About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8 )

Our West Harwich home has all the charm of yesteryear with the comforts and conveniences of today. You will find a mix of the old and the new, with wide pine floors, lots of windows, Cape Cod dormers and a farmhouse feel balanced with the newly updated kitchen and baths, cable TV and wireless Internet access. With sleeping accommodations for 8, our home is well suited for two small families, a large inter-generational family, a girls get away or a few couples. A large open living area and three outdoor living spaces - a large deck, a patio/grill area and a screened front porch - provides plenty of room both inside and out for togetherness. There are also lots of nooks and crannies for that late afternoon nap or reading.

We are located on a quiet street, 4/10 mile from Nantucket Sound beaches. Additionally our location offers easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail (and we have bicycles for your use!), you can walk to a park at the end of our street with trails and a playground for children or walk in the other direction to town for ice cream, pizza, art galleries, shops and restaurants. We think it's the perfect spot for rest, relaxation and fun!

Our home comfortably sleeps 8 people. There are two bedrooms on the first floor (1 queen, 2 twins) and a full bathroom. The upstairs has three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 2 twins) and another full bath. Each room has a dresser, night stands and reading lamps. Some have a small TV as well. The beds are comfortable and cozy. You'll sleep well after a day in the sun, swimming, good food and drink, a bike ride or a round of golf. There is something very peaceful about falling asleep in the quiet Cape Cod night, with the ocean breeze and the sweet smell of sea air.

The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including lobster pot and crackers (you will need to supply your own bibs!). There is a coffee maker, microwave, oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There is a gas grill on the patio. Common spices are stocked in the kitchen for your use as well. For those of you not so into cooking, there are many great restaurants and local take-out places in Harwich. The bathrooms are newly updated and very clean. We also have a washer and dryer on the first floor and a large outdoor shower.

Our home will be well prepared for your arrival. Upon entering you will note the warmth and simplicity of the decor and begin to unwind and relax. The house will be immaculately cleaned (with environmentally friendly products), the beds will be made and the outdoor furniture set-up. All you will need to do is unpack and meander to the grocery to stock up for the week. If something is not right, we are just a phone call away to make it right!

Cape Cod Charm - All Year Long!

Although most people think that summer on Cape Cod is the best season, we love the Cape all year long. Each season offers its own special magic. Fall is beautiful with the changing color of the leaves, the warm bay and ocean water, cranberry fall festivals and craft shows, the always available seafood, warm days and cool nights. Springtime on the Cape is when everything comes alive - the budding trees, the flowers, the calm sea and lots of pre-season specials. Winter is truly the quiet time on the Cape, but there is a special feel from Thanksgiving to Christmas in the small towns and villages. Shopping for holiday gifts, looking at the lights and long walks on the beach are some of the highlights. And summer - sun, swimming, bike riding on the rail trail, kayaking, mini golf, ice cream, barbecues, outdoor showers, walks along the shore and just hanging out - what more could you ask for?

Our West Harwich Charmer has quickly become a place we call home. It is our little piece of quiet simplicity in a sometimes hectic world. We know you will love it as well. Let us know if you would like to visit.

About Robin Sesan

Summers on Cape Cod are a tradition for us. It is really a place where memories are made. As an "empty nester" I love exploring the Cape in the off season and sharing the Cape in the summer with my 'grown' children, friends and family. I am a licensed psychologist by day - the outdoors, the fresh sea air, the meandering in quaint shops and little towns and good food on the Cape feed my soul.

Robin Sesan purchased this house in 2010

Why Robin Sesan chose West Harwich

We spent many summers vacationing and exploring Cape Cod before deciding to purchase our home in West Harwich. For us, Harwich 'has it all'. Ideally located half-way between either end of the Cape, Harwich has spectacular salt water beaches on Nantucket Sound, the largest fresh water ponds, miles of biking and hiking trails, conservation land, boating, fishing and award winning golf courses. The seven villages of Harwich all have their own unique feel, with fabulous restaurants, shops and art galleries. Harwich is a small New England town. The feeling is relaxed and the people are friendly. And we have the Harwich Mariners, our own Cape Cod Baseball League team.

What makes this house unique

We looked at many houses before purchasing this home. Our home has a simple elegance to it, with a calm, cozy and relaxed feel. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the deck, drinking coffee in the morning and listening to the birds and Nantucket Sound. We love that we can walk to the beach and to town and that children feel safe in the neighborhood and are able to explore on their own. As food lovers, we also enjoy the many restaurants close by and ice cream 'on demand'.

Guestbook comments from the owner

From Our Guest Book:

What a wonderful guest house. Everything we could have hoped for and more. We particularly liked the outdoor deck and patio. Thank you for sharing this wonderful and welcoming home.

Perfect retreat for a cozy weekend

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect rental for our needs. We were a group of friends getting together for the first time in two years. Even though the weather was wet during our stay, there was even a tropical storm warning), we had a great time doing the puzzles Robin had. The kitchen was a good size that allowed us to cook big group meals and the large dining table could easily accommodate all 8 of us. The screen porch was a wonderful space to sit out and talk while it was raining. If you are looking for a comfortable home that has a real New England charm I would definitely recommend checking this place out. It is a short, nice walk to the beach and just down the street from a great ice cream place.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed our home - even in the rain! It is a cozy place to curl up with a book, do our many puzzles and catch up on sleep when the weather does not cooperate. Sounds like you enjoyed our "downtown" with ice cream, a wine bar, art galleries and a fabulous yoga studio.

Perfect cottage for wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage that we stayed in for the wedding weekend. Had hair and make-up ladies come over to get us all ready, space and lighting was perfect. Made for beautiful first look photos in the backyard by the big tree and downstairs bedroom was perfect for getting ready photos. Love the quaint and home away from home feeling. Linens were provided and all worked out great with showers, appliances and bathrooms. Great location to town and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Robin

It was definitely as advertised. Very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We chose this house for my son's wedding week with family and friends. We had 7 people and the space worked great for us. Having 5 bedrooms with A/C and 2 full baths was definitely a plus. The outside shower was great as well. We loved having the big deck space for afternoon sun. Morning sun was great in the back yard. A big dining table and community space in the family room made entertaining very easy. So many laughs........ The house was very well supplied with what you need for a vacation. Lots of bikes, beach chairs, etc. Everyone in our party was happy to be there and said they would rent in the future if needing something in this area. It was close to everything so an ideal location. If you are looking for a home away from home, this is it. We made lots of memories there.

Owner's Response: We love hosting families who come to the Cape for weddings. We have even had brides photographed at our home! Our home is so centrally located and convenient to the magical wedding venues in our area. We spend a lot of time at the house ourselves in the off season (if there is such a thing anymore) so I am glad it felt like home to you. Hopefully you will visit us again.

This is a lovely vacation home! Don't miss it.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Harwich house for two weeks. It is charming, well maintained, and very comfortable.

The upstairs accommodated our family of six (three bedrooms and a bath), which left the two downstairs bedrooms and bath for guests. We had plenty of room to spread out with a screened-in porch, large sunny deck, cozy back patio, and large yard. Parking was no problem for multiple cars.

The house has everything needed for a Cape Cod vacation, from board games to bikes, lobster pot & supplies, easy walk to the beach, and a large outdoor shower. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into outfitting the house for the convenience of those staying there, and Robin even sent advance information about what local events were scheduled during our stay.

This is a great vacation house; I hope to make this an annual trip for our family.

In short: I recommend this vacation rental.

Keep Coming Back

  • 5 of 5

We've been to this rental several times and it never fails to delight and impress. The house is simultaneously spacious and cozy, everything is always sparkling clean, and the location is excellent. Our kids are starting to think of it as "our" house because we come back year after year.
