so this house can definitely cater to lots of people. The only "problem" I found, were the bunk beds not being made - so none of our kids could sleep on them! The bunk beds didn't have any sheets, and the sheets I found in the house were all marked "do not use, will be charged".
It wasn't a huge issue, we had our 3 kids sleep in the bed together - which was a little crammed, but they dealt with it. My husband and I took the bed in the front room, so we could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, and wake up to the sunrise and ocean waves.
The other reason for not giving 5 stars was the shower - although cool in theory, with the skylight and being open/light, it looks rather uninviting and dirty. I'm not sure if it's rusted?
The beach the house is on was a little too rough for our kids to swim in (ages 5 & 8, would be ok for older kids/teens), but they enjoyed playing on the beach and getting their feet wet. The house is very close to Sharks Cove, Three Tables and Waimea Bay, where we spent some of our days.
Meleana did call us the day we checked in (as I couldn't get the TV to turn on, and it was the start of the Olympics!) and she was very helpful and asked if we needed anything, or needed help booking anything.
For the location, I would book this place again. Close to cool beaches, and good eating spots.
For the price, on Pipeline, it'd be tough to beat. We stayed for two weeks in the house, and had a GREAT time! I was a little apprehensive due to the extra laid back way of communicating and arranging the business part of the rental BUT everything went off without a hitch. Bar none, the best location on Pipeline. We had 3 surf competitions right in front of our deck while there, average waves for the time were 20' faces. Comfortable bed in the 1 bedroom, my wife loved to wake up in the morning and change to the bed by the deck windows to watch the early surfers. This place could handle a family of 6-9 if you had adventurous kids that would climb to the third level bunk! Not enough privacy for two couples, but for kids it'd be great. I will be going back, hopefully each year!!
I had my 30th birthday at this house with a small group of friends. It was wonderful. Right on the beach, super comfortable and convenient place for dinners and enjoying Hawaii. Amazing views of the surf, which breaks surprisingly close to shore. Would be perfect for experienced surfers, but also great for those who like to watch from the deck with great barbecue! I hope I get to go back ... would love to.
We love this house. It's everything Hawaii should be. Peaceful, relaxing, and on a perfect beach. The house presented our extremely busy lives a perfect family vacation. We Cooked here overlooking the ocean, I never minded doing dishes once! Mele treated us with Hawaiian style, like family. We ate fresh food from her farm and felt honored to be a guest. I wrote about our experience on our businesses website blog a tnectarclothing, the vacation home taught me a lot about everyday living and sustainability.
My wife and I arrived from Truckee, CA and our friends came in from Bozeman, MT the end of May and arrived at the beach house right before sunset. What a great way to start our 3 day stay on the North Shore. Coming from nighttime temperatures in the 20's in both Truckee and Bozeman, it couldn't have been nicer to to spend our first night on the deck of this awesome bungalow right on the beach. The house was the perfect combination of comfort and uniqueness (solar powered!) with an open floor plan and all the amenities you needed (boogie boards, fins, bikes, grill, full kitchen) for a fun stay. We had a great visit with the owner who not only was gracious and informative, but we bought a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) fruit and vegetable basket from her organic farm just across the road. We hated to leave but had other adventures on the Big Island to experience.
