Looking for a beautiful mountain view plus river access? Five Ridge Bluff has it all. Located in Cherrylog, Georgia, on 120 acres of private and SECLUDED land, between the picturesque mountain towns of Ellijay and Blue Ridge, Five Ridge Bluff boasts a splendid MOUNTAIN VIEW, abundant wildlife and native rhododendron, as well as over a mile of HIKING TRAILS along the Ellijay River. This site is named Five Ridge Bluff for the five ridges visible from the covered porch, the farthest being the Tennessee Valley Divide, commonly referred to as the 'Blue Ridge'. Truly a splendid view.
This 1300 square foot, non-Smoking cabin has three bedrooms and two baths, with each bedroom uniquely decorated. The Georgia Coast, or master bedroom, houses a king-size bed, sitting area, and jacuzzi in the ensuite master bath and walk in closet. The Southwest bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and the Georgia Country bedroom has two twin beds. The wrap-around deck has a six-person hot tub and barbecue grill. An outside fire pit for camp fires is also provided, as well as a hiking trail which takes you through the woods, along the river, and wraps back around to the cabin. An outdoor target shooting range is also available on the private property. All conveniences of a family home are provided for your comfort ... and we pride ourselves on CLEANLINESS!
Fishermen can enjoy over 3/4 of a mile of available fishing along a native mountain stream, all on private land. Hike along the river and explore the native flora, have a picnic in the gazebo by the river, let the kids splash in the water at the island in the river, enjoy the private outdoor shooting range, or just relax on the covered porch and watch the sun set as the geese fly by on their way to Goose Island. It is not uncommon to see deer feeding close to the cabin during the early morning or twilight hours.
Convenient access to activities, including only twenty minutes to the beautiful White Path golf range, or less than 60 minutes to Whitewater Rafting on the Ocoee River, site of the 1996 Olympics. Horseback riding, antique shopping, and fine restaurants are close by. Only a little over an hour from Atlanta or Chattanooga. For back to nature seclusion combined with convenient access to a wide variety of activities, come to Five Ridge Bluff!
We have lived in this beautiful part of North Georgia for 40 years, and felt a desire to share our 'piece of paradise' with others. So, in 2003, we built a rental cabin on our 120 acres. This allows others to share the pleasure of our natural environment in a secluded forest, away from the busy world, yet conveniently located to go to all those outside activites. There are no other rental cabins on our property. Your own private resort!
Mike and Sharon purchased this cabin in 2003
Beginning in 1972, we started building our home in the mountains to retreat from the frantic city life in Atlanta. We moved into our mountain home in 1977, and have never looked back!
At Five Ridge Bluff, you have the advantage of having a gorgeous mountain view plus access to the Ellijay River. A mile long nature trail goes from the cabin to the river and runs along its banks -- all on private property. Along the trail you will find spots to fish, play in the river, picnic, or sunbathe. Since it is all on private property, you have it all to yourself!

Hi! We stayed in your cabin 9-25 - 9-26, we had a great time. But the more important thing was how CLEAN and homey the place felt. Everything was there that you needed, all you really need to bring is your clothes and walking shoes. We do appreciate the cleanliness of the cabin and the location, the river, the view, and the trails were great. We tried to treat the cabin the way you do and leave it clean. We only hope that everyone who stays there will do the same. Thanks for the use of your cabin.
We just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay! Wish it could have been longer, but this cabin is so awesome, it is always booked ! When we arrived we met Mike. He & his wife Sharon own this cabin & the beautiful property. Great guy, easy to talk to ! The view from this cabin is stunning! Words cannot do it justice. There are beautiful, peaceful walking trails along the lake. The owners share the entire property with you to enjoy it's beauty ! This cabin is secluded, but only about 15 minutes from either Ellijay or Blue Ridge. You should visit both quaint towns ! You cannot come here and not fall in love with the spacious, well stocked, comfortable, beautiful cabin, and then comes Buster & Dixie ! The sweetest and very polite dogs of Mike & Sharon. They hung out with us every day & night and we looked so forward to seeing them. Buster is your own private trailblazing tour guide through the trails! We left very early the morning we checked out & Buster was there and just sat on the front porch watching us drive off, not leading the way as he had done previously. He touched our hearts so deeply, we were quite weepy for a long time.
This cabin is a must ! Each season has different things to do, so book early and go !! We can guarantee you will not be disappointed !
We look very forward to our return !!
We rented the cabin for our honeymoon. Personally, I have never been on a vacation that I missed so much! My husband and I are still talking to everyone of how great this cabin was! We enjoyed the shooting range and the incredible view! I loved the central location between Ellijay and Blue Ridge. This made our exploring endeavors much more enjoyable! We were so sad to leave. I can not thank Sharon and Mike enough for sharing their piece of paradise! We hope to return in the spring!
Some friends and I spent 4 nights at the cabin and the whole experience was great. We made use of the shooting range where the various ranges worked our well for everything from pistols to rifles. Prior to our trip I read reviews about uncomfortable mattresses and slippery stairs and can say that neither of these were an issue for any members of the party. After spending a "guys trip" at the cabin I would definitely return for both another "guys trip" or a vacation with my family.
This was our first time to the cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The cabin was extremely clean and well taken care of. The owner was extremely polite and welcoming. Our main purpose for the trip was a "guys weekend"--to make full use of the gun range, hiking, etc. We didn't know much of the gun range when we booked the stay, but were pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was for our needs. We had a great time. We really enjoyed Buster--he was a hoot and was really a trailblazer for us during our hike. We only got to see Dixie on one or two occasions, but she is a real sweetie. We look forward to our next trip to Cherry Log!
The cabin was in excellent shape, very well appointed and furnished. We wanted to get away and relax in the mountains and this fit the bill. Mike and Sharon were great to work with and we really enjoyed the company of Buster and Dixie. The only regret we had was that we only stayed for 3 days. We got a good taste of the area and look forward to coming back!
We are a family of up to 7. This cabin was comfy but not stuffy at all. We loved the mountain views and the cabin had all of the extras such as satellite TV, AC, a coffee maker, and 2 full baths.
We stayed 3 nights and it was lovely! We enjoyed playing in the river, tried our hand at fishing (no luck, just too hot) and also enjoyed walking on the nature trails! The best part were the dogs! We loved spending time with Dixie and Buster. We are not "dog" people, but these were the gentlest, friendliest, and best behaved dogs that we've ever met!
We saw a lot of wildlife while we visited, mostly birds, a couple of turtles, minnows and a black snake (it was non-venomous). The walk down to the river from the cabin was a little steep, so I'd make sure that you supervise kids the first couple of times. My mother-in-law went with us and she had to catch her breath a couple of times on the way back up (but so did I, lol). The "Steep" nature trail, was definitely harder to manage than the one behind the cabin. I am moderately in shape and I had a hard time with climbing back up the hill. Once you make it down to the river, there are very well maintained walking paths near the river. I was entertaining the idea of trail running, but I don't know if that's a good idea in general. There were a lot of roots and stuff hidden under the forest floor. Our favorite place was the "island" where my kids enjoyed wading into the shallows and I just lounged in the chairs provided. There is also a nice garden area with a gazebo. I was concerned about ticks, but the trails are well maintained and we didn't seem to get any. We also used an all natural bug repellent before every walk or excursion outdoors.
I was hoping for just a couple of days away from the daily grind, but what I got out of it was so much more! I felt like this experience gave my kids a chance to experience nature, work off extra energy (they slept really well) and they ended up caring so deeply for Dixie the dog.
On our last morning at the cabin, my daughter was in tears, she didn't want to leave the cabin or the dogs behind! This was not just a temper tantrum, she genuinely cared for the dogs!
Overall, it was the best mountain vacation ever!
