This 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath retreat features a dramatic Great Room, Vaulted Ceilings, Wood-Burning Fireplace, Gourmet Kitchen, Dining Room, an upstairs Home Theatre/Media Room, and a Palatial Master Suite with sky views. The Master Bath features a fabulous soaking tub and massive walk-in stone shower with multiple jets! The house also features a stocked library, Wi-Fi, 52' HD Flat Screen, Central Air, BBQ Grill, Outdoor Fire Circle, a huge Front Deck. The fully screened-in Back Porch--complete with 6 person Hot Tub--overlooks the forest and Firepit! This home is not in a suburban-style community, so come enjoy the privacy you've been looking for. You can explore thousands of acres right out the back door!!

Located 32 miles or less from Shawnee and Camelback Ski Resorts, 25 miles from Lake Wallenpaupack and 17 miles from Milford, PA (10 Coolest Small Towns, 2007)

Our favorite Activities in the area: For personal pampering, we absolutely love the Pure Day Spa in East Stroudsburg. The spa is beautiful, the services extensive, and the staff professional and pleasant. While you are in town, stop at Liquid for dinner and drinks.

Historic Milford, PA is one of our favorite local towns. The food and ambiance at Hotel Fauchere and its more casual Bar Louis, are superlative and the shops along Main Street should not be missed.

We also enjoy hiking and waterfall-watching at George W. Childs park just down the road. Additional hikes are available all through the area, but the hiking trails at PEEC (Pocono Environmental Education Center) are varied and the staff there are available for education and assistance. Pick whichever hike fits your mood!

About Brett Jarvis

Pocono Dream Cabins is family owned and operated. After moving to the Poconos from NYC, we soon discovered how amazingly beautiful and serene the Poconos truly are--especially considering how close we are to NYC and Philadelphia. Our cabins are approximately 1.5 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Philadelphia. We have had guests from as far away as Holland, and as close as just across the border of New Jersey. Our cabins are fully stocked with all the amenities, including towels and linens.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend, our dog and I stayed for a few days and had a great time! The house was gorgeous, immaculate and exactly as advertised. We loved the fire pit outside, the hot tub and the enormous bathtub, and couldn't figure out which to take advantage of first. The library and loft space were spectacular- it was as though the library was curated just for me. The curtainless windows took some getting used to, but the natural light throughout the house was well worth it.

If you plan to stay in and relax for a few days, this is really the place for you! The nearest grocery stores and restaurants are about 20 minutes away, so it's best to bring every thing with you or stock up beforehand. The internet is very spotty (and I solved that little problem by turning off my phone for a few days), but I would reccmmend doing a little research about attractions beforehand.

A great little place to get away and relax- we will definitely come back!

Quiet, relaxing, and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home on 5 acres. We stayed for 4 nights with our pup. It rained every day but that just gave us an excuse to do nothing but relax. Serene and quiet. You'll find everything you need in the gourmet kitchen. Yes, bring sharp and serrated knives. Hot tub is great and overlooks the forrest . There are about 40 windows so there is plenty of natural light. Two cons - small beds and pretty good distance to drive if you need anything.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic house for a Poconos getaway! It is situated in the middle of a forest, very private and beautiful, and the house is lovely. Very well maintained and well appointed. An easy drive to all of the activities we wanted to discover. We loved hiking the waterfalls, did a Delaware river rafting trip, and had some great meals in Milford. We plan to return, and highly recommend others consider this home.

A Tonic For The Soul In The Poconos

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect getaway from the hubbub of the world. The house exceeded our expectations. Great spot for a reunion with my sister. Beautifully decorated, great kitchen, world class library.

Black bear visited us the first evening.

Some things to consider.

Bring food and condiments. There is a great store (Pickerwell that has pretty much everything 2 miles away on 402.

Side roads in the state park were great for walking our dogs.

Exactly as pictured - beautiful, secluded home!

  • 5 of 5

This property is exactly as pictured and described! It is very a very secluded home and we did see a small black bear in the backyard... but were warned this was a possibility! Everything you need for a weekend getaway can be found within the house - but it would be wise to bring a sharp knife & non-stick pan if you plan on spending time in the kitchen. The hot tub & fire pit were a huge hit!

Great secluded getaway!!

  • 4 of 5

If your looking to relax with nature and be isolated for a while this place will fit the bill.

The house is kept clean and in fine condition with all the essentials you would need to be comfortable. A local supermarket was approx 20 minutes away for everything else.

Peace, quiet and solitude are the keys here. If you don't want to see neighbors and wish to escape society for a bit then book away!!!

There is a huge area of public land, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and forest surrounding the property. Nearby you'll find the Mountain Laurel Center with concerts and events, Pecks Pond, where you can see Bald Eagles, rent boats and fish, or eat at the historic Pecks Pond Inn. Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest body of water in PA, is 20 minutes away. High Knob, one of the highest mountains in the Poconos, is just a few minutes away. Numerous ski areas, golf courses, paintball, boating, hiking, ATV and Snowmobile trails, waterfalls, and more are all in the nearby area. Milford, Stroudsburg, Matamoras, and Hawley are all about 20-30 minutes away. This property is located centrally in the Poconos so you are within a reasonable drive of almost all of the attractions. What is most unique about this property is that it is not in a gated community, unlike most Pocono vacation rentals, so you can enjoy real seclusion while still being close to civilization.

Ski: As for skiing, the great thing about this location is that you are right in the middle of most of the Pocono ski areas. We get a lot of skiers who want to visit a different area every day. Tanglewood is only 12 miles away, about a 20 minute drive. You are also within 30 miles of Shawnee, Camelback, Mountain Creek, Big Bear, Alpine Mountain, Fernwood, and even Sno Mountain in Scranton is not out of reach.
