Neat & sweet cottage on the edge of town, nestled among the woods on a dead end street. Nothing too far away. 1 mile to airport, 1.5 miles to beach and town. Bike rental and shuttle stop within walking distance. New bike paths all around the area.
I was born and raised on the Island of Nantucket. I moved to the Cape in 1989, but come back and visit family weekly in the summer. I also prefer to do my own cleaning of the cottage, (So I know it is done just right.)
Joanne Harris purchased this cottage in 1980
I consider Nantucket my home as I am a Nantucket native with my family still living on the Island.
Being so close to the bike trails and the quiet forest setting. The Wave (bus service on Island) is a minutes walk.
We had a great stay at this cute Nantucket Cottage. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We very much enjoyed the outdoor patio, and it was convenient to have beach chairs, towels, and other necessities available. Property is very conviently located with bike path right near by. Booking for next year!
Spent a week at this house and it worked out very well. It is a perfect mid-Island spot to get around from on foot, bike and WAVE. Also convenient to a fish market, liquor store and the Nantucket Bake Shop !!! What more can you want? Biked to Surfside and Cisco; took the WAVE to Siasconset. Restaurants are nearby as well and the Stop & Shop is just a mile. A great location at a house with bunny rabbits and on a quiet road for sleeping and bicycling.
Nantucket can be somewhat overwhelming when you are looking for a place to stay. However, if you are looking for comfort, simplicity and the most convenient location, THIS IS THE PLACE! I have been renting this cottage for four years running and we rent it several times a year... in the summer and in the fall.
From this comfy cottage, you are within a 10 minute ride to everywhere... beach, town and Cisco Brewery. If you prefer to leave the car parked, Island bikes is across the street with affordable rentals and the town bike path can take you from one side of the island to the other.
The owner is delightful and flexible, which makes renting this cottage that much easier. We absolutely love working with her.
My wife and I stayed at this cottage over an extended weekend in June. It is perfect for a couple or small family. Nothing is ever far away on Nantucket, but the central location of this cottage just off the Old South bike path makes it even easier to get where you want to go. A short walk to some of the Mid-Island shops and shuttle stops. The cottage is comfortably furnished and has all the essentials for a Nantucket vacation. We were very pleased with the entire rental experience and will definitely be renting again.
Some mornings and evenings you can see the deer come and nibble on the grass around the neighborhood. Leave an apple and enjoy the wonders of nature.
