The Isle of Palms, like all barrier islands, has a dynamic beach near the inlet that separates the island from Dewees Island. The ebb and flow of the changing tides, through the inlet, creates and moves sand bars just off shore. These sandbars will channel waves between them, resulting in the massive buildup of sand along portions of the island where other areas may develop temporary erosional hot spots. These hot spots will feature a sand beach throughout the day outside an hour or so before and after high tide. Where a dry sand beach may be limited in these few areas at high tide, walking either direction will lead to an area where the sandbars have created an expansive beach to enjoy at any tide.

we have been asking for them to paint for 5 years...now there is no beach half of the day. they are charging too much for this property that has not been taken care of...it is a shame
The beach has dramatically eroded and we were not told of this when we rented. At high tide there is nowhere to put beach chairs. The condo is outdated and all of the kitchen items are cheap and don't work well. I would highly recommend finding another one of the Seagrove units that has been kept up yo date. Last the cleaning crew left dirty sheets on our pullout bed so we had to do laundry the first night there.
We recently stayed at this condo. The view was spectacular, we had great ocean views. The patio was perfect for sitting and having coffee and dinner. Though, there were not 2 tables on the patio. The reason I gave it only 3 stars, the condo was in desperate need of much needed repair work. The patio door was difficult to open, shut and lock. The kitchen windows were difficult to open, the knobs kept falling off. We were extremely disappointed we couldn't grill. There was no mention of it, would have been nice to know before we came. We came with food for grilling. Then we were stuck using the stove and oven more than we wanted. The oven was awful, wonder when the last time it was cleaned? The bedding was not very pleasant to sleep in, not very clean. I think this place could use some major TLC.
We had a wonderful long weekend in this beautifully furnished condo. The location was perfect and the view was awesome. We hope to use it again soon.
We had a terrific stay at this condo - right on the beach and only about a 5-minute walk from the tennis courts. The location was perfect, and the condo was quite nice. The furnishings are a touch out-dated, but comfortable and clean. My only complaint was that, because the floors are ceramic tile, you can hear the people above you moving around. It wasn't a major propblem - people are generally fairly quiet in Wild Dunes. But there was one evening when the people above us were up and about quite late (well after midnight), and it was difficult for us to get to sleep.
