Hello Nathan, Just wanted to say "Thank you" for sharing your condo with us. It was very nice (no problems). The view from the porch was so amazing. I hope I never forget that picture in my head. We snorkeled off the beach and we went on a New Horizon's sailboat over to St. John- awesome day! Take care,

Great, Relaxing Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 7 wonderful days in Dr. Nathan's condo. We've only been home for 4 days and cannot wait to go back. The condo is great. It is just as described. We loved being right on the water. The views were wonderful. We took walks a couple times a day down to the point and down to the sandier end of the beach, but found that we preferred to lay out in the chairs right in front of the condo since it was so quiet and peaceful on that end. It was also nice snorkeling right out in front if the condo. We took a taxi to Charlotte Amalie to do some shopping, and did a little shopping right there in Red Hook, as well. We did go sailing one day on Captain Pam's Fantasy Daysail. We really enjoyed sailing. This was our first time out sailing. We snorkeled with the turtles, stingrays, etc. while out sailing and had a nice meal. I do recommend this. We also took the ferry to St. John one day. There we did a little shopping and spent time at Trunk Bay, which was Beautiful. As I mentioned, we cannot wait to go back. I would highly recommend Dr. Nathan's condo.

Convenience and comfort with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed 7 nights along with our 2 young children. Sapphire Beach is a gorgeous location and the view from this unit is fabulous. There was always a breeze on this side of the resort. My children enjoyed playing in the rocks and sand. I would suggest water shoes because the rocks are sharp. The current is a bit strong as well, so swimming is not ideal but it is only a 2-3 minute walk to the other end where it is better to swim. The resort will bring you beach chairs at that end for no extra cost. We enjoyed the privacy on our end. The marina and laundry is right next to E building too.

The condo was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The AC was strong. The shower was large (a plus when I'm cleaning 2 children) with good water pressure and temperature. We had enough standard and beach towels for the week. Wifi worked well.

The location is so convenient. Red Hook, with the ferry, several restaurants, and grocery stores, is a 5 minute drive away.

Dr. Schatz was very available throughout the booking process and stay. Thank you for sharing this wonderful condo. If we return to St. Thomas, we will definitely book with you again!

Perfect condo

  • 5 of 5

We made the best possible choice with this condo. The owner was great ticowrk with!! The room is right on the beach with the ocean 20 steps from the beautiful spacious patio. Bottom floor is the way to go. This condo is on the east end with a rocky beach which we loved because there was no people traffic. It was like our private beach. Pool was very close and on the other side like 1-2 minute walk is beautiful sand. Nothing is as spread out as the pictures online make you think. And the price of this condo was so affordable!

The beach was in my front door.

I don't believe that Nathan had any idea that this would happen because he is in Pennsylvania. When we arrived the inside thermostat was showing 81 degrees so we turned the thermostat down a bit giving it a chance to cool down while we were unpacking. After a short period of unpacking we noticed that it wasn't getting any cooler and tried to adjust the thermostat again, only to realize that after 2 hours the temperature had gone up to 83 degrees. Our phone signals were not picking up, therefore we couldn't call any of the numbers that we were previously given should any problems occur. I had to go to the gate entrance and the guard allowed me to use his phone to call but I only got an answering machine. I left a message but there was no way for them to call back.

We tried the internet and couldn't gain access so we left the resort and headed downtown to McDonalds to get Wi Fi access. We sent Mr. Schatz an e-mail to let him know about the difficulties that we were facing.

We returned to the hot condo but couldn't sleep with the doors open because we were not familiar enough with the surroundings to feel comfortable. We attempted to watch TV in the sitting area only to find that the TV wouldn't turn on.

We turned the ceiling fan on high, laid down with our heads at the bottom of the bed which put our heads directly under the fan. Of course we slept on top of the covers to stay as cool as possible.

The next morning the House Keeper and maintenance showed up, the house keeper had a bit of a personality issue but maybe that's because I'm used to living in the South where most people are courteous when they are speaking to others. We found out that we had been given the wrong Wi Fi information and password, that got corrected. We found out that the remote was not the correct remote for the TV. The correct remote was found in a locked cabinet.

We had arrived on Tuesday but it was Wednesday afternoon around 5:40 pm before the AC was repaired. I had to stay inside the unit all day allowing maintenance in and out, therefore a day wasted which we had hoped to explore the island. After all of that, we noticed there was a brownish liquid flowing from beneath the owners closet door which was locked also. Maintenance had to call around and find a key to unlock the closet, then they called house keeping to clean up the oil. The next day there was another clear liquid coming from the same closet but we didn't even call about this, we just left the towels in t

Owner's Response: This was indeed a " perfect storm". The previous guest left several days before and had no problem. Late the night of Charles's arrival I received an email listing the problems and immediately called the general manager who sent the air conditioning repair man the first thing in the morning. He found an electrical problem and fixed it. The internet service was repaired after a power outage with a new modem and I was not notified of a new password. This was given to Charles by our next door guest. The TV remote was the correct remote but apparently died and was replaced by a new remote when new batteries failed to fix the problem. Several of these problems may have occurred after a storm related power outage. All that we could do is fix the problems which occurred, expeditiously ,which was done. I apologized to Charles several times and assured him that this was a unique occurrence. Problems occasionally occur and when they do it is fixed immediately. My understanding that the remainder of their stay went well after the unfortunate start. This was the worst start in 28 years of owning this condo. Nathan Schatz MD

I'm not providing anything but my 5 stars. This place needs to stay a secret or I risk not being able to use it again as it will be booked...

Very nice and comfortable.

I was very satisfied with my selection. The property is nice and the people are friendly. The only thing I wish was that the restaurant by the pool was open. It would really enhance this property. I would love to go back but next time I hope that the restaurant is open especially if we bring our adult children. We probably would never leave the resort if it were open.

Owner's Response: I am delighted that you enjoyed your vacation at our condo. Our COA has tried to get a restaurant at the pool to no avail. We do have a beach cafe serving lunch and drinks from 10AM to 4 PM daily. There is a restaurant above the marina at Sapphire Village. This is a 5 minute uphill walk. There are many restaurants in Redhook which is a 5 minute ride by car or taxi. Thank you for your kind words and please visit us again. Nathan Schatz MD

The picturesque, small yachting and boating village of Red Hook is located one-half mile away. You can reach it with a leisurely walk and/or use one of the air-conditioned cabs always available to take you to any of the nearby attractions. Red Hook has great restaurants, nightlife, gift stores, and the ferry that takes you to the nearby island of Saint John.

For those with an exploring nature, St. Thomas has a wide variety of attractions, including historic buildings, Blackbeard's castle, underwater submarine tour, boat tours, sky ride, marine park, and ecotours to name just a few of the spectacular sights to see and activities to enjoy. Of course, there is plenty of shopping and amazing restaurants for you to try.

Other Activities: Snorkeling in front of condo. Scuba diving available. Marina 50 feet away. Charter boats for deep sea fishing and sightseeing.
