About Adrianne Sever

We are two families who bought Villa Belitza in 2014 after falling in love with Nosara.

Adrianne Sever purchased this villa in 2014

Why Adrianne Sever chose Playa Guiones

We have rented a few different houses in the area including Villa Belitza, and loved the atmosphere, the privacy, the sound of the surf in the background, and the ease of getting to the beach through the direct beach path that Belitza offered. We also like that we could have some privacy as a family that the house offered. We could see ourselves raising our kids at the property over the next 20 years.

What makes this villa unique

Very few properties in Nosara offer direct beach access, where you can hear the sound of the surf in the background. The property itself is large, private, with lush grounds and serenity. It is a perfect location!

A Beautiful House in a Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Ah, Nosara. This was our first trip to this beautiful area. We have been back for less than a week and are already thinking about when we can return. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 children ages 5 & 9) stayed at Casa Belitza for 1 week in July. It is a fantastic house that offers outdoor living at its finest. For us, the highlights were the incredible backyard, pool, and the private jungle path, filled with curious little "halloween crabs", that leads you to the beach. We also loved having the outdoor kitchen area to cook fresh fish and relax with a glass of wine, while watching the geckos came out to chase insects. Really, you can not beat this location! Playa Guiones is definitely the place to be in Nosara. We went to Beach Dog Cafe a few times, indulged in massages at Tica Massage, and checked out the little shops in town-alll within walking distance. The house is nicely decorated and separated into three suites, as described in the listing. Casa Belitza is perfect for two families traveling together. It also worked for just our family. We enjoyed having access to all three suites. A couple things we noted were the main suite's master shower water pressure was running quite low during our stay. However, the junior suite's shower was really nice. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the terrace tiles can be quite slippery when wet. We utilized the yoga mats that were provided, and all was well. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. Ed, their property manager, was also quite helpful. He organized a fantastic zip line tour, and saw that a minor electrical problem was quickly remedied. We definitely recommend this house. It was the icing on top to a fantastic vacation.

Wonderful Family Stay!Thi

  • 5 of 5

Our last day here, so I am asking the family, mostly in the pool, what they would like to say about Casa Belitza. Here are the comments . . .

Perfect location. Great to have our own pool. Loved the private walk to the beach. Convenient to walk into restaurants and stores. Home lay-out is great for 3 families traveling together - some privacy to go with the together time. EVERYONE did a little surfing - not just the serious surfers, and all enjoyed many hours on the beautiful beach. Loved how close to nature - monkeys in the trees, cotes throught the deck area, iguanas close up. House is clean and relatively critter-free! Definitely would come back.

Everything we were hoping for

  • 5 of 5

The stay at the Belitza was wonderful. Ed was more than willing to arrange anything we needed for us and our group and had all the area info we needed. The house was perfect for our group and we surfed, beach, pool every day along with a few day excursions. We will most certainly return. It was obvious the owners have taken the time to keep the house up to date and in full working order along with necessary little things like lanterns and lights for when the power might go out. The trek down to the beach was a quick and easy and opened up right to the surf spot. the waters edge was gentle enough for the whole family. Only downside was what we called "the death tile" outside in back by the table which with wet feet all of the kids took a spill on on day one, even the adults came close. Luckly we found some yoga mats that obviously were used to remedy this danger but we could have used a few more. Worth noting this tile usage is common on patios on costa and just wanted to put the info out there to find the the mats and put them down on day one. We hired a housekeeper to come help clean up everyday and it was worth every cent. All in all we will be back to the Belitza and it wont be soon enough! Thanks again to the owners, Ed and all of the friendly locals and expats of Guiones. Pura Vida

Beautiful House and Location

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights in September. There were two different families totaling 11 of us. We all felt like we had plenty of space to sleep, hang out, and cook. The house has LOTS of comfortable spaces to hang out inside and out. Whether it be hammocks, couches, loungers, or chairs there was plenty of all. We also loved that there is so much wildlife all around. Monkeys, birds, iguanas, you name it we saw it. They also had a fruit tree there that was a mix of an orange and lime. We made juice out of it everyday and it was very tasty. The pool was also very refreshing and kept very clean. The outdoor grill was very handy as well as the outdoor shower. All the beds were very comfortable and the AC's worked very well. We were told that the tap water is safe to drink but in addition they also give you (2) 5 gallon jugs of water. The path leading to the beach is really cool. I think that was the kids favorite part because they saw so many cool creatures on the way. The beach at this property is beautiful. There is also what looks like a lava flow area down the beach that had lots of interesting marine life that you could explore. The fact that you could walk to town from this property was also a bonus. The property felt very safe and was fenced and locked all the way around. We didn't have anything stolen but we kept EVERYTHING locked and put away at all times. We chose to have the ladies come and cook for us 3 nights and I'm glad we did. They did an amazing job of preparing the food. They charge $15 per hour for cooking and $20 an hour if they do dishes also. It took them about 2 hours to prepare food for us. The cost of food was extra and they provided receipts.

The house manager for the property Ed was always available to answer questions. He also met us and took us to the house when we came into town. It was nice that he was able to call us through FaceTime Audio so we didn't have to use our international plan.

House does have alarm but all the units are connected even though the keypad is only in one unit. Make sure no one opens ANY doors in all units once you set it.

Roads are very rough coming into town. Our 15 passenger van hit bottom several times. It took us 3 hours to get here from Liberia.

Bring your own floats, beach chairs, boogie boards. There are none

This is a surfer town and has a very hippy vibe. It's not super touristy and therefore aren't very many restaurants open this time of year

FYI- no toilet paper can be thrown in toilet

"We're kinda staying at a mansion"

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 loved Villa Bellitza. When invited to stay out at a beach party, one member of our group said, "No thanks, I'm kinda staying at a mansion."

Most people in our crew surfed throughout the day, and the private jungle path to the beach was an asset. No coordination necessary. Want to surf? Walk down the path, and you're there.

On the path we saw monkeys and crabs. At the house, we had visitors including iguanas, a coati, raccoons, armadillos, and birds.

The house has plenty of room to spread out, hide from the sun, and hide from one another if necessary. Also, the plethora of outdoor seating and an inviting pool area drew the majority of the crew throughout the day. I didn't think the pool would be important. It was. It is HOT in the middle of the day, and the pool was the lifeline.

Town water shortages meant that water was turned off from about 6pm-7am, but you get used to it. Tried to sleep without using the A.C. but eventually caved. The A.C.s do a decent job cooling down the rooms, but especially the downstairs of the junior suite.

House is walkable to a variety of restaurants and bars, and makes for a fantastic home base. On a couple of days, I never left "the compound." Ed is a great property manager who helped us to coordinate a chef for the group - meals for the group of 10 were $100 (chicken meal) and $120 (fish) - definitely recommended.
