We are both designers and love creating warm, inviting spaces for our guests— a home away from home we'd love to stay in if we were traveling ourselves. It's always a pleasure to meet our guests and to give them tips on interesting places to visit.
We were a family of 5, parent with 3 teenagers travelling for Thanksgiving. The apartment was perfect for us. Plenty of room to spread out, comfortable furniture and well equipped kitchen. The apartment is even better than the pictures suggest, which is not always the case! The apartment was very clean and the property manager very responsive. The apartment is located about a 10-15 minute walk to either the L or the M subways. (we walk slowly) Getting into Manhattan was a breeze. The neighborhood is very safe and feels like a "real" neighborhood. The street is brick paved and has a very cozy feel to it. We were not there long enough to fully enjoy the area, but the owners provide an extensive list of restaurants, cafes etc. in the area. Everything in the apartment was tastefully done, the owners did not cut corners on quality when renovating. Nice tiles in kitchen and bath and high quality furniture. Nothing was cheaply done. We travel quite a bit and rent all kinds of places and this has to be one of the best places we have ever rented. Thanks so much!!!
my bosses and i took a "business" trip to new york city, and stayed at the apartment in ridgewood. it was a beautiful place! the apartment was immaculate, and a great layout for the three of us. the beds were all very comfy, even the twin bed i slept on, and there were plenty of towels and places to put things.
the neighborhood was quiet and the street was beautiful! we felt completely comfortable walking to nearby places to eat, and explore. we took the subway to manhattan which was a short walk, and a twenty minute ride to chelsea. we also used uber to go to williamsburg, and jackson heights with no problems at all!! bridget was an email away at all times it felt like, and checked in a couple times, but did not overwhelm us. one of my friends is planning on coming back with her family. all in all five starts from us!

Our family, three adults and two children, absolutely loved this spacious ground-floor apartment in Ridgewood, right on the border of Brooklyn and Queens. We stayed there seven nights and enjoyed all the mod cons - gas stovetop and electric oven, washing machine and dryer, airconditioning, and a TV with online streaming through Verizon and Roku. The beautiful historic building has been modernised but still retains plenty of old-style charm. There was more than enough room for our group - the master bedroom is massive, there is a second good-sized bedroom with plenty of privacy and a small bedroom featuring single bed and pull-out trundle bed for younger guests. Master bed was a bit hard but got used to it. The lounge and dining area are very comfortable and user friendly and the kitchen has everything you need, if you feel like cooking. It even has a little backyard! The apartment is in a great location - pretty quiet for New York, there is a playground a couple of minutes' walk away and the closest subway station, DeKalb Ave on the L line, is just a 10 minute walk away. Uber is always a good alternative transport option too. This place was a great base for our family to explore New York but you have to realise you are not in the heart of the city. We didn't mind that fact - it was a great place to relax with some peace and quiet after exploring the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. It's pretty close to the funky bars and restaurants of Williamsburg too. I would thoroughly recommend this place for families on their next holiday to New York.
I stayed at this home during memorial weekend and took a quick Uber ride into the city. Street parking is not a problem at all, there was always something available when needed. Separated bedrooms is a plus! You do hear every sound but if for us it was not horrible as we only went there to sleep and the noise did not begin until around 9a (understandable). Shower is a decent size, shelves are hidden but there! Everything was clean with the exception of the blanket in the back room. I suggest if you are staying here to bring your own blanket or clean the blanket prior to use. Vanity in back room, very useful with getting ready with multiple people in the home. Corner store on opposite side of block was VERY convenient. Overall, great stay, great location, I would recommend and stay here again!
Straddling the neighborhoods of Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens, the apartment is 5 blocks away from the Dekalb Street 'L' train station in Brooklyn—one of the best subway lines in the city. Union Square, the heart of downtown Manhattan, is only 15 minutes away via a direct subway ride; Williamsburg, Brooklyn's stylish boutiques, bars and restaurants are only a 7 minute train ride away.
Ours is a quieter, more residential neighborhood, but it is in an exciting stage of growth. In the last 5 years there has been a huge influx of artists and creatives in our immediate area. As a result, there is now a solid (and rapidly growing) number of stylish cafes, restaurants, wine bars, art galleries, yoga studios, and a great 24-hour gourmet/organic grocery store all within a 10-12 minute walk from the apartment. There are also local Italian bakeries, Halal butcher shops, Equadorian bodegas, Polish food markets and the best tasting Mexican tamales we've ever come across. All relevant information can be found in our Guest Welcome binder in the apartment and we hope that you will explore these local gems during your visit.
