Wild Dunes Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This one bedroom condominium is situated right on the beach among the “Sea Oats and Surf”. You are in the perfect place for gorgeous, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding beach. Step out onto your private porch and take in the afternoon breezes, or sit back and relax listening to the sounds of the ocean. The porch also features comfortable seating as well as direct access down to the beach. Location is everything at 1 A Seagrove and is the primary reason, next to price, in choosing this condominium, which is ideally located to offer some of the best views on the Island.

This oceanfront condominium has plenty of space for two or up to four people on your Isle of Palms, South Carolina beach vacation. “Sea Oats and Surf” features a king bed in the master bedroom. The living room is highlighted by enormous glass panels that offer beautiful views from both the living and dining area as well as the kitchen. The dining area features seating for four people. Another great feature of “Sea Oats and Surf” is the swimming pool that is just adjacent to the property. It is reserved for the exclusive use of guests at Seagrove Villas. Finally, “Sea Oats and Surf” is located just down the beach from the Wild Dunes Grand Pavilion. Within a five minute walk, you can enjoy oceanfront dining at the Grand Pavilion Café, a drink at the Grand Pavilion Bar, a refreshing ice cream cone from the ice cream shop or pick up sunscreen at the Surf Shop. Live entertainment can often be found during summer evenings on the Grand Pavilion as well.

Where the homes décor is comfortable, it does not feature many recent upgrades in the bath and kitchen, which is reflected in its attractive pricing. Please review the photo tour regarding the quality of the furnishings and fixtures. ”Sea Oats and Surf” are a perfect Carolina combination just like your vacation in this wonderful condominium.

Features Wild Dunes Resort Club Sports Card! A Sports Card is required to access the Club Swim Center, Club Fitness Room (entry fee), Tennis Center (court fees apply). Access granted to Palm Cove Pool after 3pm and Boardwalk Inn Pool after 4pm with Sports Card.

The Isle of Palms, like all barrier islands, has a dynamic beach near the inlet that separates the island from Dewees Island. The ebb and flow of the changing tides, through the inlet, creates and moves sand bars just off shore. These sandbars will channel waves between them, resulting in the massive buildup of sand along portions of the island where other areas may develop temporary erosional hot spots. These hot spots will feature a sand beach throughout the day outside an hour or so before and after high tide. Where a dry sand beach may be limited in these few areas at high tide, walking either direction will lead to an area where the sandbars have created an expansive beach to enjoy at any tide.

Needs an update

  • 3 of 5

The beach has dramatically eroded and we were not told of this when we rented. At high tide there is nowhere to put beach chairs. The condo is outdated and all of the kitchen items are cheap and don't work well. I would highly recommend finding another one of the Seagrove units that has been kept up yo date. Last the cleaning crew left dirty sheets on our pullout bed so we had to do laundry the first night there.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your visit to the Isle of Palms and for choosing 1A Seagrove. Seagrove is a wonderful community within Wild Dunes Resort. Each property has a unique design and offers direct access to the beach from the deck. This is truly unique. The view from 1A Seagrove is stellar of the dunes and ocean! Like any community, the quality of an individual home is different from property to property. It is based on the taste and objectives of the individual that owns the property. As a management team, our goal is to keep each property clean and well maintained while pricing the property based on its location, view, amenities and quality. 1A Seagrove offers accommodations that are comfortable with amazing views at a price that is of great value when compared to similar sized properties within the Resort community. The size of the beach in any coastal community will vary based on tides, recent weather, period of the year and phase of the moon. There are certain periods where all of these features will come together to create what is called a flood tide. Unfortunately, when this occurs, it will reduce the area of dry beach at high tide, cause minor flooding in the Historic District in Charleston and submerge the tide grasses between the island and main land. It is difficult when a flood tide occurs in the middle of the day causing the area of dry beach to be reduced at the prime beach time, but it does allow for excellent fishing and the surf to be at its best. I would like to apologize for the difficulties that you experienced in regards to the sleeper sofa sheets. These are to be removed following each guest departure, with a clean set of sheets in the master bedroom closet secured in shrink-wrap. I feel very strongly that any negative experience our guests encounter is unacceptable; not only to me, but also to our entire Beachside Team. Guest feedback is always appreciated and taken very seriously. Thank you so much for sharing this with us so that we can address your experience with the housekeeper and the inspector of the property to ensure it will not occur in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and observations.

Nice view

  • 3 of 5

We recently stayed at this condo. The view was spectacular, we had great ocean views. The patio was perfect for sitting and having coffee and dinner. Though, there were not 2 tables on the patio. The reason I gave it only 3 stars, the condo was in desperate need of much needed repair work. The patio door was difficult to open, shut and lock. The kitchen windows were difficult to open, the knobs kept falling off. We were extremely disappointed we couldn't grill. There was no mention of it, would have been nice to know before we came. We came with food for grilling. Then we were stuck using the stove and oven more than we wanted. The oven was awful, wonder when the last time it was cleaned? The bedding was not very pleasant to sleep in, not very clean. I think this place could use some major TLC.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your visit and for taking the time to reach out to our team in regards to your experience. I would like to apologize for the difficulties that you experienced with the condition of property. I feel very strongly that any negative experience our guests encounter is unacceptable; not only to me, but also to our entire Beachside Team, and guest feedback is always appreciated and taken very seriously. Our staff takes great pride in working with our guests to make sure they have a memorable experience. It is terribly disappointing that your vacation was disrupted by issues related to patio door, windows and regulations regarding outdoor grilling. Being a condominium, the exterior features of the structure are outside the control of this individual property owner. The exterior was upgraded a few years ago from wood to hardi-plank and looks terrific. We will definitely inform the homeowner’s association regarding the need to service the windows and door at this property. Thank you so much for sharing with us your experience regarding these features of the property. Being a condominium, having an open grill flame grill is a terrible fire hazard and against building codes for the City of Isle of Palms in multiple family dwellings. There are public grilling areas on the Island and in several communities. I apologize that there was not a public grilling station within the Seagrove Community. We make every attempt to match the guest expectation with the vacation rental destination. This is achieved through yearly photographs of the property and lists of amenities offered. I am sorry that the list of options does not specify that grills are not allowed. The amenity list only highlights the amenities when they are present. Seagrove 1 A has tremendous views with easy access to the beach. The property owner recently added a new dining room table, refrigerator and living room rug to the condominium. We will certainly work on enhancing the patio furniture so that future guests will be even more comfortable taking in this amazing view.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

We had a terrific stay at this condo - right on the beach and only about a 5-minute walk from the tennis courts. The location was perfect, and the condo was quite nice. The furnishings are a touch out-dated, but comfortable and clean. My only complaint was that, because the floors are ceramic tile, you can hear the people above you moving around. It wasn't a major propblem - people are generally fairly quiet in Wild Dunes. But there was one evening when the people above us were up and about quite late (well after midnight), and it was difficult for us to get to sleep.
