Why Stephen Gregorio chose East Wakefield
An amazing getaway during any season of the year. The lake in the summer is amazing, with temps in the mid to high 70's; great fishing on the lake; snowmobiling in the winter; skiing not far away; and the autumn season is spectacular for the colors. **Please note: Our target group are families and groups who are looking to enjoy themselves and respect our home. We do not want loud partying groups as we respect our neighbors. If you are a loud partying group, please do not inquire. Thank you!

The cabin and property are fantastic! We had a group of adults and fit very comfortably in the house for our winter getaway. Great communication with the owner about the property as well. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away for a weekend!
Slice of Heaven!
Spent the week of July19th-July26th at this lakehouse and it was wonderful! The house sits above a cove on Balch Lake. Very quiet and peaceful. Several times someone in my family would say "It's such a beautiful day, why aren't there more people out playing?" The cabin comes with everything you need to have a relaxing, fun and enjoyable time. We especially enjoyed the two brand new paddleboards. Highly recommend planning a stay at this truly slice of heaven.
Great, Spacious cabin in a beautiful location
We spent a week at this beautiful cabin. There were 7 adults and 3 kids, the cabin was spacious and great for kids. The location is fantastic, down a few steps to the private beach area complete with kayaks, a canoe and inflatables. The lake is safe for young kids to swim and we spent a lot of our days just hanging out here. Grilling and wine on the deck in the evenings is a great way to end the day overlooking the lake. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would love to go back some day.
Our party of 15 had an amazing week at the Gregorio's cabin! Plenty of space to enjoy in the warmly decorated cabin with everything you could need. Steve is a responsive, friendly owner and is a pleasure to work with. The lakefront is gorgeous and has everything you could want (kayaks, a canoe, tubes, lounge chairs, fire pan, a dock for fishing and life jackets for toddlers to XXL adults!). The lake itself it beautiful and the cove where the cabin is located has the perfect amount of privacy. Our time at the lake was so much fun that the kids in our group asked to skip day trips to NH amusement parks to just stay and play at the lake. We would absolutely stay again and recommend the property to others.
Great lake location for a family
We enjoyed this property very much. The house was perfect for our family six adults and 5 kids ages 2 months up to 6 yrs. We never felt crowded and the kids had a place to watch a movie or get silly in the lower bunk room when they weren't in the water. The sandy beach with a gradual walk in for the little ones was perfect and the dock for the older one to jump in and fish from was ideal. And he actually caught fish. What was also great was the porch where I could sit with the baby and still watch everyone playing at the beach. It was very quiet and sitting around the fire pit in the evening was fun. We did some exploring of the lake which is very large(we probably didn't see but a third of it) and lovely The kitchen was spacious enough without feeling cramped and there was a large table inside and one on the deck. There is no dishwasher but ...
Stephen the owner was always available with a quick response if there was a question (not many needed). It is a place that I would highly recommend if you want to be on a lake.
A negative would be that the Transfer Station for the garbage was not open Tues thru Thurs and since we used a lot of paper products it accumulated quickly but that is not a fault of owners.
Wonderful spot and accommodating owner
This property was perfect for our weekend gathering of friends and family. Plenty of privacy on the house's own little beach, but also close enough to lots of local attractions, restaurants, bars, what have you. We're convinced that the little cove on which the house sits is the most beautiful spot on the lake. More important than any of the aesthetics and amenities, though, the owner is friendly, responsive, and helpful in all aspects from booking to leaving. Highly recommended spot.
We are set on a quiet cove on Balch Lake, away from all the boating noise. Easy access to main part of the crystal clear lake, where there is great jet skiing, tubing, swimming and fishing. There is only 1 home close by, but our beach is very private and secluded. There are no beaches across the cove, as those homes have no beach front areas at all. So, you can feel comfortable just tanning or relaxing on the beach or the dock or floating in the lake on a tube, imbibing your favorite drink.
Once done with all the outdoor activities (be it in the sun or on the mountains), we have a wonderful 6 person outdoor hot tub that is available year round. Nothing like it after a hard day of skiing the blues or blacks on the mountains in the crisp, NH winter air or after a tough day out on the water or beach, swimming and tanning. Great way to unwind.
We are 45 minutes from the Portsmouth Circle and very easy to get to up Rte 16; just under 2 hours from downtown Boston. Once here, we have space for 5-6 cars to park down at the cabin. We also have a 2 car garage up the hill, which is used more for storage, although lots of parking there as well, if needed. We have over an acre of land on our property.
2 convenience stores 5 minutes in either direction on Rte 153. Large Hannaford's grocery store 15 minutes away in Ossipee. Poor People's Pub is a nice local bar and pretty good food as well -- 10 minutes away in downtown Wakefield. Miss Wakefield's Diner and Hen House are 10 and 5 minutes away - both serve fantastic breakfasts if you do not want to cook (great pancakes, omelettes, et al).
Other Activities: Boating, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing --- all available on our lake. Local marina allows people to bring in their own boats. We provide canoe and kayak and some flotation devices to use. Our private beach is nice and sandy and approx. 100' long. Nice and gradual slope for little children. And you can jump off our dock into the lake. We are located in a nice, tranquil cove which does not get much boat traffic, so nice and quiet. Great to just jump on a flotation device and grab some rays with a drink of your choosing (we have a refrigerator in our tiki hut on the beach). And nothing better than building a fire on the beach at night under the stars next to the water.
Golf: Province Lake -- 10 minutes away on Rte 153 North; great course in wonderful shape
