Pouwel and Miriam Gelderloos are immigrants from the old country The Netherlands. After many adventures and travels they pitched their tent in Paradise Valley. They were fortunate to purchase their own 6 bedroom Paradise Mountain Retreat to raise their 8 children, spoiling them with wildlife, caves, cliffs, canyons, storytelling by campfires accompanied by the music of the hooting owls, cooing doves, twitter of song birds and the whispering winds.
Miriam is a former Montessori Teacher, Pouwel is a Builder/Designer/Innovator known for his signature craftsmanship. Come and vist his last project our solar powered and heated greenhouse. The Paradise Mountain Retreat is now available as a vacation rental,to share its countless bounty and blessings with kindred spirits.

The property really choose us. It was a perfect match. we were looking for mountains, wilderness, beauty, lots of space, a comfortable and cozy family home, sheltered garden, dramatic views and all this close to the magic of Yellowstone National Park. It is a central point between Bridger Bowl Ski Resort and Yellowstone Park. And here we are one half hour away from the Yellowstone National Park and an hour away from Bozeman, a bustling university town with its cultural and natural diversities. Not to forget to mention Historic downtown Livingston(half hour away), an eclectic gallery paradise with its eateries, breweries and wine cellars.
Our children grew up with weekly Chico Hot Spring visits ( 8 minutes away), bridge jumping and floating the Yellowstone River.( 5 minutes away) But most of all they lived daily with the wildlife wonders of a mini Yellowstone Park that covered and adjoined our 20+ acres of Paradise Mountain Retreat.
The property is situated at a precise midpoint in Paradise valley minutes from premium elk and deer public land hunting grounds and prime fishing on Yellowstone River. 30 Minutes away from North entrance to Yellowstone Park with access to Lamar Valley for prime winter wildlife viewing and cross country skiing among the geysers in Mammoth Hot Springs. The Paradise Mountain Retreat is Heaven for young and old. It always surpasses everyone's expectations. It is ideal for large groups and still cozy and intimate for a intimate getaway and for small families. It is a Real Home away from Home with enough room and space, inside as well as outside, for everyone to be happy. The gourmet cooks enjoy the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, the teenagers can't wait to explore the cliffs and canyons. The younger children spontaneously kick off their shoes, run out unto the inviting lawn exploring the tepee and discovering the dug in trampoline hidden by a a circle of green bushes and then run to the swing set. They will find a family of deer or rabbits somewhere hidden close by. Moms enjoy a quiet moment in the hammock under the trees. I will not forget to mention the views from artistically placed picture windows in the house, the stillness that speaks peacefully day and night, the starry sky adored from a soothing hot tub after a day of exploring The Yellowstone National park. The house is for rent by itself, however, tenters are welcome also. The larger Tee-pee is also available for adventurous spirits!
Take advantage of the many winter activities around. Great Snowmobiling and Cross Country skiing trails in Mill Creek and Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone Park, a 30 minute drive. Downhill skiing at Bridger Bowl, a 1 hour drive. Downhill sledding or dog sledding in Mill Creek, a 30 minute drive.
Thank you to Ia, Chris and Miriam for your incredible hospitality.
It is evident how much work and love goes into maintaining this beautiful place.
We had a wonderful time exploring and are great ful for all of your guidance.
this is a vacation none of us will forget. I believed our paths crossed for a reason and know that I will see you again.
I can't wait how this all unfolds.
thank you for everything!
Paradise Mtn Retreat owned by the Gelderloos is truly a place to bring family and friends for a home away from home getaway. A gorgeous serene property that provides much comfort and quietness that reminds one being in the wilderness with the best Emigrant Mountain view all day long. The fun opportunities are endless at the home or the surrounding closeness to Yellowstone Natl Park. We had a spectacular vacation week with extended family at the end of June, 19-26th, 2016.
Pouwel and Miriam are a warm and gracious hosting couple. So glad to see you two again.
We love Paradise Mountain Valley Retreat.

We had a great 2 week stay. First week we had 6 grandkids and their parents. The kids absolutely loved it here. They started out the week climbing the mountain/hill behind the house exploring the new surroundings. As the week went on the trampoline was the #1 amenity followed closely by the hot tub. After a day exploring Yellowstone the kids couldn't wait to get back to the house. The grownups enjoyed the outside decks and the views of Emigrant Mt.
The house comfortably handled 14 people. Kitchen was very nice and the big table was the center of activity for meals and card games later in the evening.
The family's of mule deer that were there every day added a great touch as well.
Great place with so many things for everyone! We had group of 17 people ranging in age from 3 to adult and this place has something for everyone. Not too far from Yellowstone to make a few day trips. Also the little gas station corner store in Emigrant has great stuff to fill in your grocery gaps. Miriam was very helpful and responsive to our questions.
I put together a surprise birthday weekend here with 16 of our closest friends from around the country and beyond; a handful of whom had never been to Montana before. The entire experience was perfection, thanks to the gorgeous property and the unspeakable hospitality of its owners, Miriam and Pouwel. Coordination for the trip was a breeze due to Miriam's quick message turnaround and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The home itself is tucked up against a beautiful canyon with several walking trails that reveal panoramic views of the Paradise Valley and is just minutes away from Chico Hot Springs. I cannot overstate the beauty of this place; but don't take my word for it. Do yourself a favor and book this property. Like, NOW.
Thanks again to Miriam & Pouwel for sharing their home with us. Cheers!
Our stay was very enjoyable. The house was very nice and included everything you could possibly need on a family get together. The house is very large and spacious, yet has a large family and dining room to pull the group all together. There is even a super cute nook with puzzles, color books and games for the kids. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 was, it would have been nice to have a heads up on how close the hosts lived to the property. Not that it was at all a problem, but it was quite the surprise when we arrived.
Over all I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We visited with snow still on the ground, which made our hot springs experience even better.
The house was comfortable, enough space for my family of 2 adults and 4 children. The kids loved the trampoline outside and the indoor ping pong table, I loved the view from the dinning table and all the deer that would come say hello for breakfast every morning. This part of Montana is very calm and relaxing. It is 50 min away from Yellowstone and the drive there is beautiful with Deer, Elk and Bison on the way. It is also a very easy one straight highway to and from Bozeman airport in 1 hour. The owners are very nice and available to help out at any time. We actually forgot our passports the morning we left for the airport at the house and Miriam was extremely nice enough to bring them and meet up half way to the airport so we wouldn't have to drive one more hours time and possibly miss the plane. We spent a happy relaxing week at the house :)
