About Mike and Sharon
We have lived in this beautiful part of North Georgia for 40 years, and felt a desire to share our 'piece of paradise' with others. So, in 2003, we built a rental cabin on our 120 acres. This allows others to share the pleasure of our natural environment in a secluded forest, away from the busy world, yet conveniently located to go to all those outside activites. There are no other rental cabins on our property. Your own private resort!
Mike and Sharon purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Mike and Sharon chose Cherry Log
Beginning in 1972, we started building our home in the mountains to retreat from the frantic city life in Atlanta. We moved into our mountain home in 1977, and have never looked back!
What makes this Cabin unique
At Five Ridge Bluff, you have the advantage of having a gorgeous mountain view plus access to the Ellijay River. A mile long nature trail goes from the cabin to the river and runs along its banks -- all on private property. Along the trail you will find spots to fish, play in the river, picnic, or sunbathe. Since it is all on private property, you have it all to yourself!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Enjoyed our stay
This was the perfect cabin for our week long summer vacation. The cabin is secluded with great views of the mountains. There is so much to do on the property. We have a family of 5, with children 12 to 4 years old, and everyone loved it.
We enjoyed nature hikes, playing in the river, shooting in the field, making s'mores at the fire pit, the hot tub, and evening board games. The owner’s dog, Buster, is very pleasant and joined us for nature hikes and river playtime. There is a nice grocery store (Ingles) within 10 miles for restocking on food.
The shooting area is an open field with 2 movable metal disc targets. We used string and masking tape to hang paper targets and cans between the trees. Most of the field was shaded in the early afternoon to get out of the sun. It took a few minutes to get setup on the first day and we cleaned up everything including the brass shells on the last day.
The owners are very accommodating. For example, we asked about recycling at check-in and they provided bins the next day.
We look forward to our next visit to Five Ridge Bluff. In fact, shortly after we arrived home, we booked our next stay.
We loved our stay!
We had a wonderful time at Mike and Sharon's cabin. They were great to deal with and very accommodating. The cabin was so quaint and cozy. Well equipped with all the needs for our stay and very clean. We enjoyed the grounds very much and loved hiking down to the river. The pups were also the best companions. We will definitely be coming back to this cabin. We really enjoyed our stay.
This place has everything!
Had a great stay, this place has a lot to offer. Lazy river, awesome views, and a great cabin. Property owners were great! Thanks
Had a very relaxing time away from the everyday hustle. Beautiful property. Loved the cabin and the views. We definitely look forward to coming back.
Very clean, relaxing and secluded.
The stay was overall great, however I’ve had the most difficult time receiving back my security deposit it has been a month! Mike and Sharon have claimed that they’ve sent it three times but each having a different story. I’ve asked for proof they’ve sent it or a tracking number which I was told was “too expensive” but if you are sending a check you should be tracking this money especially if it’s been “lost” 3 times! They have now refused to do anything else to return my money faster and are being rude when asked about the status of the deposit. This is horrible for business and was going to be a returning customer but will not be doing so NOW! I hope they don’t cheat anyone else out of their money it’s just horrible!!
As stated in our rental agreement, the damage deposit will be returned within 14 days. It took 28 days for Elia to receive her return, but she did get it. We have not cheated her out of any money. At first it was delayed because of the time it took for us to replace the outdoor chair that they had burned in the fire pit, so we would know how much to deduct from the damage deposit. With the first check mailed to her, we wrote “Trail” instead of “Trace” in the address, and so the check was returned. We apologized to Elia for the error, and were never rude to her. We did not put a tracking number on the second mailing because that would not get it to her any faster. Our concern was not to trace the mail, but to get the deposit returned to her quickly. The problem had to do with a glitch in the USPS, not with us. We did offer to do a direct bank deposit, but she never responded to that suggestion. She did finally get the check. While staying at our cabin, Elia did tell us how much she enjoyed her stay, the facility and the amenities. She had no complaints.
This place is perfect! I recommend this to anyone who wants to get away, and feel on top of the world. Great views, excellent amenities, and wonderful owners. Thanks again. We will be visiting again!
Buster was the best host! He hung out on the porch with us a few times. So well behaved and polite.
