Harwich - Harwichport House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8 )

Our West Harwich home has all the charm of yesteryear with the comforts and conveniences of today. You will find a mix of the old and the new, with wide pine floors, lots of windows, Cape Cod dormers and a farmhouse feel balanced with the newly updated kitchen and baths, cable TV and wireless Internet access. With sleeping accommodations for 8, our home is well suited for two small families, a large inter-generational family, a girls get away or a few couples. A large open living area and three outdoor living spaces - a large deck, a patio/grill area and a screened front porch - provides plenty of room both inside and out for togetherness. There are also lots of nooks and crannies for that late afternoon nap or reading.

We are located on a quiet street, 4/10 mile from Nantucket Sound beaches. Additionally our location offers easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail (and we have bicycles for your use!), you can walk to a park at the end of our street with trails and a playground for children or walk in the other direction to town for ice cream, pizza, art galleries, shops and restaurants. We think it's the perfect spot for rest, relaxation and fun!

Our home comfortably sleeps 8 people. There are two bedrooms on the first floor (1 queen, 2 twins) and a full bathroom. The upstairs has three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 2 twins) and another full bath. Each room has a dresser, night stands and reading lamps. Some have a small TV as well. The beds are comfortable and cozy. You'll sleep well after a day in the sun, swimming, good food and drink, a bike ride or a round of golf. There is something very peaceful about falling asleep in the quiet Cape Cod night, with the ocean breeze and the sweet smell of sea air.

The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including lobster pot and crackers (you will need to supply your own bibs!). There is a coffee maker, microwave, oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There is a gas grill on the patio. Common spices are stocked in the kitchen for your use as well. For those of you not so into cooking, there are many great restaurants and local take-out places in Harwich. The bathrooms are newly updated and very clean. We also have a washer and dryer on the first floor and a large outdoor shower.

Our home will be well prepared for your arrival. Upon entering you will note the warmth and simplicity of the decor and begin to unwind and relax. The house will be immaculately cleaned (with environmentally friendly products), the beds will be made and the outdoor furniture set-up. All you will need to do is unpack and meander to the grocery to stock up for the week. If something is not right, we are just a phone call away to make it right!

Cape Cod Charm - All Year Long!

Although most people think that summer on Cape Cod is the best season, we love the Cape all year long. Each season offers its own special magic. Fall is beautiful with the changing color of the leaves, the warm bay and ocean water, cranberry fall festivals and craft shows, the always available seafood, warm days and cool nights. Springtime on the Cape is when everything comes alive - the budding trees, the flowers, the calm sea and lots of pre-season specials. Winter is truly the quiet time on the Cape, but there is a special feel from Thanksgiving to Christmas in the small towns and villages. Shopping for holiday gifts, looking at the lights and long walks on the beach are some of the highlights. And summer - sun, swimming, bike riding on the rail trail, kayaking, mini golf, ice cream, barbecues, outdoor showers, walks along the shore and just hanging out - what more could you ask for?

Our West Harwich Charmer has quickly become a place we call home. It is our little piece of quiet simplicity in a sometimes hectic world. We know you will love it as well. Let us know if you would like to visit.

About Robin Sesan

Summers on Cape Cod are a tradition for us. It is really a place where memories are made. As an "empty nester" I love exploring the Cape in the off season and sharing the Cape in the summer with my 'grown' children, friends and family. I am a licensed psychologist by day - the outdoors, the fresh sea air, the meandering in quaint shops and little towns and good food on the Cape feed my soul.

Robin Sesan purchased this house in 2010

Why Robin Sesan chose Harwich - Harwichport

We spent many summers vacationing and exploring Cape Cod before deciding to purchase our home in West Harwich. For us, Harwich 'has it all'. Ideally located half-way between either end of the Cape, Harwich has spectacular salt water beaches on Nantucket Sound, the largest fresh water ponds, miles of biking and hiking trails, conservation land, boating, fishing and award winning golf courses. The seven villages of Harwich all have their own unique feel, with fabulous restaurants, shops and art galleries. Harwich is a small New England town. The feeling is relaxed and the people are friendly. And we have the Harwich Mariners, our own Cape Cod Baseball League team.

What makes this house unique

We looked at many houses before purchasing this home. Our home has a simple elegance to it, with a calm, cozy and relaxed feel. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the deck, drinking coffee in the morning and listening to the birds and Nantucket Sound. We love that we can walk to the beach and to town and that children feel safe in the neighborhood and are able to explore on their own. As food lovers, we also enjoy the many restaurants close by and ice cream 'on demand'.

Guestbook comments from the owner

From Our Guest Book:

Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us! We had a great girls weekend. We went to Heather's Spa, Squire for lunch, Port for dinner and RumRunners for some dancing!

We have been vacationing at Robin's Harwich home for several summers. Our family has grown with our grandchildren. This home is a great place to all be together. The kids enjoy the huge yard and run and play. It is tucked in from the road and feels very secure and safe. The location of the home is excellent. We are a beach going family and usually go to Earle beach.(one mile drive) We venture out to Chatham for shopping and eating. But usually we cook and eat in the Harwich house which is prepared to handle any type of meal making you desire, very well equipped. The setup of the home allows for great sleeping too. You will not be disappointed.

A PERFECT FAMILY VACATION!

  • 5 of 5

This was truly the best family vacation I've ever had. Staying at Robin's lovely, comfortable, and ultra-convenient Harwich home was the centerpiece of our fabulous experience. The house is spacious, very clean, and warmly decorated. There are so many places in and around the house to hang out and enjoy. We loved the large deck, the smaller seating area around the grill, the screened in porch, and the comfortable living room. It was great being so close to Nantucket Sound, the Cape Cod rail trail, and within easy driving distance from the National Seashore and other Cape Cod towns (Whale watching in Provincetown was thrilling). We cooked delicious meals in the kitchen, which was outfitted for our every need, and we used the grill every night. There were bikes, books, games, and even a high chair, pack and play, and stroller for our eleven month grandson. Everyone slept soundly in the beautiful, well appointed bedrooms, and the outdoor shower was a hit. Thank you Robin for putting such loving care into your Cape Cod home. We could not have had a better time.

Best Cape Cod Home

  • 5 of 5

Came here for a family vacation and had such a wonderful time. The home was clean, organized, and spacious. I always felt like there was space to "hang out" together but also space if I needed to have some time "alone." The house is located walking distance to the Nantucket sound and the bay as well as different shops on the main street (coffee shops, yoga, clothing stores..etc.). My family and I also really enjoyed using the bikes and going on the bike trail. Beautiful home located near so many fun activities!

Oh My Goodness

  • 5 of 5

This home was absolutely perfect for our family get away. The house itself was spacious and very clean. It was also outfitted with everything a family might need in terms of sleeping, kitchen gear, outdoor areas, a grill, bikes etc. Perfect! The house lends itself to "hanging out" either indoors or out but is also close to all types of Cape Cod delights - walking to the beach, a quick 5 minutes from the Cape Cod Rail Trail, a couple of miles from min-golf courses, and perhaps most importantly just a hop skip and a jump away from the Sundae School (best ice cream on the Cape). I am sure my family and I will come back time and again. I have stayed other places on the Cape (which were very nice as well) but noting compares to the West Harwich Charmer. Robin, you are officially my new best friend. I look forward to visiting your home again. Thanks - J

As for being your new best friend, thank you. We treat our guests as friends and over time become friends. Again, thanks for a great review and for choosing us.

Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (8 of us in total) spent two nights at this centrally located cottage in West Harwich – and we fell head over heels in love with it. The home was perfect. It was impeccably clean, spacious, and just straight up adorable. We immediately felt at home. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!

The location was fantastic as well. While we were originally under the impression that we might have to make short drives in order to explore the Cape, we discovered that we could get almost anywhere we wanted to go by walking or using the bicycles provided to us. We rode the bikes everywhere – to dinner, for ice cream, to the ocean, etc. They were a great touch to an already perfect home.

Also, I highly recommend going for dinner at Clancy’s - and ask to be seated on the patio (order the surf and turf – you won’t regret it!). Also be sure to check out the Sundae School for ice cream.

If you’re debating whether or not you should book this cottage, I highly suggest you do. You won’t regret it one bit! Thanks so much for everything, Robin. You were a fantastic host!
