About the property

Casa del Sol and Casa de Luna are located near the small Mexican town of Chemuyil. These adorable casas are available to rent as single family or group rentals. Chan-Chemuyil is the perfect place to vacation due to it's close proximity to the other commercialized vacation spots (Playa Del Carmen or Tulum). Visit them for the day and then return to enjoy the peacefulness of a secluded vacation home. You will be provided all of the amenities of a home including a full kitchen, king sized mattress, 2 twin mattresses in the spare room, air conditioning units in each room and an LCD TV with dvd player in front of a huge comfortable sectional. The back yard has a palapa covered deck that provides shelter from the elements. If you are renting as a group, your patio is joined under the same palapa, making a wonderful place to enjoy family meals or having a cool drink in the evening.

Our vacation homes are perfectly situated in the Mayan Riviera for guests who would like to explore. There are many things to do within a short driving distance suitable for both explorers and families. Cenotes, Beautiful Beaches, Mayan Ruins, Shopping, Restaurants, Eco parks, Water parks, Mayan cultural shows, Spider Monkey sanctuaries, Turtle sanctuaries with tours and release programs, Internet Cafes, Night Clubs, Golfing, Fishing, Scuba diving, Horseback riding, etc...

Xcacel beach is located minutes away. It is considered to be the feature benefit of renting our homes. It is a government protected sanctuary for the endangered loggerhead and greenback turtles. It is also a nesting area for these majestic animals to come from July to September and lay their eggs. Moonlight tours are available to witness this amazing event. It is also the most amazing beach for soaking up the sun, getting a tan and enjoy the soothing sounds of the crystal blue Caribbean Ocean lapping onto the shore. If you are comfortable in the water, grab a boogie board and have some fun. The waves are usually perfect.

Make no mistake, Casa del Sol and Casa de Luna are in the perfect spot for your Mayan Riviera vacation. Property managers are available 24/7 and the development has many friendly locals and retired multinationals happy to help you enjoy your vacation. Visit our website link located below to find out more about the area and all it has to offer. Mi Casa es su Casa, Bienvenidos! (Our home is your home, Welcome!)

About jason manly

Hola! We are the Manly's. We live in Sherwood Park Alberta, Canada. We first visited the Mayan Riviera in 2006 and truly fell in love with this beautiful region. The food, the people and the beaches were a few of our favorite things. While visiting in 2007, we stumbled upon a little hidden gem called Chemuyil. We were lucky enough to find our casa there, and have put several hours of work and love into this little piece of paradise. Now we would like to share it with you, and your family. Please take a look at our website for more details. Bienvenidos! Mi Casa Es Su Casa! Welcome! My house is your house!

Why jason manly chose Tulum

Once you visit, you will understand! This entire area has so much culture and beauty, it will take years to explore it all. We always find fun and interesting things to do while visit. As a couple, or as a family, we never get tired of the beautiful sights, sounds and people of the maya. See our link to our website to learn more about the region, our house and why we love this area.

What makes this house unique

We were so lucky to find a place so close to a beach that has to be one of the most beautiful, mesmerizing places on earth. Within a 10 minute walk of our front door, you can see the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean, a natural fresh water cenote, and the whitest softest sand you can imagine. Grab a cooler, chair and umbrella. Head to the beach for a relaxing day in the sun, or take a boogieboard and some snorkels to hit the waves or see some wonderful sealife. We love it there.

Excellent home base for exploring the prettiest section of Riviera Maya

  • 5 of 5

We had a great visit at Casa del Sol. The host and his wonderful local caretakers responded rapidly whenever we needed anything. It was only a short drive to: Akumal's Half Moon Bay with its corals just off shore and an unusually fine restaurant La Lunita (on way to the Yal Ku lagoon), the superb public beach just south of the ruins in Tulum (passing a well stocked supermarket), and the interesting jungle ruins of Coba. The adjacent Xcacel beach may be the prettiest of all--just watch for falling coconuts in the white sand parking area there. We did not do cenote diving but the most acclaimed holes are in the immediate vicinity. The expat retiree neighbors were a cheerful bunch, inviting our daughter to Christmas and socializing with Chan Chemuyil's police officer who patrolled the town and Xcacel on her ATV. We'd love to return to Casa del Sol if we have the opportunity. Thank you Jason Manly!

Wonderful week at Casa Del Sol

  • 5 of 5

It was completely as marketed and had everything we needed for the week, right down to the washing line to hang out our handwashing. The lovely extras such as bucket and spade for the 4YO for the beach came in handy, as did the beach chairs and towels - meant that our carry-on bag policy (from NZ!) worked out as we didn't have to take own towels etc. Within close proximity that all the Mayan Riviera offers, but far enough away from all the American flashy stuff of Cancun. Easy drive to Tulum and other local spots. We did an easy day trip to Cozumel Island from here. Jason was excellent with communications around the property and rental etc. We came from the south when we arrived, and he confirmed the directions to the property from that direction, so made it easy to find. The lady who looks after the house only speaks Spanish, but my minimal grip on the language was enough to comprehend her instructions on the usage of the fans or aircon units, and general information. Would happily return should we ever get the opportunity to do so. Oh - the beds were immensely comfortable - the best we had in the Yucatan (we stayed in hotels for the week before). The bed in the master bedroom must be a super king - it was fabulous!

Séjour très agréable

  • 4 of 5

Return to Casa Del Sol

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this casa... and once again everything was great. Clean, comfortable and as other reviews mention, centrally located. We prepared our own meals (there are two grocery stores in Tulum with everything you need). Akumal beach is great for snorkeling... saw lots of turtles and beautiful fish and corral.

Thanks again Jason, great place to stay!

Stay at Casa Del Sol

  • 5 of 5

Booking this home couldn't have been more simple and hassle free. From the moment I contacted Jason he responded in a timely and helpful manner and I was able to move on to the more fun aspects of planning for an international trip without dealing with the hassle of, sometimes, spending weeks of back and forth emails with an owner to secure the place. Furthermore, he handled the transactions through paypal quickly and efficiently and gave excellent directions from the airport that made finding the place almost too simple. Even after me forgetting information about the lock box and asking for clarification he was more than happy to reiterate the instructions to me.

Upon arriving everything that was showcased on the web was true to life, leaving my partner and I with only good impressions. The place was clean and had everything ready to go but what we enjoyed most was the location. There are endless amounts of cenotes within twenty minutes of the home in either north or south, access to ruins such as the Tulum, Coba, and Chichén Itzá (though further at about and hour and a half away), Akumal is about ten minutes away and offers their traditional pueblo as well as a cute little touristy town with lots of shops, restaurants, hotels, Yal Ku lagoon which offers excellent snorkeling, and the beach at Akumal Bay is a super easy place to spot sea turtles.

When my time (sadly) was up he quickly restored the deposit back to me keeping in tune with his pattern of efficiency. Overall an excellent casa and great location I look forward to a return visit next year!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your excellent review of Casa del Sol. We are very happy to know you enjoyed your stay. We also think that Chan Chemuyil is located perfectly for a quiet and relaxing stay in Mexico. So close to everything but still far away from the busy resorts and towns. We still have not been to all of the wonderful cents in the area, but make it a goal to see them all soon. Gracias!

Great home, everything you need

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfect if you like beaches, exploring jungles, peace and quiet, and village life. It was our second time stating in Chan Chemuyil, and this house surpassed our expectations. The house manager, Elena, and her husband Patricoi were there to help with anything at all that we needed. We felt exceptionally cared for, and made lifelong friends with them. If you're looking for a place in Chan Chemuyil, thus is as good as it gets!
