Boulder Crest is an historic 1920’s cabin built on top of great
boulders looking over Lake Arrowhead. This is the mountain-cabin fantasy come true - except that it comes with new mattresses, down comforters, washer
and dryer, chrome cookware, Wi-fi and all of the things that maintain the romance without sacrificing the comforts.
Boulder Crest occupies a double lot, which allows for privacy,
outside recreation and parking for four cars. This beautifully
preserved cabin was featured on the Lake Arrowhead Home Tour. Until recently the cabin has never been rented.
The romantic interior is all wood with a large, rock fireplace. It
includes three bedrooms (two of which overlook the lake) and two bathrooms. Boulder Crest is ideal for sharing since
the “bunkroom”, which contains two double beds built into the pine walls, has its own entrance, bath and deck. There is a queen-size bed in the main bedroom; a double bed in the guest bedroom; two doubles in the bunkroom. New down comforters and pillows are included for each bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including an O’keefe and Merrit
stove. The refrigerator has a filtered, ice maker.
There is a barbecue on the very large deck overlooking the lake.
Wi-fi, Cable TV, VCR, CD player, coffee maker, microwave, washer and dryer are also included. There are two thermostat-controlled furnaces.
The cabin, which is within walking distance to Arrowhead Village,
also comes with access to the dock on the lake and a pass to the beach clubs.
Check in time is 3pm and Check out time is 11am, unless otherwise agreed upon. The minimum stay during the week is 3 days.
First of all, the view of lake is spectacular, with a very large deck and nice charcoal BBQ....The house is clean and rather quaint, love the huge oversized leather couches and antique oven...I never know how well a rental will be stocked with knives, paper towels, dishwasher pods, etc, so I usually bring my own- not needed here, the house has everything! It's lovely to walk on the lake, the path is easy to find and mid week is oh so quiet....It is a fantastic get away from the hustle of LA - less than 2 hours....The owner Kenneth was very responsive and easy to deal with, and the fireplace just demands fires going all winter long. Can't wait to come back- and enjoy the winter wonderland!
This was our second stay at Boulder Crest.
What a wonderful get away in the mountains. The home is very charming and cozy.
The view of the lake is just mesmerizing.... especially at night when the moon hangs over the lake
and the lights twinkle in the distance. The home itself is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked
with pots and pans etc. if you would like to cook. Thank you Kenneth and we look forward to visiting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boulder Crest! The views were marvelous, the cabin quaint and tremendously comfortable. It is a place to rest, relax and nourish your weary souls. Kenneth was quite responsive and helpful. We would choose this cabin again and again!
Vintage cabin with incredible views of the lake, on a pleasant street- quiet....Owner was easy to deal with and we enjoyed our time there very much....Bring charcoal for the BBQ and firewood for the fireplace and you will be good to go! plenty of plates, glasses, towels etc. Prepare yourself for peace and quiet and lots of reading and or napping time. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. Home easily accommodated 6 adults. Walked down to the ALA trail and into town and back - 40 mins roundtrip and great exercise! Jumped in the lake as a reward. Lake Arrowhead is such an amazing spot and we were fortunate to find the perfect space for a birthday weekend with friends. Didn't use the dock but hired a private lake cruise from the Hotel in the village. It is a must to get on the lake and view the homes and boats from the water.
The house is a wonderfully rustic, charming space with plenty of space, light and air. We could have used a few fans as the weather got up to almost 90. The kitchen is basic with a very hot, old stove but still manages to pump out a great meal. Everything we needed was there - clean towels, sheets, dishes, etc.
The property owner/manager is communicative, helpful and easy-going.
Highly recommend this lovely spot.
Beautiful View! Tranquil! We spent more time at the cabin than originally planned because we were mesmerized by the view! Especially enjoyed hanging out on the spacious deck, but the views inside from the kitchen table and living room are just as gorgeous. All windows have great views. Just like the pictures shown. The cabin is truly amazing! New windows, plumbing, & modern appliances. No modern convenience is lacking, including wi-fi. One night we couldn't decide which movie to watch on the DVD and ended up playing the monopoly game found on a shelf and had a blast. (Mom won!) We marveled at how the cabin seemed so warm & comfortable, yet is so old! Glad it has been kept it in such good condition!
The 2 upstairs bedrooms share a nice-sized bathroom that has a tub only but it was really no problem for our family because there is a modern shower as part of the bunk room below. All linens and comforters were very nice. Plenty of extras available. Main floor has a huge fireplace, large comfy living room, large kitchen table (seats 8 easily) and warm kitchen. Wood floors throughout (except bunk room with carpet) have a nice, warm feel and creak every now and then, just as one would expect. Heaters work great, hand-crank awning provided the perfect shade in the afternoon over the deck. Lilac bush on the side was blooming and the whole property was just as lovely as could be. There are some stairs, (not steep or long) so perhaps not ideal for toddlers, but otherwise it's a great place to enjoy a quiet, peaceful retreat. Grocery store, restaurants and shore access very close.
Lake Arrowhead is a private lake owned by the property owners. Access to the lake is limited to owners and their guests. There are no motels, bungalow colonies, etc. As a result the lake and its communities are clean, quiet and the area beautifully maintained.
