Property lived up to its name. Had a great experience. Its a shame that the suit we stayed in may no longer be available.
Our first trip to Tofino was amazing. We made the long trip from Seattle and in the end realized we really needed at least a week more to enjoy the area. A big part of our success on the trip can be attributed to our accommodations. The Million Dollar View studio proved to be a great spot for us(married/no kids or pets). The view of the surrounding mountains and inlets was as advertised. The bed was super comfortable, which always seems to be a wildcard when doing VRBO. There's a small kitchen which allows for food prep, but we were more interested in sampling the string of very solid restaurants in town. The place was clean and we spent a good deal of time sitting outside in the mornings and evenings taking it all in. The radiant floor heating was great too. Around town, Shelter restaurant was excellent as was the Rhino Coffeeshop, which had some FANTASTIC donuts, especially the London Fog. The Pacific Rim National Reserve Park was beautiful with its mix of beaches, coastal forest and rocky shoreline. And we did a Whale watching tour through Jamies which was also a great experience. We saw a Gray Whale, Sea Otters, Stellars Sea Lions, California Sea Lions and a host of sea birds. There was much more to explore but we didn't have the time on this trip. The only drawbacks would be that only one window opens in the place, and there was construction being done on the rest of house and we were awoken by a table saw in the garage just outside our door. To that end, we were still in bed at 8:30 and honestly that's a reasonable time to start your day. Other than that, Jason, our contact, was very easy to deal with. Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend this spot to friends, and we would certainly come back ourselves on a return visit.
While others indicate this is a great place, we were unhappy with our visit. The wifi didn't work on either of our devices during our visit and we unable to stay in touch with our workplaces via email and search online for local activities. It was indicated by the owners while we were there that the wifi is "hit and miss".
After the first night, we honestly found the bed quite uncomfortable and both our backs began to get sore. The pillows were also very thin. Then the fridge started to make a loud gurgling noise that kept us awake all night. We unplugged it, but the noise continued. We are both light sleepers and left the next day.
We asked for a partial refund of the remaining days due to our true and honest experience and dissatisfaction and were denied by the owners. We stayed two out of five days.
In our opinion, this place is more about making money than customer satisfaction.
Steep Driveway, but awesome view. Cute 1 bed Studio. Very comfortable. In a neighborhood overlooking harbor areas. Cozy with all the necessities.
The location was superb with a "million dollar view"!
The property was clean and inviting.
A few glitches with satellite & internet quickly resolved.
We were able to walk to the downtown area in minutes and also had what we needed to prepare meals as well.
Overall a wonderful stay!
We loved our stay here! If you like peace and quiet, privacy and a spectacular view to boot then this place is for you. Plus the bed is super comfy :)
Pictures and descriptions are completely accurate. Only negative was that the driveway is a bit of a bugger to negotiate, but not sure there would be any easy remedy considering the topographical limitations.
